Need harder "Back & Core" workouts

Hi everyone!

I've been doing both CoreMax & Hardcore Series Back, Shoulders & Biceps yet find myself needing more of a challenge.

I'm looking for M-O-R-E!

Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanx ;)

Do you have ab hits? I hear that's pretty good. There are also some killer ab segments on C&W, ME, MM (I hear - don't have). You can always do add ons. If none of this seems to float your boat, ppl seem to love the P90X ab ripper thingy. I don't have that either but sounds killer! Hope this helps some.

Back: P90X
Core: P90X AB ripper and P90X Core Synergistics, TLP's

But why not just go heavier on back work?

The Gym Styles are about the only Cathe workouts where I don't feel she overworks the chest compared to the back (though I don't think the biceps--a small muscle group--need as many sets as the back, so in BSS, I often add an extra back exercise instead of one of the biceps exercises).

Well, you could incorporate some pilates into your workout for more core work. I started pilates in January & I am truly amazed at the difference in my abs & transverse abdominals, not to mention the lower back & posture muscles. It has also made a world of difference in the rest of my routine. For example, somehow when I do pullups I can actually feel my core "levitating" me upwards--I have no idea how this works but it's really something.

Other than joining a gym (which would be my recommendation--I have fabulous back workouts at the gym b/c there are so many options), you could buy a pull up bar from your local sporting goods store. There are several different mounting options (pressure bars, brackets, etc.), but I used to have a bracket mounted bar & made great use of it. It is probably the most effective back exercise in the world.

If you're OK with books, Kurt Brungardt has a great one - Abs for Women. Some really tough exercises in there. He has them in two sections: core work and traditional ab work. You could select a few and use them as substitutes while you're doing your video.

RE: Need harder

Best ab workout: ab ripper P90X, ab hits dvd, ab segment of C& W,KPC, ME etc.

Best weight workout: back and biceps P90X/ Chest, shoulders and triceps P90X and shoulders and arms P90X.
