My DIL's family update

I got a call at 10:30 last night. It was my DIL. I can hardly believe it, but her cousin's family did not die in the hurricaine. The hotel they were suppose to be at was destroyed but they had decided to go to another hotel for whatever reason to ride out the storm and the family did not know that. I didn't ask DIL many questions yesterday when she called me with news of their death because she was so upset but apparently the only "confirmation" of their deaths was the destruction of that hotel and the family just assumed since they had had no contact with them.

My DIL was so relieved and so overcome with emotion when I was talking to her. I just can't believe the emotional rollercoaster this family and hundreds of families are on at this time. I don't know why the cousin hadn't been in contact but I am sure it is because she couldn't. Communication isn't the best down there. DIL has a hard time getting through.

Thanks everybody for your thoughts and prayers!! There are many many more families down there that need them.
 
I am glad that there is good news amongst all the tragedy. I am hoping that the inability to communicate and not death is the reason that so many others have not heard from their loved ones.

Holy WOW, Jane! That is sooo amazing! So wonderful! I am ecstatic for your DIL and her family! What a gift from God for that to happen.

Now don't we wish everyone else down there was that lucky?

DH told me that 50 people died all in one apartment building in MS I think! Can you imagine? I guess they had no where to go and the building was destroyed and they all died. How terrible.
 
All I can say is, Praise the Lord!! With so many tragic stories, it is so awesome to hear something good! I am so happy for you and your family! I will definitely keep praying.

What wonderful news. :) I can't imagine what those families are going through right now. My heart goes out to them.
