Morning Moms,
I did Travel Fit this morning. I just wanted to see if I would like it. I will probalby walk this afternoon. I'm glad I will have TF to take with me to Fl in March.
Mel-so sorry about your night..makes me tired thinking about it! I love naps! A 20 min power nap makes me feel fab! Glad you were able to give Jen some drug advice! Yes, Dh is a happer camper this morning lol.
I had to express a little milk..I was hurting! Kara has already been up, nursed a couple times and is back asleep.

Weather is going to be great today. Sunny and mid 60s. Not sure what we are doing today.

Eats so far
old fash oatmeal, walnuts


Oh, Stromboli was good..I am feeling very heavy because of it!

Thanks for starting us up, Susan. BTW, did you ever make steel oats in your crockpot?

When DH came home, I made a beeline to my bed....slept a solid two hours. Feel much much better. :)

I had instant oatmeal, 1/2 sliced banana, slivered almonds for my first breakfast....

Now I just had my staple: 2 eggs over hard & a slice of meatloaf

That seems like alot of food to me! It was as if my first meal "didn't register"?

Last week I had a total wt gain of one pound.

Today I'm down a pound, hopefully this means a productive week.

Melanie-I usually make my steel oats on the stovetop and make a triple batch. I have never tried the crock pot, but heard it works great! So glad you got some sleep!!!!!!

That pic is too cute!! Do you make a triple batch, then save two days worth in fridge? What do use to sweeten it?

Did u like travel fit? I did it once & enjoyed it. That is my type of strength training. LOL Not sure what I"m going to do today. Maybe I will follow suit and do that one & some stretching. I'm so stiff all the time. Maybe I could do squat thrusts if I was less stiff!
 
Yes, Melanie I save the oatmeal in the fridge. I don't sweeten it..I know Im wierd, but I like my oatmeal plain.
I did like TF..it was a nice change of pace.

Day 1 of Abs Diet

B(2) : oatmeal, 1/2 banana, 1/4 cup slivered almonds
S: none
L(1) :2 eggs, 1 slice meat loaf, Diet Soda
S(2): Protein Smoothie, 10 almonds
D(2): 3 slices Veggie Pizza, 8 oz milk (yes!!! thin crust pizza is allowed)
S(1): Protein Smoothie or vitamuffin

(8) Powerfoods---from Abs Diet

I plan on going on elliptical later tonight.

Melanie-great job on your eats today! Mine havent been quite as stellar as yours. I meant to ask you about staying up til midnight...are you a night person or is there another reason?? I have always been a morning person. Its 7:45 here. Kara is on my shoulder zonked out..Im gonna put her down in a few, do a few chores then Im hitting the sack too. Im hoping her going to bed so early doesnt mess her up too bad. She has been laughing all afternoon..we wore her out today.

Jen-hope you are feeling better.

Susan, did you have fun at Walmart?

I guess I'm a night person? At least without my Ambien & with weeones. LOL!!! DH takes a twin to bed with him around 8PM and they often scream for close to an hour before falling asleep. I have so much to do---straighten up the house, pay bills, make lunches,hang out with DS1, play on the computer ----I would rather stay up later & play I guess. :eek: I can do WHATEVER I WANT!!!!

So you think my food menu looks better, huh? It felt so naughty eating the pizza. There are so many good recipes in Abs Diet Book that I"m eager to try. Lots of different smoothie, breakfasts, and lunches that look good. It also allows for one "cheat" meal/week.....which is very appealing to me!!! You can bet that I"ll be swallowing it down with the largest canister of Mountain Dew I can find!!! LOL
 
Hey everyone! I'm hangin in there, not feeling too bad just sneezing a ton and have the drips. I think I am headed to bed in a few.

Good job on the food Melanie! I hope this new diet jumpstarts some more weight loss for you. THanks for the drug advice. The Allegra helped for awhile today but then it wore off. Hopefully sleep will help.

James laughed out loud today for the first time. It was the cutest thing and a day I will remember. He is just a wiggle worm and such a happy boy.

Just a vent.... my DH calls my MIL to talk and mentions that I am sick. Her response "Well, she shouldn't be around the baby. She'll get him sick!" Really? So am I supposed to quarantine myself from my child? Get a grip woman! She has really started to drive me batty since James was born. I love my DH to death but lord does his mother piss me off! Thanks for that....feel better already. :)

Melanie-does your twin stay up with you or can you put her down and play? You and your Mountain Dew!!!!

Jen-MIL's can be so grrr sometimes!!! Oh mine put me through the ringer for years! Now shes in her 80's and finally mellow lol. Glad you are feeling better!

I am off to bed. Melanie, lets see who can get more power foods in tomorrow!
 
Susan, my twin sleeps while on elliptical, then awakes and hangs with me for the remainder of the evening. They are typical newborns, love to be held. They have this type of mentality, "I am a princess! Do NOT put me down!!!" LOL

Yes, let's see how creative we can get with our power foods!! The goal is to have at least 2 per meal/snack and to eat 6x/day.....so actually I didn't do to well....but it was my first day.

The Abs Diet concentrates on strength training more than aerobic. :eek: I"ll have to add some more weight training, I suppose!!!

My pants are starting to fit. Not sure if it's b/c I"ve stretched them out these past few weeks trying them on, or if I'm actually getting smaller? I"m going to have to do some measurements here soon.
 
Melanie-they fit because you are shrinking! Im gonna print out the powerfoods list and put on my fridge! I enjoy cardio, but really love strength!

Kara got up at 1 and 5 but went right back to sleep. Not sure what workout to do today. I did Travel Fit yesterdy which I guess is "strength" so I might do cardio today then go heavy tomorow.

Well I had fever in the middle of the night and then it broke. Still feeling shaky and weak so I decided to stay home today from work. Still congested and snotty too. Yuck! I'm glad to be home but its hard because I have all this time today and I CAN"T WORK OUT! AGGHH! Maybe I'll lose some weight because I'm sick???? ;)

What are these power foods you ladies speak of??

Susan- Glad Kara went right back to sleep for you. James got up Sat night after 3 hrs but it was because he scooted around in the crib and his blanket was over his face. I am SO GLAD he woke me up for that.

Melanie- Hope you got some sleep. Hopefully your pants fit because you are shrinking but it could also be because your hips have moved back some. I noticed a little difference in the past month or so. I wish I would've done measurements to know for sure. Oh well....

Priscila- I loved your pics of Daniel on FB! He is adorable!

Christine- How is the weather? Did it stop raining? How is little John doing?

Weighed myself this AM & I'm back to 153 ---which is where I was before I mysteriously gained a couple pounds last week. I haven't done measurements yet, but I think you're right Jen about the hips.

I'm feeling more at "peace" about the whole situation though. I get so fixated on things....and I don't want to be so fixated on this (wt loss & body retention) that I"m not enjoying my family....which IS the most important thing in the world to me. It seems as if I am spending more and more of my life "reseting my mind" nowadays. LOL

Susan, I already did that! My fridge is covered with The Abs Diet Cheat Sheet of foods and their Target Wheel. Have you seen the target wheel? I'm such a dork---I blew up the bull's eye 150% and colored it in with colored pencils. LOL

Jen, The Abs Diet has "power foods"

I LOVE the foods in the diet. I'm so excited about trying this out. Since tracking my nutrition, I've noticed how much I'm out of balance.

Maybe I'll do Step Moves too. Haven't done that one yet. Do you like it? I've been adding upper body work to my cardio at the end, working biceps, triceps & shoulders. I also have been trying to stretch really good afterwards. I have Stretch Max, but have never done it!!! LOL

John is finally on the mend. I had a really upset tummy last week adn thought it was from too much exercise and all my crazy hormones. Guess it was the flu. John is getting over it now, which is good. But he was a crab apple. Goodness. And so much barf. He is sleeping like crazy now, and I am waiting for him ot wake up so we can try to go for a run before the rain starts again. I did 9 miles at a 8:30 pace yesterday and am super sore. There is a long hill at the end and I was so tired. I have cut back on teh exercise, it seemed that it was working against me, with so little sleep. I finally saw the scale move, so glad I did. You girls are so good about your eating. I am not so good. I tend to go way too overboard, so I just stick to what everyone else in the house is eating. If I had yoru discipline, I coudl get into skinny jeans. Way to go ladies!
I think that i have a UTI. I have suspected it since delivery. There has been pain since they removed the catheter. And I had some pink blood this mornign. IT is too early for a period, right? I am barely 6 weeks postpartum. I see the OB this week for my check up so I will ask her. The UTI thing only bothers me if I am dehydrated. So lots of fluids till then.
It has rained like crazy. We are all going bonkers. A huge part of our morning is going for a run, to the park, hiking, etc. I cannot stand being indoors all day. And it is so hard to lug the baby and Jimmy to the store, the carts are all wet, you know?
Mel- now that there is a break in the weather, we are headed to the post office with the go wear fit. Sorry it took me so long, I hate going out in the rain. I would never survive MN. The USB cable for the GWF is mising, but any cable will do.
Allison- Send me your address so that I can get you the Amy Bento DVD. ANybody want any of the others?
I need to wake up JOhn and get him fed before he goes.
Jen- FEEL BETTER! I am so sorry that you are sick. You poor thing!:(
 
I decided on Low Max. I always feels worked out with that one..its decieving!
Melanie-yes I do like Step Moves..it was fun...not too dancy and complicated. I don't have stretch max...let me know what you think. I need to stretch more! Good job on your food so far.
I just had a small bowl of Special K.
Lunch will be green pea soup, and tuna/lettuce
snack-not sure
dinner-brown rice/pinto beans and chicken breast. I will add a green in there too.

Hi Christine-your runs amaze me! Glad everyone is on the mend at your house. UTI's suck!! I have had 2 and ended up at the ER with one....ouch!
