Most dreaded body part to work...

most dreaded body part to work... I don’t know why, but I hate to do lower body. :p My legs tire out so quickly, and I get bored easily. I dread doing lower body work every single time. I love to do upper body though. Am I alone in this?

I have to agree with you. I think it's two reasons with me:

1). It's not a "part" like biceps are a "part", it's quads, hamstrings, calves, inner, outer thigh, glutes... so it takes forever.

2) It's one thing when your biceps get tired and burn, it's another when it's the quads. More pain!! And then you have to do the hamstrings, calves, etc.

So, I dread leg workouts more than anything else, then the next day, I'm sore when I do cardio, but I have to do it anyway. Sore biceps don't really affect much.

I am right there with you as well!!! My legs do not have the strength that my upper body has. I get really bored as well. I LOVE doing upper body... I think because that is the part of my body that I want to see transformed sooo badly! My friend often reminds me that, to burn the most amount of fat, you need to work every portion of your body. Remember, the more muscle you have , the less fat you have ALL OVER!!! Goodluck on the lower body workouts!!!

For me personally, I don't mind lower body. I absolutely dread working biceps though!! When I do PUB, I actually stop after the triceps, get something to drink, give myself a much needed pep talk, and THEN resume. I need that pep talk to get me through that "out of body experience" that I too have right along with Cathe and crew!!

I also dread doing lower body. And my least favorite move is those static lunges.I hate them.My toes get jammed up in the tops of my shoes,Im wobbling all over the place.
With PLB and Slow and Heavy I don't mind doing lower body b/c I know I don't have to do any low ends, and I can manage to do 8 lunges with 50 pounds. But I ain't do'in 30 with 20 pounds, like in PowerHour.Don't get me wrong, I love the video once I have it done, but I dread doing it.

Yep, lower body sucks and those push-ups run a close second. Love to work biceps, though. There's just something about actually seeing those muscles pump up during curls. Apparently, we're not alone when it comes to dreading lower body work--"Muscle and Fitness Hers" interviewed many of the women fitness competitors and one question they asked was about their least favorite body part to work. I guess you know what many of the answers were!

Lori, I hear you on those static lunges!! PS legs starts out with them and depending on my mood, the whole tape can go downhill from there! Surprisingly, once I get started it's not so bad. Abdominals, however, are killer. I've NEVER enjoyed doing those and seriously fear them!

Lori,
I just did Torture Hour today, and I feel exactly the same as you. I talk myself through it like some kind of two year old. "You can do these lunges, you did them last time, you aren't weaker today than you were last time", etc...I really need to pump myself up for those static lunges. Also, I'm dying here! I never knew there were 30 of those beasts! I was better off ignorant! I hear you about the toe being jammed. Today I tried it barefoot on carpet. Not the best idea, too slippery. But, on the other hand, it feels great when we switch to dumbells. I also look at Cathe with amazement when she uses 35# for the triceps. That is my weakest part. So, I guess I dread lower body most, but feel weakest in the triceps.

LB for me, too. I also wonder if I'll ever catch up with Cathe with the weight she uses in PH!

PS Legs/Abs is much kinder to me than PH so I do it more often. PH seems to be a harder lower body workout, even though the lower body portion is so much shorter than PSLA. It's the lunges that have developed a dread factor for me. I should do them a little more often with lighter weight.

But there are so many other workouts that Cathe has made that are so delightful that I don't force myself to do PH very often.

TRRRRRRRRRRRIIIICEPS!!! (triceps!) I hate hate to do tricep work, it burns more than anything on me, and I get sore from doing alot of tricep work!
Everything else is ok, although, I would rather be doing cardio instead of weight work!

Those Squats kill me!!!! My heart rate shoots up so fast when I do squats. I think it's because it's the largest muscle group iin the body. I suppose that's why many woman have trouble with the behind and lower body....those muscles are tough.;)

I'm another lower body work hater! Lunges are the worst thing I can possibly think of. I like the kind in Cardio & Weights though. For some reason, I find them most do-able. Squats are ok, plies are ok, just not the lunges!

I think it's wierd too b/c she always says your legs are the strongest, but I dont feel that way.

I can push my arm work alot more, but when I'm doing lunges I will just fatigue & quit. I don't know why.. I can't do all the legwork in PH, but I'm thinking I get thru the upper body pretty well.

Pushups too, can't do them very well, but I will work up to it, and I find it easier to try to do just one more on them also.

I find Cathe's ab work killer too.. I can't get thru all of it either, but that's good for me to know, I can work up to it.

Any and all core work. It just wipes me out. I have to
stop half way through pikes on the ball to catch my breath. I've
been working at it for years and they never get easier!x(

Definitely lower body #1 and core #2! That would prove maybe why those are my 2 fattest areas.

I dread lower body each and every time. I HATE lunges. However, the new Intensity Series makes it a lot more fun!

Abs-- and they need it the most

I dread doing ab work... even though I'm starting to see results from my Cathe/ Pilates work, I still dread doing them. I either want to fall asleep or get really hungry when I do ab work.

I like working both my upper body and lower body, though, although I had to take a month-long break from lower body because of some knee problems.

I wonder.........Do you think that maybe if we spread our lunge routines out over the day rather than doing it all at once in a specific hour it would make it easier as well as effective or do you think it would be easier but less effective? Because I hate, hate, hate lunges too. Squats and lunges just kill me. and I agree, it's strange that these are supposedly our strongest muscle group. I can work my arms a lot harder too. I'm just guessing it's because I don't put my larger muscles to use as much as I do my hands and arms. Plus I think the back muscles help the arms out, where as there aren't a lot of muscles helping our legs...except for our stomache. and on that note, I find that if I do an abdominal routine before hand (short 5 minute one), I can push myself harder with lunges and squats. Must be the core thing. :) I'm going to have to expiriment with the lunges and see if there is a difference when spread out through out the day. I'll let ya know the outcome.;-)

STATIC LUNGES!!!!!!

Those are the pits!!!!!! But, I do have a better time of it if I use dumbells instaed of a barbell so I have been doing that. The thing I dread the most though is cardio. I just really do not like it. I do weights over cardio any day.
