Need help from those who have read the Twilight series

Kimenem

I have watched the movie 3 times since Sunday. I don't know WHAT it is.....Edward's looks, or how protective he is, but I think I'm obssessed and it's ridiculous!!!!!

Anyway, I just ordered the last 3 books. For those who have read them, I have questions. I can't wait and want to know!!!! I know you may not want to post it here because of spoiling it for others so if you want to respond, just PM me. Here are my questions:

1. I know they are now filimg New Moon. How does this book end?

2. Does Edward ever turn her into a vampire and, if so, what changes his mind?

3. I read a review that said Edward actually turns out to be controlling and kind of creepy. Is that true?

4. How does the series end? Do Bella and Edward stay together?

THANKS!!!!!! Any other info would be GREATLY appreciated as well :p

I have read all four books and I have the answers to your questions but....are you SURE you don't want to read the books? They are all very good.....

1. Yup, they are filming new moon. It ends on the last page, just like every other book

2. Don't recall. Must've missed that page:D

3. Edward starts out controlling and creepy. He's male. He's a vampire. He's in love. That's what they do.

4. It ends at the end. I believe the last sentence is "The End"

I'm not gonna tell you!!!! You can knock thru the last 3 books in a week. They're fast easy reads. I will say I finally saw the movie this weekend ($1 - yay Redbox) and wasn't impressed. Glad I read the book, it was so much better. The movie was very disjointed and missed alot of explanation/background. DH kept having to ask me questions. The movie assumed you had already read the book, which I had.

I WANT TO KNOW!!!! :D

I saw the movie first and now can't wait until the next one which isn't supposed to be relased until 11/09 I think. I don't know WHY I'm so obssessed. It's really starting to get annoying. I'm afraid the book will only make me MORE obssessed.

Kim,

You naughty naughty girl. Please read the books, they are worth every word you read. Be patient and enjoy the series. Seriously!;) I'll be watching Twilight tomorrow night. Can't wait. I bet the book is better than the movie, at least in my experience they are. Don't worry about being obsessed with the series, they are so very well done. Read the books, and I promise you will stop being obsessed. Then you can read them again.

I loved book 1 and thought the movie was okay. I will say Robert Pattinson looks much better in film than in pics (never saw anyone that un-photogenic that looked so nice in film--could ber all the make-up though).
Horribly disappointed that Meyer isn't continuing to write book 1 from Edward's perspective (Midnight Sun) - the excerpt on her website was really good.
The next 2 books were "eh" for me. I am tired of hearing Bella whine about how she isn't worthy of Edward, blah, blah, blah (don't yell at me :) I also thought these books could have been more succinct with better editing. But I have come this far, so starting book 4 tomorrow to finish the series.

While I won't answer your questions, I will say that Wikipedia will be able to satisfy all your curiosities, as it has info about everything on it. But before you go there, are you sure you want to know?

Personally, I am dying for the new Sookie Stackhouse novel to come out - love those vampire stories....you should try those as well, if you haven't already!

Don't worry, you won't get any flack from me. Bella annoys the crap out of me for some reason, both in the book and on film.

Nan... :D !!!!!!! That cracked me up.

I agree about Robert Pattinson. I do think the make-up may be part of it. About the next Sookie Stackhouse novel....me too, me too!!

Kimenem ~ I think I may have been obsessed.:D I was even a little sad when I finished Breaking Dawn. Silly, I know.

Does anyone else want to be a vampire?

My 13 y/o and I talk about what we'd do, how we'd eat, what our special power would be. We both agreed that we would NOT be vegetarians. State prison, here we come!

(Okay, that's gross. Sorry!) :p

**slips in and raises hand** Yes. I'd want to be like that detective vampire in Moonlight - the TV series - and get the bad guys and gals.

I just saw the movie last night on Comcast and I was very disappointed. The book was SO much better IMO. I don't remember who said it, but yes, the movie leaves out a lot of detail and background and my husband asked me questions the whole time. I did not devour the second book like I did the first, was tired of Bella and WHERE was Edward!? The third book was better than the second, and I enjoyed the 4th book too but leading up to the end it was suspenseful and then... ;)

Christopher Moore has a hysterical (well, if you find shaved cats hysterically funny) vampire story called You Suck. You might want to check into it too.

Kim,

I could have written your first post! I'm dying to know what happens. I'm hooked on the Twilight saga after watching the movie (I bought it). I keep asking my son who has read all the books, and he won't tell. He says, "Read the books mom!" Darn the little(big) brat! He said the movie left out a lot.

I want Edward to turn Bella and they live happily ever after in vampire purgatory:D:D
My DH liked the movie too, but he kept saying, "Awww, a woman wrote this story." I wondered why he thinks that:p

BTW, I LOVE the name Bella.
I'm going to use that name for my next girl dog:cool:

I think Christopher Moore had at least two vampire books. I never read You Suck (I should!) but I think it was the sequel to Bloodsucking Fiends, which was pretty good (and funny.)

Definitely only for adults, though!

My SIL has gotten into vampire books lately. She says there is a whole genre of them for adults...kind of like Twilight but with sex scenes!

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I was telling people at work, "I think I'd like to date a vampire and be protected all the time and have someone want to be with me that much." :D

Maybe it's just the passion they have for each other that I want. I used to have that but my now 9 1/2 year relationship is just floating along.....passion free

Also, he did look quite good in the movie so that doesn't help. Not sure what it is exactly and I keep trying to figure it out but I do know that I have to STOP!!! I keep telling myself, "It's FICTIONAL!!!!!!!"

In the 2nd book, doesn't he tell Bella he doesn't love her anymore and leaves to protect her? I think maybe he comes back at the end after he tried to get other vampires to kill him because he thinks she's dead. It will be interesting to see how they do that movie because people (women/girls) will be none to pleased if Edward is missing from the majority of the movie.

Go to www.TwilightMoms.com

They have a huge forum -nuf said ;)

I have been a huge fan of this series since my dd brought it home from school nearly 3 years ago - You need to read these books and then revamp(reread) over and over ;) I've revamped over 4 times not including the audiobooks I have on my ipod or the movie soundtrack - I have OCD Obsessive Cullen Disorder to the Max

Hmm, I actually thought the movie was pretty decent. Much closer to the actual book than any of the Harry Potter movies. I love those as well, but they are not even in the same league with the books they are based on - talk about leaving out major details. I thought Bella was a lot less irritating in the movie too. I wanted to slap her silly through almost all of the books. Couldn't stand her. I think it will be interesting to see how they adapt the next few books. Way more action and gore in those. My DH had no problem following the story, but he was about halfway through the movie before he realized it had anything to do with vampires. ;)

Our neighbor's dog is named "Bella" actually. She's a sweetie.

Liann, your comment about your DH cracked me up. :D

Jodi, I tried reading an adult-oriented vampire novel. Now, I'm no prude. Honest. But damn...that book was waaay over the top. To the point where I found myself a touch annoyed. It was almost as if sex was THE whole point of the story. *thinks* Maybe it was, and I was too dorky to pick up on it. Oh God...was I reading porn?! (I can't remember the title.)

To be fair though, I'm really tough on authors. For example, the Twilight series is a great concept. However Meyer, in my admittedly critical opinion, is not a good writer.

Lori - I totally agree! I think Meyer is an absolutely AWFUL writer. It was painful at times reading the books. The story itself was interesting, but I kept thinking she really needed to take some writing classes. J.K. Rowling is another story. That woman can write!
