My new DVD is scheduled to arrive today

My new DVD is scheduled to arrive today and I am hoping that I can finally leave the treadmill behind! I am praying the new DVD will be easy to follow and will keep my heart rate up so I can have something to do aside from the same old treadmill routine I've been doing for years. I am also hoping to be able to use it with my Novel Notion box, which I got long before the ministep ever came out, and has thus far completely obviated the need for a ministep. If I have to get a ministep, I don't know where I would fit it into my living room, but if I need it, I guess I'll get it. :)

Nancy~does your Novel Notion Box adjust to diff heights? If so, I doubt you will need the Mini-Step. My DVD's (& MUG!!!) arrive today too! Have FUN!

Mine are coming today too!

Nancy, over the years, I have accumulated 3 steps, one I made into a horrible mini which I replaced with the High Step when it came out. I picked a couple up second hand for my sister and my neighbor, who was starting a workout program, and neither of them wanted them! So I have 18 risers, two platforms and a mini step. I gave that old teal one away to a new neighbor and let her try my Cathe DVD's and she too brought it back along with the DVD's. Can you beleive there are so many folks who don't do Cathe? She's too hard! And my sister is a monster when it comes to fitness. LOL! Kooky! Anyway, I incorporate those risers and platforms into yard work and home projects quite often and I am strangely in love with them! I can reach unimaginable heights standing on 18 risers! :D

The Novel Notion box adjusts to 4", 6", 8", 10", 12" and 14". But it is made of wood and is very hard, and doesn't have the rounded edges that the high step top has, so we'll have to see how it works out. The DVD isn't here yet, but should be here sometime this afternoon.

Did you buy them all Deb?

Bobbi-
That's a lot of equipment! It would be different if I had a house and a yard like you do, but we live in an apartment and there isn't much storage space. Any new acquisition I may contemplate must have a really good argument for taking up valuable real estate, or it doesn't get to stay. Sometimes my DH says its a wonder I let him stay! :+

Have fun with your new DVDs!!

Hi Nancy !!!

I just received my DVD's. I'm off to preview them! I would think your novel notion cube should work fine. I've been using my old Fanny Lifter and so far it's worked fine. If I ever make it to Cathy's gym I would probably buy the high step to save on shipping costs and ditch the Fanny Lifter.

I'm so excited about these new DVD's. Let me know what you think of the choreography.

Susan :D

Funny! If I had to choose between hubby and equipment.... So long, Rich! LOL! I have mine stashed in the laundry room and a downstairs closet. It used to be part of the family room furnishings. Can't wait to sit and preview the new stuff. Where, oh where is the UPS man? Where, oh where can he be? :)

Hey Nanc!

YEEES, I bought them ALL! I am hoping that I can do the beginner/interm ones coming back from a knee/ham injury. Even if I wasn't injured, knowing ME, I would have ordered them all anyway. Have to have each and every Cathe, ya' know? I hope your box works. I'm sure it will. Now, if that UPS man would just show up. We don't get deliveries from them til around 6-6:30ish. Waaaah! Did yours come?

RE: Hey Nanc!

I received mine today and they look great. Body Fusion looks like a lot of fun. Tomorrow is normally a rest day for me, but I'm thinking I may do Body Fusion. I'm going to hold off on the advance circuit workout until next week as I've been pretty tired this week and it looks really tough.

It's been so long since I ordered, I didn't even remember that the one I ordered is the beginner step workout, which doesn't use the high step. Because I had oral surgery yesterday, I can't work out today as per Dr.'s orders, but I previewed the DVD, and the music is a little disappointing. Also, the footwork moves so quickly, I think it will take me many tries to get it down, and I don't know if I have the patience. I'm getting really interested in the other two DVDs, and may order them this week. Please let me know how the music is on the high step workouts guys, and also what you think of them generally.

Hi Nancy! Have you done Cathe step before? If not, I think you'll surprise yourself how quickly you will pick up the beginner workout. Even if it does take you a few tries, that is okay. You will still get a workout. Just keep at it. Once you get the basic moves down (V-steps, A-steps, turn steps, corner-to-corners and such) you will use these moves in all of Cathe's other workouts. Cathe does a good job of introducing the moves fairly slow so hang in there. Let us know what you think AFTER a few tries! I personally like the music on all three DVD's. It just seems very smooth and very fitting to me. Good Luck and don't give up! It's worth all the FUN you will have once you master it! :7

Debbie,

Nope, never successfully done ANY step workout. My brain is too slow to follow. All my cardio is done on machines at the gym. I've always loved the idea of step, though. It's so safe and can be so low impact. My body is able, but the brain can't keep up.

So?? What do you think of the high step workouts? Tell me: can they be broken down into two days worth of exercise? Is there a logical stopping point from which you can pick up the next day? How do you like them? Is there any fancy footwork or can a nerd like me follow along?

C'mon. Don't hold back. Thanks!

Well, Cathe is the BEST! Sooo, give her a try. I KNOW you will be loving these workouts after you try. I cannot honestly give you a good review on what I think so far because I haven't done any of them yet. Just previewed them last night and this AM. and they LOOK awesome! Now, if I can get off this machine, I am going down to try one! As far as the High Step DVD's, I would definitely try the High Step Circuit one first since the steps are more basic. The step sections are easy to follow and they repeat the same sequence 4X in a row for a total of only one minute, so even if you goof on the first one or two, I am most certain by the 3rd. or 4th, time, you'll get it. If it takes longer then that, that is okay too. No one will be watching you, except Cathe & crew! ;-) Yes, they can easily be broken down. For instance, the The High Step Circuit Workout is broken down into 6 cycles. Maybe you can do the first two or three cycles and then, repeat the first two or three three again for more practice or, just move onto whatever, AB/Core, UB, LB or whatever. That is what is nice about home workouts. You can do whatever YOU want to do. No competition at all. I can't wait to hear about your first try. I KNOW you'll be hooked. LET ME KNOW!
