I've got some last-minute errands to run, so I wanted to post before I head out. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR KIND WISHES!!
You have no idea how much it means to me from this community. You all are the BEST. Some of you have seen this already via e-mail, but I wanted it on the boards as well. Even though my plan is not to wear my shirt until Sunday, I will still carry it in my camel-backpack.

My daily dedication for 60 miles.
DAY ONE , August 17th - The first 20 miles are dedicated to those of you who are facing, have faced, and/or are supporting someone facing breast cancers issues. Your strength and courage is what motivates me to take each step along this route. I will walk for you and in support of you, saying a silent prayer with each stride that together we can AND WILL overcome this disease. My web page has a picture of my husband’s recently deceased grandmother who was a breast cancer survivor. And while we may not be able to prevent the onset of this cancer, like Grandma Thorne, everyone stricken should be able to call themselves a survivor!
DAY TWO, August 18th - The second 20 miles are dedicated to those of you - my friends, family, colleagues, and even complete strangers, who have so generously made donations to this cause! THANK YOU. Truly, without you, I would not be able to walk for them! You have made my commitment to this walk possible, through your monetary donations, and your time donations - as you have assumed responsibilities that allowed me the time to train. With each step on day two, I will endeavor to make your contribution more meaningful than you could ever imagine.
DAY THREE, August 19th - The last 20 - the hardest part - are dedicated to you my fellow Catheites! Because I know that just when I will need it the most, your energy, your strength, your stamina, your commitment, your love, and your support will be with me EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. I will be wearing it on my back and drawing from each and every one of you. For those RTers and Cathe.com friends whose names appear on the shirt I will wear this day - your hands touched that shirt as you signed and will now help me reach into the deepest part of my soul and achieve the highest quest that I will be aiming for on day 3. We walk this day as a team, because I AM 105 fit-women strong! (Actually - even MORE than 105, as I carry ALL of your heartfelt wishes with me.) I could not have begun training for this event without the fitness that comes from Cathe.
It is my sincere hope that the Catheites’ strength, stamina, and commitment, together with the generosity of spirit and funds from donors, can culminate in the courage that is needed for all patients, survivors, and families to stay strong, as together we seek and obtain a cure.
The 3-day: 3 days, 60 miles, 1 cure.
I’ll see you on the flip side!
