My new sneaky way to burn calories

Most of us with a GWF have been shocked to find out how many calories we can burn with things like housework and generally moving around more during our day. Well, for my birthday yesterday DH got me an ipod dock. We turned it on this morning and both found ourselves singing and dancing around the house doing chores we might not have done otherwise since we loved each song that was blaring through our house. I went from sitting on the couch to dancing and doing chores, so I went from burning 1.5 cal/min to 9 cal/min. We kept this up for the next hour until we had to stop. Now my house is looking good and so is my calorie burn:D Kudos to DH for a great choice:D

Funny that you posted that. Yesterday I spent 6 hours cleaning the house and I had my music blaring throughout the house. I wore my HRM because I was curious what my calorie burn was. After 3 hours (in which I took a few breaks to snack and eat lunch) I burned over 700 calories. Music definitely helps with the intensity, but you don't really realize what addition calories you burn throughout the day during chores/errands. They really add up. Music definitely makes it more enjoyable to me, so I don't mind it so much.

For years I've not been able to clean house without music going! It's nice to know I've been doing myself some good cardiovascularly all this time! Of course, that's on the rare occasions that I clean house!

I hate housework. :p

Probably a little lame, I'll admit, but someone stole the tv remote so I'd like to think I've been burning extra walking back and forth from seat to set to adjust volume/channels.

P.S. I think I know who stole it too, but trying hard to keep my annoyance at bay and avoid confrontation (aarrgghh)

You are a better person than I! I would have a breakdown if I didn't have the remote! ha
