Wendy...Ajock is right. Many of us do not "look" like we work out. But you what? We are healthier for it, our quality of life is better than those who do not work out, and, like Ajock said, we get a certain inner empowerment. Our self esteem goes up. The only reason you feel bad is because you are tying your self esteem purely to how you look now. Look at what you have accomplished!! It is amazing! To go from being unfit and overweight and not really exercising to losing weight and doing CATHE is a wonderful achievment. Most people will never get off the couch!!
Don't forget, people sometimes get jealous. They look at what you have accomplished and wish they could have the discipline to do the same. Instead of complimenting, they tear down. Maybe this is what your DH is doing oh-so-innocently. I am not bashing him, but I would bet that he doesn't feel that cool about himself physically or emotionally.
My DH loves me to death and honestly, he is probably in the smart category being that he would have a different reply even if it was a lie , but believe me, he doesn't mind at all when I miss a few workouts because it makes him feel better for being lazy....
It is the American way...
Don't feel bad. Instead, look at how exercise makes you FEEL and not how it makes you LOOK. You have accomplished alot and should be very proud!! Congrats on your weight loss!!
