More success, life-changing stories...

In honor of our incredible Donna and her story, I wonder if there are others who would share how fitness and healthy lifestyle changes have transformed their lives. I know not everyone has lost over 200 pounds (still boggles my mind!) but who else has their own story that could motivate us all? I know several of you out there have fought the battles of addictions, eating disorders, etc. and WON! Please share if you feel comfortable. I love reading these...-Heather

Heather, I was going to post a thread asking for success stories and what others have accomplished :) I'm glad you did this!

I am relatively new to Cathe. I started my fitness journey on Aug. 19th with Body for Life. Four wks later, I began PS workouts with BFL nutrition. My 12 wk challenge will end Nov 3rd.

I have not lost a lot of weight yet so doubt that this is very inspiring. I will post my stats anyway:

Chest: 40.5"
Waist: 32"
Hips: 38.5"
Arms: 12"; 12"
Thighs: 21"

Thighs: 20

I'm 5'4" and weigh 133, 2#s lighter...

Hi dee c,

You have just inspired me to get out my tape measure tonight, I can't believe the difference in your measurements in the space of two months !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done you ! :)

Anna

Thanks, Anna :) Yes, definitely get out your tape measure!!! I measured at the beginning and waited 4 wks, thinking I hadn't had any changes. I was happy to find that I had lost 8". That motivated me so much! So, measure and let us know :)

I thought my overall progress was slow! Of course, there are other changes that are probably the most important. I am taking such better care of myself now. I feel so much better too, even on those days when it's hard to sit or stand 'cause my legs and butt are so sore ;-)

Eating healthier and taking CLA has improved my severely dry skin. Before the 'transformation', I had to oil my skin after every shower or bath or my skin would get powdery. Now, I don't have to worry about it. Also, my hair and nail look healthier too.

About 15 years ago on Christmas I took a good look at myself inside and out and didn't like what I saw. I was about 30 pounds overweight, partying too much and simply not happy with my life. My boyfriend was not the man I wanted and my life seemed to be going no where.
The day after this my girlfriend called and asked if I'd like to take an aerobics class with her. She said it was a new "step" type thing. I said sure. I was so glad I did!! The lady who taught the class was so much like Cathe. The energy, the spirit and motivation just kept me going back. She helped me gain confidence.I started keeping a food journal (and keep one to this day). I stopped eating out for lunch, I stopped going out at night with everyone,I dumped my boyfriend. I felt so good!
Within about 3 months I lost the 30 pounds and saw a whole new me in the mirror. I met my husband shortly there after.:D
I was lucky to have a strong support sytem helping me. My Mom was simply awesome. My 4 brothers are all body builders so they helped me with sculpting and nutrition. I read eveything I could get my hands on about living healthy and exercise.
I was afraid when I got pregnant the first time that I'd revert back to my old self. I did gain 42 pounds with both pregnancies but took off quickly once I got back at it.
It takes as much inner strength as well as physical to lose weight- no matter if it's as little as 5 pounds or as much as 200! Stay focused, stay true to yourself. It can happen!! :)
All the best - Susan
