Hi, FrenchFriedShrimp -
I sincerely believe that we can give you positive input, and suggestions for a motivating rotation, only to a certain degree. At some point, motivation has to come from inside. True motivation cannot come from others; it must come from within. We can be here to validate your efforts and share what has worked for each of us individually, but there comes a point where it must be said, "If it is to be, it is up to me."
IMHO, what might work for you as an external motivator is to create a 4-week Shrimp's Favorite Workouts schedule. Forget about outcome-based rotations that promise high-falutin' body shaping results. Simple select your favorite cardio and strength workouts, and DO THESE FOR FOUR WEEKS. If that means you repeat a few workouts or modes, so what? Me, if I don't do Circuit Max, I-Max The Original, and my special Hi/Lo Hell mish-moshes at least twice each per month I get the heebie jeebies. And if I don't do the Boot Camp cardio-only premix at least six times a month . . . ibid.
I think we often forget that working out can be fun as well as . . . well, work. And given your current selection of DVDs and vids, I have no doubt that you can crank up a really fun, enjoyable schedule.
Motivation is a tricky thing. There will always be times when there's a scheduled workout session that you just don't feel like doing. There will always be times when you work out from a sense of duty rather than eager anticipation. And that is perfectly okay. Just as long as you do it, or do something, you'll get the eager anticipation back.
I hope this hasn't turned into a screed. Probably it has, a little bit. But I stand by my suggestion to take a few minutes, select Shrimps Four-Week Faves, and do them. And let us know how that comes out.
A-Jock
