Muscle Fatigue

Cathe I don't know if can answer this for me, I have been taking 800 mg's of Ibuprophin in the mornings to deal with scoliosis. that has been getting better, I feel pretty good, I TRY to eat healthy but I have to admit I can't seem to stay away from peanut M&M's LOL so I guess you can say my diet is not all that clean.
I feel pretty good in the mornings and feel like I can get a workout in, but about half hour into it I have to stop because the muscles in my body begin to feel fatigued and weak. Is this just a strengthening thing that will be cured with weight training?
I am pretty pumped with vitamins. is there more I can take? or is there such a thing as getting in to many vitamins?

Hi Leslie, I'm not Cathe but I have been where you are... taking painkillers for your scoliosis. Mine were prescription strength (I forget the name now) that I had to take with Celebrex and Zanaflex, a muscle relaxant. At the time I was carrying around an 18-lb. super colic baby 24/7, and the muscles on my back against which the upper curvature of my spine was resting were doing involuntary spasms. Simply put, my back gave out and I had to go to physical therapy. In PT, I learned the importance of easing myself into exercise, using only weight that I can handle with proper form (which Cathe stresses a lot), and stretching my back not only before and after exercising, but all throughout the day.

If you are getting too fatigued immediately, you may be using weights that are too heavy. Try to lighten up and see how you feel. It takes time to develop strength and endurance. Also, are you sleeping well? It's hard to get through an intense routine when you aren't properly rested. We all have our food weaknesses, but do try to lower your carb intake. You don't have to lower it so much cold turkey, but try to take out one bad carb a week. Cookies this week, potato chips next week... I find that when I eat too much bad carbs, I feel sluggish and would rather sleep than work out. As for the vitamins, there is such a thing as getting too much. Too much vitamin A can make you sick. Just recently I read that too much chromium may badly affect your DNA, and too much calcium taken over time can calcify your muscles. I hope this helps.
