My incredible daughter

allwildgirl

Cathlete
I found this note on her desk this morning.

"Dear Santa,

This Christmas, I would like:

war-torn countries to be restored and please, please, please no more enviromental disastars!

Thanks,

Sophie"

I almost cried.

WOW that is pretty deep. i was just reading an article that the children victims of the storms were asking the same thing. all they wanted was their old toys back too, they didn't want anything new, just their life from before. well now i am tearing up :)

Thanks, everyone. I've been talking a lot to her lately about Christmas and about how it's not all about presents and getting "stuff". I even suggested that next year we should adopt an underprivileged family instead of buying gifts. I guess something is getting through to her.

OK, I'm crying now! That is wonderful. You have to save that note forever!

One year we were trying to sell our house, but had already moved into our new house and my dd (she was 4 at the time) said, "Mom, why don't we give it to the kids that don't have anything." Talk about crying! I scooped her up and gave her the biggest hug.

Shelley, you're doing a wonderful job raising your daughter.

Dallas:)

Awwwwwwwww, Dallas, that's so sweet! Isn't it great when our kids do stuff like that, and wouldn't it be wonderful if it was so simple?:)

Awwww Shelley,

You have a wonderful daughter---so selfless and kind:+ . Thank you for sharing. Now that's what Christmas is all about!

Michele

Wow, Sophie IS amazing, Shelley!! I salute you.....what a wonderful job you've done with her! Looks like the apple certainly doesn't fall far from the tree:7 :7

I wish there were a lot more children AND adults that could think like that.

My miracle message fro the day. Shelly I needed to be reminded of the true spririt of giving as I agonize over what to stuff the stockings with. So I am going to ask Santa to guide me so that my daughters have as kind and loving a heart as your daughter does.

You are one special Mom. Peave and joy right back at ya!

Julie

Further on this... Sophie doesn't know that I picked this up off her desk. I think, when she asks where it is, I will feign ignorance;) Maybe Santa really DID pick it up, using his North Pole magic. What do you all think?

yep tell her santa picked it up. i did something like that with viola. i had gottne her new boots but it snowed earlier then usual this year so when i asked her to go clean her room i pulled out the wrapped gift. you know she did such a good job that day too, anyway i told that b/c it was snowing out and she did the BEST job with her room santa dropped off this present. she was so happy that she had new boots. then again i can wrapped up garbage and she would be so happy to unwrapped. LOL
