nastiness on the internet

I got these kind of people living next door to me. But hopefully we've gotten to the point where they will keep away from me because the town officials have pretty much told them they're stupid.

As far as FB or anything like that.... unless I actually KNOW you (or are someone from Cathe.com), I don't accept you as a friend and you can't access my information. It's pretty easy to avoid cyber bullying. You can even block text messages from specified numbers.

I too have my FB account blocked to everyone who is not on my friends list accept for some minimal information that might be helpful is someone whom I would be interested in "friending" is looking for me on there. If anyone I am currently friends with ever did something that didn't sit right with me I can just break the friendship and be done with it. The only people I do not know on FB and are friends with are some fitness personalities ie Cathe, Beachbody Instructors and Kelly Coffey Meyer. Not worried that they will be a thread to me.

As for here at Cathe.com I could have written the OP's msg myself. I am as careful as I can be not to offend, or be nasty in my responses on here even if I feel it may be deserved. I have been on the receiving end of some nastiness myself which I felt was incredibly undeserved and it upset me. I am a peace keeper by nature so to speak so being needlessly attacked bugs me to know end.

Same here! My account is totally secure. Nobody who isn't on my friends list can see anything. All this guy had was my name, which is a VERY common name. I cannot imagine how much time he's spent over the last 6 mos. trying to find me & all my contact info. I suspect as an attny he's probably used some official channels & surely violated the NY bar code of ethics. I'll be researching that over the w/e.

But it just goes to show you the cyberworld gets scarier every day.
