Moms 2B Check in week of July 25th

Hi Kristi,

I hope my answer to your previous post didn't make you feel bad about not exercising; that wasn't my intention. I was extremely sleepy when I wrote it and may not have used the best phrasing to say what I wanted to say. We may all be pregnant, but no two pregnancies are the same, and each of us has to use our individual judgement about what and how much we can do.

I hope the baby turns for you, soon! DD#1 had her bum wedged up into my right lung by this point, and I remember how uncomfortable that was.

I doubt I'll go early with this baby. I went 2 weeks early with DD#1, but I think that was because she was just so large that my uterus just couldn't take the stress of her anymore. This baby appears to be closer to "average" weight, so I will be surprised if she comes early. How about you? Do you think you'll go early? Here's hoping the next 6-7 weeks just fly by :)

Cheers,
Sandra

Sandra, your post did not make me feel bad at all. I know you would never say anything to make anyone feel that way. It is amazing how each pregnancy can be night & day.

For some reason I am thinking I might go a week or two early, but it is probably just wishful thinking on my part. I was induced on my due date with DS because the doctor was afraid he would be too big. I don't have any idea how long he would have taken up residency in there otherwise. At my last doctor appointment I did ask the doctor about inducing me because DH is still sent out of town so much and we don't have any family that lives close by to take care of DS. She is perfectly fine with doing so as long as I am dilated and it is past my 39th week. So we may be shooting for either Sept. 20th or 22nd for me to be induced unless DD decides otherwise. My inlaws are driving 2 hours to be there for this little ones arrival. I guess time will tell when our little ones will make their grand entrance into the world.

I hope the 6-7 weeks fly by too! Looking back this pregnancy has went by pretty quickly so far. When is your next dr appointment? I have one midday Thursday. Are you going every 2 weeks now?

Best wishes,

Here was my week:

Monday, walk 2.5 miles, ran some stairs too (took it easy/extremely hot)
Tuesday, nothing
Wednesday, LowMax (skipped section 7)
Thursday, gym
Friday, walk 1.5 miles to park with 4 kids and stroller; also did "crunch boot camp" (totally easy, but that was my mood)
Saturday, swim 1 mile
Sunday, left for short family reunion, walked at least a mile with some serious hills

I am 27 weeks, due 11-1 with my third child (a girl). other dd's are 4 and 2. I live in St. Louis, MO.

Okay, I got my cheat sheet now. There are 11 of us! ELEVEN!!! No wonder my head was spinning. A good mix of gals we have too, although not too many in 1st trimester.

Seems like most of us are p/g with our 3rd kids.

It also seems as if we've had our share of pain with miscarriages. I'm sorry to all you ladies who've had to deal with that. The good news is it seems all our pregnancies are going well! Praise God!

There's even a couple ladies (vanity 68 & Sunnydelight) who haven't had the excitement of working out till the end. I feel like I must be even more consistent with my workout, for YOU TWO!! How fortunate I am that I CAN workout!!!!

Maggie, you're the newest prego & Sunnydelight is next for delivery. Is that a good synapse?

Your synapse sounds good to me! That is a great cheat sheet you have! We do have a great group of ladies.

On my cheat sheet I wrote how far along you guys are, the state you live in & what p/g this is for you. When things happen I can jot down a few things that distinguish you from everyone else. I'm AWFUL with names.
Kristi, with you I just looked down & said to myself, "Oh this is the Kentucky gal". I was in KY once for a family vacation. I remember it was really hot & there were lots of snakes everywhere. I'm terrified of snakes. I was told there were water moccassins there too, so I was too scared to even go in the water. ;) So, I will write "BRAVE" buy your name to distinguish you. :) ;)

Wow! Melani--good job.

I should do the same thing, because I am awful with names too, especially when pregnant. I can't believe at almost 18 weeks I am the newest. I thought that there was another woman behind me (Jogger7474?), but she has not posted this week.

If more mommies don't join, I'm going to be lonely at the end.:p :p

Hi, guys! I'm new, but would like to jump in :)

I'm in my first trimester (week 5) with my first. I live in Philadelphia, PA.

I am in awe of you guys -- working out so hard until the very end. It's fabulous!! I only have one friend who is pregnant right now, and she's not interested in exercising. At all. So I'm excited to "meet" a group of women with similar interests and concerns :)

Tonight I am planning to do SJP. Not sure what's on tap for tomorrow.

Question: how long did it take you guys to get your first appt. with an OB? My GYN no longer does OB, so I'm trying to find one fast. I know there are not many OB's left in PA!

Melanie, you are too funny! :) Snakes scare me too! Due to our house being so new, we get brown snakes a lot since our property used to be pasture. DH won't let anyone kill them because they keep down on rodents which like to invade our shed. On the other hand, my cocker spaniel thinks they are her own personal toys. She loves playing with them, but never kills them. When I try to get one away from her she will pick it up and run away from me with it dangling in her mouth. It is really funny to see.

PennStater - Feel free to jump right in. We are glad to have you! Onto your question, my obgyn likes the first appointment to be at 8 weeks, but I think that may vary from doctor to doctor.

Today I had my doctor appointment. Everything is progressing well and the baby is measuring right where she needs to. However at my next dr appointment in 2 weeks I will need to get an ultrasound to see if she is breech. The doctor is still not convinced she has turned yet.

PennStater - Welcome! I'm near Pittsburgh (moved from State College when I got married five year ago) moving to the Harrisburg area within the next 12 months. I have had the same OB group for all my pregs, but the doctor change-over has been pretty active. My group likes the first appt at about 10 weeks for your first pg, and 12 for any after that. Take your time and pick one that meets your needs - you don't want to rush into one and have to put up with them for the duration!

I had an appt today, too - I met one of the new dr's in the practice and we discussed my induction options. I asked if the week of Thanksgiving was do-able and she was pretty optimistic about it. I'm thrilled - anything to cut out a few weeks ;-) My babies run on the small side - not unhealthy, but they just seem to stop growing at a certain point, and there's not much reason to keep carrying them if they would do better on the outside :)

I had gotten comments from people at work, hinting that I'm not big enough to be having a healthy pregnancy, but the dr. seemed fine with everything - she complimented my fundal height! Now, what more could a gal ask for?! :D One lady makes a point of telling everyone that she 'forgets that I'm pregnant' just so she has a lead in to make her other comments about me behind my back... When the comments come back to me I'm not sure what people expect me to say. Today, I told one of them that I forget sometimes, too, because I feel so good and am so busy. It's funny how your pregnancy becomes everyone's business! On the one hand, I can see how that happens: I love hearing about other people's pg's, and get warm fuzzies when I see expectant women, but on the OTHER hand, if you can't say something nice, well, you know how it goes! I'm not upset, just kind of bemused...

Anyhow - just wanted to pop in and share a smile - hope you're all havin' a good one!

oh how exciting..I AM NEXT!!! i absolutely can't wait even though i know it will be even harder work once he arrives, but i am just so excited at seeing and holding my new little one.
i made it to 36 weeks and counting ladies, wooohoooo!!!
