My Story

Hi Cathe,

First of all, I just wanted to say thank you. I know that you are very busy, but you take the time to assist everyone that you have touched in 1 way or another.

I just want to tell you my story.
I am an only child. My whole life I was overweight. My parents would send me to fat camp just to lose weight. I did, however when I came Home I ended up gaining it all back.
After College I blew up like a balloon! Well over 230 lbs. May not seem like a lot of weight but I looked like I was 500lbs.

Anyway, I ended having Gastric Bypass Surgery and Now I am down 110 pounds. It is statistically proven that 20% of the people who have this procedure gain back the weight within 3-5 years. (Carnie Wilson Included).

I am only out 1.5 years but I have to say, thanks to your Video (Body Fusion)(I bought the whole kit, step, ball, tubing etc)I have been able to maintain a weight of 130 lbs for the past 3 months.

Being only 29 years old, I am not yet married nor do I have children. That should be coming shortly so Plastic Surgery is not an option for meat this time. My goal is to have a toned body as close to yours at possible. There is a lot of hanging skin though. (sorry to gross you out)

My question to you is....How many of your different workouts do I need so that there is enough variety and I am able to stay fit with you?
It took me a little while, but I have now mastered Body Fusion. I would consider myself an Intermediate stepper for I have been stepping for years, but not yet advanced. ( I would love to go there together);-)

I am new to your site. I just signed up today. I have been doing your Body fusion video for 3 months now and I'm ready to take the next step so I'm not sure what videos to get that will help me tone, get the little remaining fat burning, aerobic and Cardio I need to stay fit.

I hope you read this message and I thank you for doing so. Any help you can give me is great and MUCH APPRECIATED!

Thank you so much for your caring response.

Fondly,

Brooke

Hi Brooke,

I hope you don't mind my replying, but, in case Cathe doesn't have time to respond, I wanted to let you know that Cathe has posted a beginner's rotation in the Rotations section of the forum that might help you take your workout to the next level:

Congratulations on your weight loss and success! That's just fantastic! And welcome to the forums, too! I hope you won't be shy about posting since there are so many kind and knowledgeable people here!:)

Hi Brooke,

What a great story and welcome to the forums! I also wanted to add that you may want to check out the intermediate rotation that Cathe posted:

http://69.0.137.118/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=7&topic_id=6852&mesg_id=6852&page=2

This will require the purchase of a few more DVD's but it will get you in the right direction.

I think on the beginner rotation, Cathe recommends Cardio and Weights as a good next step. It is on the same DVD as Imax 2 which is a very advanced workout. Low Impact Circuit is another good DVD for intermediate. Most of the strength workouts would be fine, you may have to go lighter on the weights than Cathe. I have been enjoying Power Hour a lot lately.

Just a few suggestions. Congratulations on all that you have accomplished! Stick with it and you will succeed!

Brooke, all good advice so far but just wanted to add: DOING THE HAPPY DANCE FOR BROOKE!!!!

Congratulations and welcome to the boards friend. You blong here!

Congratulations!! What a fantastic accomplishment! I think you are awesome to care so much about your health and especially because you are being so proactive about it!

I think you are in the best place for this! People here are wonderful and will be a great source of support and inspiration.

I just want to encourage you to invest in strength training workouts in addition to cardio. They will definitely change your life for the better!

Thanks for posting your story for us all to read!
Denise

Wow, what a story! I would've been your friend, fat or thin, you sound like a neat person! I only have one comment - if you can do a Cathe video - you are approaching advanced exerciser! Her easiest workouts are hard!

Great job! Did you do the band or the bypass? (Just being a nosy nurse, people ask me about it, and women like you are the real experts!)

Welcome Brooke to our 'Cathe' Family!

Here you will find friends who will help you and motivate you as well as give support.
