My 20 mile Trail Race

YAAAAAAAAAY Carole!!:) Awesome job, Kali's right....YOU ROCK:) ! I hope your ankle is feeling better today. Your tenacious spirit is truly inspiring Carole. It's so cool that it was a family affair and that you finished in better time than last year, WOW!!

I'm thinking a massage would be a lovely reward for your successful run;) :)

Take Care
Laurie:)

Way to go Carol! 20 miles is really something! I feel so priviliged to be acquainted with such strong (physically, mentally and emotionally) women! People like you inspire me to push a little harder myself. By the way, where was the run?

Jeanette

Congratulations Carole!!! I am proud of you! You did GREAT!!! I am so glad you didn't hurt yourself when you fell. I hope that some day I can run in a marathon like you. :)

WOW!! Congrats, Carole!! What an accomplishment!! I guess nothing can hold you down!! Super Woman!! I hope you heal quickly. Great Job!

Carole,

Congratulations and great time! You're always such an inspiration. I love reading your posts and I'm glad things are going well for you.

Oh, how's your ankle now?

Hey Carole! Congratulations, it sounds like a great race. I think meeting different people during those long hours was the best part of marathoning. That long distance camaraderie is something very special. Just take care of that ankle now. Mari

Thanks Marla....my sister did get (Phil's) email address so we can keep in contact as we are adding him and his son to our prayer list at church..

Becky....Thank you, if only I could get a million for doing that!!!

Jane...thanks..:)...yes trail runs at any distance are fun to me..

Thanks Cath...my ankle is actually ALOT better today.

Judy...thanks...I was a bit concerned with the 3 day a week running. I am sure the Imaxes and circuit workouts helped me very much..

Kali...good morning to you...as I said my ankle is much better and I am really not as sore as i thought that downhill running woud make me...:)

Laurie...thank you!...okay then, I'm coming over for that massage...:)

Thanks Jeanette...the run was in Pollock Pines CA. On the way to Lake Tahoe. We ran around this beautiful lake that I did occasionally look at, but better to keep my eyes on the trail...:)

Sabrina...thanks....I'm glad I didn't hurt anything to bad either. You can take some nasty spills on trails...

Thanks Edie...:)

Thanks Carla...I know Cathe's workout do help me keep strong and healing shouldn't take too long...

Wendy...thank you. How are you feeling?? I see it is getting very close. How exciting!!

Thanks Missy...:)

Hey Mari!! Thanks...meeting some great people is of course something you do look forward to in this kind of run. I am doing yardwork today and letting my body relax...:)

All of you ladies are really sweet....and have made my day...:)...Carole

Carole ~ Wow! You go! That is awesome! I couldn't even imagine doing 20 miles right now and I love to run. You were really clipping along! What a great time...4:03! Take care of that ankle!

I always enjoy your posts as well.

Have a great day.

Dallas

Carole, I am impressed with your running ability! Way to go! I'm glad you didn't sprain your ankle. That happened to my friend/running partner last year and she was sidelined for alot longer than she liked.

I picked up a trail running magazine (can't remember the name of it) a few weeks ago thinking I'd get some information about where I might find a race to try but found nothing. I was somewhat disappointed with the magazine. After this marathon I don't think I want to do any more but at the same time I'd like to have a running goal. Where can I find some information? Maybe we'll end up at the same race in the future!!!

I'm still doing the FIRST training and am so glad to hear it worked well for you. I'll be doing my last mega long run next weekend and will be so glad to have that behind me. :)

Congratulations again! I sincerely mean it when I say you are an inspiration.:)

Way to go, Carole!:) What an accomplishment! And that man you met has such a touching story. I bet you meet a lot of awesome people in your runs, not to mention, bypass all the younger hot chicks, which I sure bet feels damn good!.;-) :7 Have a good rest. I hope your ankle doesn't bother you that much.

Pinky

Congratulations Carole!! What a great accomplishment for you, and so much faster than last year to boot.

You are truly an inspiration to all of us here on the forums.

Diana

Carole! WOW! What a run! To keep on going after you twisted your ankle...whoa!!! 12 minutes faster than last year is really impressive. You and Dani just inspire the dickens out of me all the time.

Angie

Thanks Dallas, Kathryn, and Robyn...:)..the ankle seems better today. My nephew is a Chiropractor and I'll have him look at it tomorrow..

Elaine...thanks...:)...your best bet for finding Trail races near you is to check with a local running club. I know alot of runners and find the trails runs by word of mouth. It would be fun to meet at one..I've had Trail Runner mag for the last year. Its ok but I like Runners World better.

Yes the FIRST training did work well. I know you will feel alot better when you get in your last long run next weekend. Thank you again and let us know how next weekend goes...:)

Thanks Pinky...Phil was a great inspiration to us. We did pass some ladies....I am sure they were younger...:)

Thanks Jes, Nancy, and Robin...:)

Diana and Angie...thank you..being a bit faster is always nice...:)...Carole
