No kidding!!! I cut into one last night and she went into a frenzy!! I got myself a big bowl and put it on the floor next to her while I went to the bathroom (we were sitting together :) and when I came back she was absolutely feasting on it!!! I had to get her her own dish and mash it up for her!!! She could not get enough!

Anyone else notice this? Does your cat have a craving that just floors you?

She likes Tostitos too. Corn products seem to be big with cats too. She prefers to drink my water though in lieu of her own. Figures.;-)

What a funny cat! Janice, I posted this on some thread not long ago, but my big black carnivorous cat, ate a kidney bean I dropped on the floor. I didn't offer him anymore, 'cause I was hungry & I wasn't sharing. He was looking at me rather expectantly, though.

Our cat licks the butter (ewwww), but that's pretty typical, isn't it?

Off topic, but I'm pregnant and sick and I suddenly have a sharp craving for cantaloupe. Thank you for putting it in the title, because now I have an idea what hubby can go get me to eat and it's healthy.:9

My one siamese will eat just about ANYTHING and the other siamese
likes corn, cheezits, guacamole doritos and the fluffy cheese curls.
I have to cut them off if I give them a taste or they'll just keep eating!!!

:)

Mine lllooovvvee strawberry or raspberry anything - fresh ones, yogurt, frozen yogurt etc. They have no shame - if I don't watch out they dip their paws right in.

Buzzards!

And Cuck-koo is my nickname for my cat "Kiki" - they're Lulu and Kiki - aka Koo Koo and Loco. Never had such crazy cats before!!

My now-departed kitty used to love broccoli and popcorn. Anything corn, in fact. He once used his paw to make a hole in a box of corn muffins I left on a countertop and ate the tops off of all the muffins.

Cantaloupe doesn't upset your cat's stomach??

I used to have a cat that loved salad. I couldn't put a bowl of salad on the table, or he'd be right up there and I'd catching him dragging lettuce leaves down the hall to feast on! He liked asparagus too.

The other one liked those powdered sugar donuts!

One of my cats thinks he's a vegetarian - I've caught him eating black beans out of a colander in the sink, tofu, cucumber, tomatoes, breakfast cereal, you name it. He pretty much likes to eat whatever I'm eating. Silly kitty! I told him he can't be a vegetarian, but he doesn't listen to me... ;)

I think cantaloupe is actually not a strange craving for a cat. I've seen cat books that list it as a possible occasional snack.

I had a cat (Frisco, RIP), who loved strawberries! Not fresh, but strawberry jam (fruit sweetened). The first time he begged me for some when I was eating it, I though "Right, and the minute I give you some, you'll turn your nose up at it." But he didn't! (Probably just to spite me).

He also liked what I called "bean juice": the drained juice from cans of beans (mainly kidney beans). And he'd tackle the corn that was left on a cob of corn after I ate most of it off.

And Scooter sometimes likes a bit of lettuce.

One of my cats also loves cantaloupe! She eats small pieces, or just licks the juice off. She also steals lettuce.

Another one of my kittys eats tofu, beans, etc. But the really weird thing she eats is plastic bags, like from the grocery storex( !
We never leave them lying around, but by the time I get finished carrying in all of the bags, she is on the table, chewing away!

I also had a kitty who was crazy about baby's breath in floral arrangements. She would leave the other flowers alone, but eat out all of the baby's breath!

But the

My cat Bobsie likes to LICK plastic bags like this! She never tries to chew on them or eat them, but she seems to derive some pleasure from licking them (especially in times of stress). I imagine she was born in an alley, next to some plastic bags, and licking them brings back memories of her birth mother!

I thought that my Nekko was the only kitty who liked plastic. That is a sweet idea about the plastic bags in the alley. Nekko was about a year old when we got her from the ASCPA, so she might have a similar experience. I have heard that some kitties suffer from a form of pico (eating non-edible things, like dirt). That story was about a cat who licked photographs. I thought that maybe Nekko has pico, but I like the alley story much better!

one of the cats I used to have loved to eat corn right off the cob. he would drag the cob away and sometimes Id leave the little corn holders in it just to see if he'd use them..haha
my other cat used to love friendlys watermelon sherbet and god forbid if you wanted whipped cream on anything. Youd have to go hide to use it cuz as soon as he heard the whooshing noise hed be right at your feet crying nonstop.

my cat loves popcorn. Maybe she would like me to pop a movie in while I'm serving?

"you miss 100% of the shots you never take"

My kitty chews on these bags too!! I think she likes the noise it makes because she usually does it early in the morning when she tries to wake me up.

The only cat I had that ever ate any human food was a rescue Persian I had. I think it had to eat "whatever" to survive. Unfortunately, she thought nothing of coming right over and trying to pounce on your plate. My other two cats were pretty boring food-wise.

My cats have always loved the plastic bags also. They also go after the plastic Easter grass and icicles for the Christmas tree - we have to be careful with that stuff because they will eat it.

one of my cats will go into the garbage to find plastic to chew on. He loves it!! Especially if it's tape or something sticky.
He's a nutball.

He also likes to chew on pens, anything hard plastic, the phone, etc. His latest is chewing on my clock in the morning. I keep telling him if he bites it and breaks it, I'll never wake up to give him breakfast...
