My Pseudo P90X Legs & Back routine using Cathe's GS Legs ...

Jess_jugs

Cathlete
I did my own version of Legs & Back this morning so I thought I'd share!

I used Cathe's Gym Style Legs and hit the pause button a lot to add in the pullups! ;)

1. Squats

2. Wide Front Pullups

3. Front Lunges

4. Chin Ups (Reverse Grip Pullups as Tony calls them)

5. Reverse Lunges

6. Close Grip Overhand Pullups

7. Plie Squats

8. Switch Grip Pullups (2 hands facing in, 2 hands facing out)

9. Leg Press

10. Chin Ups

11. Dead Lifts

12. Switch Grip Pullups

13. Slow Motion Lunges

14. Wide Front Pullups

15. Calf Raises

16. Close Grip Overhand Pullups

17. Wall Squat (at least 1 1/2 minutes) <I added this because I love wall squats!>

18. Switch Grip Pullups (optional add on)

Have fun!! My whole body is going to be sore tomorrow!

Wow Jess! That sounds way harder than P90X Legs/Back! That's what I have on tap for today, too. I might just have to try your version:)

Let me know if you try it!! I thought it was harder than Legs & Back for sure!! Cathe's GS legs is one of my favs!

Ok, please be warned if you try this... severe DOMS the next day!!! Wow, I'm sore in the legs (calves especially), glutes, lats, shoulders, you name it!! :p I love it though, I was looking for a butt kicking workout and that was just the ticket! ;)

Jess, as I was doing Legs/Back-the regular way- I was thinking about trying something similar with Legs&Glutes. I cannot see myself doing Legs/Back for another 6 weeks! Thanks for the great ideas:) I might get sore, but I won't be bored!

I've been doing something similar for the last couple of years. When I finished my last round of p90x I didn't want to lose my chin/pullup abilities. But I do not like doing them with upper body. So I just did them on lower body day. Pausing the dvd, doing my chins or pulls and going back to the leg work. Works nicely ;)

Catherine & Jess~

You both are much smarter than I am:( After I finished my P90X round, I went back to Cathe's w/o and quit doing pullups. Then one day I decided to P90X chest & back and couldn't pull a single one:mad: Granted, after my first round I could only do a few unassisted but this time I couldn't even get past halfway. GRRRR...I won't make that mistake again!

Whoa Jess....This looks awesome! Those slow motion lunges get me every time:confused:

Thanks for posting this!

JJ

Do you know, to this day, when I do GSL I STILL can't do more than two slo-mo lunges? Actually, I got through 3 once, but only on the first leg... with no dumbbells. Those things are tough, especially after all the other leg work.

Ooh, I love L & G too!! Good idea, maybe I'll try that next week. :p Seriously, I'm still sore today from doing this on Friday!!!

You're so smart, Catherine!! I love the pause button. ;) My chinup bar is upstairs anyway, so I have to run up & down 2 flights of stairs for each set. That has to count for extra, right?? :D
