My sister's new puppy!

My sister and her family are driving to pick up their new puppy this weekend. His birth home is a few hours drive from where they live.

My sister lost her 13 year old corgi 3 months ago to kidney failure.:( Her family was devastated because it came on very sudden.
My sister couldn't find it in her heart to look at puppies or consider replacing their beloved Susie. Her oldest daughter (21 year Anna ) couldn't live without giving love to another corgi. Searching the internet, she met a breeder and communicated with her for several weeks. After getting to know Anna and the family, the breeder chose this male for my sister's family.

My heart is filled with joy and I'm pleased to announce the newest family member(I'm a new auntie:))

Meet Cash....as in J.R.(Johnny) Cash. He is a Cardigan Corgi:)

What an adorable little guy! Love the name!

Congratulations to your sister and her family on the new addition! I know how hard it is to lose one suddenly. I lost my first beagle, Keirin, at 2 yrs. of age when her intestines twisted. She was too bad off for surgery and we had to put her to sleep. Devastating! I now have 2 beagles and a cat!

I know they will all be very happy!

What a sad but sweet story. Cash is too cute and I love that he's named after one of my favorites "Johnny" :D

Cash is just adorable. A vet told me years ago on the death of a young cat that I simply loved and when she died and I swore never to adopt again "Give someone a loving home.
Adopt another cat". That message really stuck with me. It is really a tribute to her dog to adopt another. All the best with the new puppy.

My sister's family chose the name Cash as a tribute to their precious Susie.
Susie LOVED Johnny Cash music. The day they helped Susie to the bridge, the family surrounded Susie with Johnny Cash music playing in the background.
My sister said it was a very peaceful experience.

They are planning to play Johnny Cash music in the car for Cash's trip home.:)

Cash is so darn adorable! I hope that he brings your sister's family as much love as their beloved Susie did..I have no doubts! ;)

I told my DH that I wanted a puppy for Christmas last night. His reaction..well..it was sort of a "you are crazy" stare. Actually my 9 yr old doxie Tanner was a Christmas puppy in 2000. DH had him hiding in his inside coat pocket! :)

Have fun with your new nephew Cynthia! :)

Awww, I can picture you baby inside a coat pocket. :)
I sometimes get the puppy fever, but we puppy-sat a few months ago for my son's GF rescue pup.
That puppy wore us out!!! I have to senior dogs. I think in the 9 years I've had them, I became a senior too! That puppy was BUSY!!! We couldn't sit down for a minute.
Mercedes and Maximus spend most of their day snuggling up to anyone willing.

Thanks for the well wishes! My sister's family is very excited. This will be their first puppy. Susie was 6 months old when they got her. My sister said her house feels kind of empty without a fur baby to come home to. They really are bundles of pure love.:)

That's exciting..their first baby! I couldn't imagine not having my boys especially not having children. They are my snuggle buddies in the evenings. We all have our set positions on the loveseat. :D

Chastity - There is nothing better than 3 wiener dogs!!! ;)

Trust me..I've mentioned you and your three weiner babies when trying to plead my case! :D It hasn't worked on him yet. Maybe if my two boys weren't so accident prone, especially Tanner, we could afford a third. I swear he's a puppy hypochondriac!

I can totally relate. We have spent over $7,000 on Mercedes' vet bills this past year. :( Her current medication cost $200 a month!
I may consider pet insurance in the future.

I'm sorry Cynthia..it's shocking how quickly their medical expenses add up! We've been through three back surgeries at $5,000+ each! The first two were for our first boy Doc who's at the bridge now and then one for Tanner. Then there's the countless leg issues Tanner has had and the skin and tummy trouble both Tanner and Tucker have had. They're worth every penny but it can become stressful!
