Good morning fitness buddies...

I'm tired of working til 4 in the p.m., so I got up at 3:45 this morning and started at 4 a.m. I'll work til 5:30, then off, then back at 6z30 to start my 8 hours, that'll give me 1 1/2 hours over.

Anyway hope all of you are doing great today.

Charlotte - you posted something a while back about making chocolate-covered peanuts with splenda. Would you let me know how you make that?

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, I was going to complain about my short night of sleep (dealing with insomnia again, grrrr) but then Jane, you got up just an hour or so after I did......ON PURPOSE!!! EEEK!!
I mean, normally I tend to be an early riser, but 2 or 3 am is stretching it , even for me!!!

Maybe I can rest sometime this afternoon, but it's a busy day for me today , so let's hope the morning workout revives me!!

I'm sticking with the rotation as well.......not sore, so ME it is. If I'm feeling like it, I will add a walk or some time on my stationary bike for added cardio, but we'll see about that! I might not have it in me today.
I believe Kali suggested eating beforehand, so I might have some oatmeal first.

Good morning Becky.. I'm sorry you couldn't sleep. I feel pretty good for getting up so early. Of course, I am in the bed by 9 at night. That is pretty much my bedtime.

Check out the end of yesterday's thread about the rotation question and see what you think.

It's official!!! I started today and I did not binge this cycle. What I did worked for me. I cannot remember the last time I did not binge during PMS time, years??? I hope this is repeatable next month.

Okay Jane, CONGRATS!!!!!! Way to Go!
Now you MUST share with us as to "what you did" to prevent bingeing!!! I am ready to start any day and have had "snacks" before bed for the past 3 nights (UGH)! Last night it was salted peanuts, pretzels and cheese!!!! Normally stuff I try to avoid but I crave the sweet (chocolate smoothies) and the salty during the PMS time, and never seem to fill up!!:-(

I didn't get to bed until 11 last night because I watch Amazing Race, so it really was a short night for me.

Okay, I checked out the Aug o4 rotation . Hmmmmmm I guess I was hoping for more of a "fat blasting-UPPER body " workout this time. However, it was SO motivating and inspiring to me to have "workout buddies" who were doing the exact same thing at the exact same time, I would still rather do lower body WITH you guys again, then upper body alone!!! Still am waiting to see what Cathe posts as well. :)

I'm going to go eat some oatmeal and try to be hitting ME by 7. Today the goal is to GET IT OVER WITH!!!!!}( :p

I am feeling pretty good this morning and didn't have to get that crane to pull me out of bed.:p Yes I was a bad girl and didn't get in LG and the bike in last night. when my brother comes over you have to entertain him the whole night. But nothing to do tonight, so I will start my rotation.


Jane- Lord girl you are getting up early. I haven't even rolled over good at that time! You're a tough girl!:p And congratulations on not binging this month! TTOM is definitely a doozy!!:p


Becky- I'm sorry you could sleep last night, maybe you can get a nap in sometime today. Take it easy and have a good workout! Oh, you are doing ME today? Never mind about the take it easy part!:p

Hey Becky.. I hear you on the fat-blasting upper body. I can't seem to find anything to fit that bill on the rotations, but I haven't looked at every one of them though. I'm with you though, I'd much rather find something that we all can do and have a reasonable amount of the w/o's to than to go it alone. We still have the October schedule to look at, who knows Cathe may hit it just right for us again.

My strategy for cutting out this bingeing is pretty simple. It worked for me but keep in mind, everybody is different and it may not work for anyone else. I started keeping a journal 31 days ago after my last two-day binge that caused a weight gain of 8 pounds and a terrible bloat that took me about a week to get back to being somewhat normal. The calories I consumed on those days were unbelievable and I felt so sick. I started keeping the journal hoping that I could pinpoint when those bingeing feelings hit, what I'd had to eat so far that day, etc.

A few things that I discovered during this past week(PMS week) is that I need to be a little higher on fat percentage on days of this week and also a little higher on carbs. This curbed the urge. Also, I discovered at one point on Sunday that I binge when I'm bored, not particularly hungry but just bored. I grabbed my pen on Sunday instead of food and wrote all of this down. By the time I got done writing down what I was feeling, the urge had passed.

I also think that doing this rotation with y'all and knowing that I would be accountable to you if I didn't helped me beyond measure. I couldn't possibly binge and then miss that day and possibly the next on the rotation and then have to tell you and Kali about it!!!:eek: That was a big deterent.

Another thing I decided to do is to keep my calories at the upper range of my deficit. 20 to 30% deficit days for me range from 1458 to 1666 calories and I kept it from the middle to the high range. I started this a little bit into the last month because I felt better when I ate towards the high end.

Anyway that is what I did. I may sound silly to some but it worked for me. Now I'll see if it is repeatable next month and the next, etc. Is this an end to my PMS bingeing? Who knows but I'm hopeful.

Well I've got to go back to work, it's 6:30.

Jane way to go getting thru the PMS. I'm due Saturday so I have a PMS headache that will last until then. It feels like someone is kicking me in the head w/ a cowboy boot on. (Not that I know what that feels like, it's what I imagine it would) AND I HATE IT!! NOTHING helps it!:-( Make sure you eat before ME too later. :)

It doesn't sound silly at all ! It sounds reasonable and smart and you deserve a pat on the back, and a HUGE high 5 for writing instead of eating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I too eat out of boredom or routine sometimes.....not when I am truly hungry.

About upper body.......I couldn't find it but I KNOW there was a rotation that was for upper body, called Tank Top rotation and I would love to see that and see if that's a possibility for you and Kali and anyone else who'd like to join in......
Anyone know where I can find it ??

Kali~This w/e is when DH is working O/T, yes. I am going to 2 street fairs on saturday afternoon that are being held up by my mom's house. I am going with my girlfriend but my mom might come too. I don't know what's up for Sunday yet. He may not work O/T both days. I actually hope he does though...we could use the $$$!

I will do LG twice and supposed to do coremax entire, but no way! I will probably do one segment. Then I will do 20 mins. on the bike. I will probably do the whole coremax next week. Maybe you can join me!

Becky, I did a quick search for Tank Top Rotation and it brought up quite a bit. Do the search,then scroll down and look under the entries in the Rotation Forum. There are many versions. Apparently Cathe didn't put this out but people were making their own versions of this and I saw where Cathe did comment on somebody's rotation and put it in order for them. I don't have time now to look thorough but thought this would help if you had some time to look. I saw this was a busy day for you too so maybe we can look this evening.

I can't beleive that I worked last night and I still got more sleep then some of you guys!:) I am headed to bed now for some more z's and then I will be up to do my workout.I think I have Imax 3 interval twice today.
I am sore from yesterdays workout.Not crazy sore but I know that I worked out.My workout partner is comming over to do Chest and Triceps with me and I am hoping to have my cardio done by the time she gets here.
Anyway...thats about it.I will check in after I wake up and am drinking my coffee:9 Can't wait.

Jane~~~A tank top rotation sounds interesting. Does it include lots of pure strength and/or slow and heavy w/o's?

HMMMMMM yum! I LOVE my big cal days cause I can eat things like bananas and peanut butter which I am eating as I type this!!!:9

Once I am done I am getting on my w/o clothes...if I don't start my w/o very soon I'll never finish before it's time for Joey to get up!:eek:

Good morning, ladies!

I see some discussion here about the tank top rotation. Here is the original rotation:

The Tank Top Rotation:

Day One: All Upper Body work from PS Series (chest, back, shoulders, biceps, and triceps)
Day Two: Leaner Legs from CTX or PS Strong Legs and Abs
Day Three: Triceps, biceps, and shoulders from CTX
Day Four: Lower Body from MIS
Day Five: Upper Body from MIS

As you can see, it is really easy to substitute different workouts in this rotation. Really, the point is to make sure you are hitting your biceps, triceps, and shoulders three days a week, and your chest, back, and legs twice a week.

You can see this is an old rotation, so you could easily sub any of the newer strength workouts here. For example, day 1 could be PUB as is, pyramiding up and down; day 3 could be premixes from the gym styles (doing them as is would be a lot in one day!). Day 5 could be upper from ME or MM.

I have to add, I've never done this rotation or anything like it. Personally, I'm more of a butts-and-guts kinda girl, myself. :)

I AM DONE with ME! AND HAPPY ABOUT IT TOO!!!
Am anxious to hear how it goes for you , because I could tell my upper body workouts have been few and far between. I had to take a break during biceps (just a quick stretch) and then finished with the 8 singles, did not do the holds and then 4 singles at the end. and I used to do them all !! ;( The same with triceps.....didn't quite finish all the dips and extensions.
Lower body was strong, but I can feel some soreness in the calf muscles and outter thighs. And seriously, has anybody ever counted how many leg presses we do in ME?????? OMG:eek:

I always feel I don't have quite as much muscle strength around TTOM and I didn't sleep well last night, so all things considered, I guess I did okay. and have I mentioned, I'M GLAD I'M DONE!!??!?!?!;-) :7
 
Just finished my w/o and my second breakfast! LOL

Push Pull + 10-10-10 (20 mins/no warm up) + power circuit ab work + a bowl of go lean crunch w/skim milk! :p

Time to shower up and get the little guy up! :+
