MIC - help!

I love all of my Cathe vids and have not had a problem learning workouts like Cardio Kicks. I also love MIC and have no problem with the floor cardio portion but when it comes to the step part I am all over myself literally!!!

Cathe's cueing is impeccable but I just get so tripped up! I am also embarrased to say I used to TEACH step some years ago so I am further exasperated just knowing this!

Is MIC a harder step workout to learn and if so are there other Cathe step tapes that are more to my learning ability (which apparently is very limited at this point) and..

Do you have any tips on how to learn the routines in MIC?

Help - I am determined to do this!!!!

Hi there...

I noticed that when I'm tired/fatigued, I trip up more on the step than when I'm all energized & focused. I don't focus as much on her cueing and what she is saying because I'm trying to get my legs to keep moving!! :7

After that hi-lo section I am pooped and am completely whipped by the end of this entire workout.

To try and learn this step portion better, try just doing the step portion alone without doing the hi-lo portion (but include the warm up). (Not sure if you've tried that already). I really don't think the step portion is any harder than her other workouts. Accept for maybe her older workouts like Step Heat, Mega Step Blast or Step Jam. Those I hear are the ones to start out with if you're new to Cathe.

I had never done step before trying a Cathe workout and I just jumped right in. It took a little practice but then after that it was no problem. My first workout of hers was Body Max and that's one of her fastest step tapes.

(Rythmic Step was the trickiest for me to learn).

Hope that helps.

Why don't you try the MIC step portion alone before doing the hi/lo part. That way your muscles won't be as tired. Start with her warm up and forward to the step. You may find it easier to catch on if you're not too tired. I find MIC step part soemtimes difficult if my legs are sore( the day after a tough leg workout). My feet don't want to move where I want them too! It's actually a pretty easy routine (and much shorter!;-) ) so give it some time!! Also like Dani said her other tapes such as Step Heat and Step Jam are easier and fun to do also! Susan

Thanks SuzanneZ and Danielle for your ideas. I will try the step part first to see if that helps. I also will try some of the other earlier step tapes. They all look like such a blast!

Thanks again

Deb
