I don't know what the "experts" say about the percentages (and they change their minds every week anyway so who cares??), but I know for myself and my body, I could workout like a fiend for hours everyday but if I'm not mindful of what I eat, I gain weight. And way too quickly these days! Gotta love that perimenopausal thing, you know? NOT! LOL!! I do agree with others on here who say it's an individual thing. To get the best results I think you need to find what works for YOU and YOUR body, and stay with that.
I lost 60 pounds and seven sizes in six months two years ago by working out five hours a week and following Weight Watchers to the letter. Everytime my weight creeps back up, I go back to counting points and it comes right back off again. The workouts are more for mental and physical health, and because I love to freak people out when they never guess I'm almost 48! LOL!! But seriously, working out alone without watching what I eat doesn't make me lose weight. God bless the person who can and that's wonderful for them, but I know I have to watch what I eat as well. I had a much easier time with the whole food issue once I accepted it as nothing more than fuel, as opposed to a reward.
