muscle endurance

I have several of Cathe's tapes and just ordered the bodyblast dvd. I really wanted the boot camp dvd, but wasn't as interested in the muscle endurance that went with it. I have MIS, PS series, cardio and weights(all vhs) and now the body blast(dvd). I feel like I have so many weight training tapes. How is the muscle endurance and is it too similar to the other weight training tapes.
Thanks for the input. Upgrading to DVD has become expensive.

Hi Lizzy!

I just did ME for the first time on Saturday and have to say that it was one of the toughest tapes I've ever done. It really fatigues your muscles and I found myself using light weights and still struggling. The abs section is a killer. At the beginning Cathe says the workout can be done 1-3 times per week.

I found myself sitting back a few times and watching Cathe with complete amazement. My 5-year-old son likes to watch me exercise and told me that if I keep practicing, maybe one day I'll be able to do all that, too! I sure hope so!

Hope this helps!

Hi Lizzy,

I absolutely love Muscle Endurance. I've had the dvd ever since the Intesities were released, but have only in the last 5 weeks begun using it. I am a fan of Power Hour as well, and have done that video a LOT. ME is such a refreshing change! I love the music, Cathe is great (but when is she not great?), the girls all look fantastically fit and I always feel completely worked out (in a good way) from head to toe when I'm finished. I have been using this one on Saturday mornings and I feel great the whole day!

Lizzy,

Muscle Endurance is a great workout. I think it's good to vary the way you do your weight work, and each of Cathe's workouts is unique and allows you to do that (listen to me, I've only been doing her workouts since late Dec. 2002, and I'm already hooked). The DVDs are well worth the price, because you get so much more than just the workouts on VHS. There are a number of premixes for both the Boot Camp and ME workouts; for instance, with ME, you can do a slightly shorter version of the total body workout, if you're limited on time, or you can do upper and lower body splits as well (the lower body split is tough!). The Boot Camp workout has similar premixes (all cardio, just lower body, just upper, just core, everything but core, etc, etc), and there's even a bonus that combines Boot Camp and ME. I even think the Intensity Series DVDs would make purchasing a DVD player worth it, if you didn't have one, just for all the variety you get in terms of workouts!

Hi Lizzy,
I did ME yesterday (haven't done that one in a while) and forgot how great it is. The time went really fast and I felt like I got a great workout.

Hi Lizzy,
I actually sent a similar question to Cathe before I made my puchase. Below is Cathe's reply to me.

Hi Susan! Any of the weight tapes that I make can be as hard or easy as you want them to be based on the weight that you choose. If I am using a weight that is too light for you, most definitely increase it to where you are finding it challenging. For instance, in Muscle Endurance, I think you may find yourself going heavier than the weight that I selected since I know I did not max out on my weight selection. Actually, when we film videos we usually film quite a few in a small time period. Therefore I do not use my maximum weight load so that I am able to film the entire series without extreme fatigue or DOMS

It is very very good, different. But if you want something really different from what you already have, you should get Slow and Heavy and then get the others later, IMO. I have them all. If I had to make do with just those few, I'd get S&H next.

Connie,
What is HTH? All of a sudden I've seen that 3 times today and have no idea what it means! Am I the only one?

Hi Jo!

HTH=Hope that helps! :)

Funny, I didn't know either this morning and on another board I saw it. I was going over in my head, "Head-To-Head," nah, "Here to Help," mmm. And finally, I figured out through context "Hope that helps!" I dashed over here and of course this educated crowd had already responded. I can't keep up with verbal slang either. deq

I've always used it as Happy To Help :) Though, I've thought of it as Hope That Helps at times too :)

I agree with Lisa! Actually, Muscle Endurance is my FAVORITE Cathe video of all! It is very intense, non-stop, and hits every muscle group you didn't even know you had! I like to do total body when I lift, so this video is perfect for that because it is total body.

It is a great challenge and worth the buy!

Hope that helps!
