MMA Fusion??

Has anyone tried this? how does it compare to MMA boxing and MMA kickboxing? I don't have the money to buy all 3 but if Fusion is a good combination of boxing and kickboxing, then it looks like my best bet. Help anyone?

MMA Boxing is my favorite. You also get the bonus bag workout on this one which can be done w/o a bag. I'll be doing Fusion tomorrow for only the second time (I'm following Cathe's January rotation). I think the core workout in this one is different than anything I've seen in her workouts. It's a little tricky for those of us not real coordinated .

I personally like Fusion the least of all the MMA workouts. The combos sometimes seem like they are at a beginner/remedial pace. From combo 1 on, I kept waiting for some of the 'holds' to disappear so we'd take the intensity up...but they never did. :( I had to add more kicks and punches in where there are some 'holds' in order to make it feel advanced enough in the combos.

I like the contents of the combos (the punches, kicks and their sequencing), just not the pace.

My first choice would be MMA boxing, then kickboxing, then fusion. I agree, the pace of fusion is a little slow and not as intense as I thought it would be.

Fusion is the only one of the three that I've done and I thought it was alot of fun. It's a little different which made it interesting. I couldn't even do most of the second combo (the one down on the floor), so that's something to work towards. The cardio definitely isn't as tough as CCC or the HIIT workouts, but still a good workout IMO.

I like Boxing, Kickboxing and Fusion. Although Fusion isn't really like anything else, so that makes it more interesting. The combos that go to the floor are very unusual and challenging in that way and it's just something totally different. I'm glad I have it. It depends if you want some variety or if you're looking for something specific.

I think the boxing is my favorite and the fusion will grow on me. I think the fusion has a bit of a learning curve and will get more difficult as I do it and learn to work it. I dislike kickboxing. I did kickbox as my comeback workout after a month off due to illness and travel and it felt very slow, boring, and it was just not typical Cathe intensity. It felt way too easy for me to use as a stand alone workout unless I'm coming back from illness or just having a low energy day and want to do something very light.

To me fusion is quite unique and it is not overly intense as a whole but it has some intense sections that work your muscles quite uniquely. Some of the moves where I am getting up and off the floor will some time to master and this is why I think for me it will get more intense the more I do it.

I have not done the other 2 yet but I did fusion this morning and was very bored through combo 1. liked combo 2 and 3 but still found they had too many holds and took to long to get through the combo. A premix of the finished combos and drills w the core work would have been good for this workout. there were a couple of moves that got my heart rate a little up but with all the holds and breaks it never lastest long. i was just gald it was a active off day for me bc if i was trying to get a hard core workout in i would have been really bummed. I am bummed because i have all cathe's workouts and usually love her but this workout was just not for me. i would be surprised if i did it again but i will prob just keep it just in case bc it is cathe.

I disagree w/ some of the above posters. I absolutely love Fusion. It isn't the most difficult when it comes to heart rate elevation (although that could be subjective, of course) but it is very innovative if you ask me - rolling around like a fighter, etc. I found it to be very exciting and my DH really loves it as well. I felt so "tough" when I did it. I am a trainer myself and am always looking for new ideas.
Boxing was totally fun too but you get out of it what you put into it. I sold KB the day I tried it out. I love my KPC and I can't find anything to compare to it, KB-wise. Thus, I didn't care for MMAKB.

Wow, everybody's different here. I found MMA Kickbox to be a yawn, never even got my heart rate up. Fusion starts off slow but then gets very intense, with all that up and down off the floor, squat thrust kicks, roll backs, thrusting to the side, etc. Very unique and very fun-totally different from any other Cathe. I love Boxing and you can easily modify it up or down which is nice.
