MELTING through the weekend

Morning all. Just a quick post before I head to work.

Deb, I love the patriotic pooch picture.

Kristi, your trip sounds like so much fun! All I've ever seen of Chicago is the airport. DD went on a school trip a few years ago and loved it.

BG, thanks for the offer for info/advice on Greyor. I may PM you...

I always have to news on in the background while posting in the morning. The local station ran a story Charles Gibson did for the news on the 4th about a WWII vet who was the Grand Marshall for a parade in Millville, PA. That's not too far from me! Talk about wanting to cry. All I could think of was my dad, who spent time in a POW camp after being shot down, right before D day.

We had a nice time with Jay's family and some of his rowdy friends last night. Greyor seemed to enjoy the fireworks. Now it's back to work for me. See the rest of you all later.

Good Morning Robin & all that follow!

Very quiet here right now.. the little "K" is sleeping after a hard morning of chewing rawhides and chasing Kelsey...I may try to get a workout in or opt to do CleanMax..lots of stuff to do around here..

Kristi:
You were posting pretty late last night.. your trip sounds like it was so much fun.. boy were you busy!

What's everyone up to today?

p.s I put the "Meltie Mascot" in my signature line, then remembered it would show on all the other forums, and I did not know if that would offend anyone... so I deleted it..has anyone heard anything about it?

Deb

Morning all!

Deb - love the pooch pic! It was a surprise to see you post last night! And LOL about the 4th. Of course it was the 4th, but it wasn't 'THE 4TH':p

Kristi - your trip sounds fabulous! Can't wait to see pics!

Robin - booooourns on working today! I hope it goes by quickly.

Lainie- sorry about the party turnout. I hate when that happens! For some reason, I'm now craving a burger and chips:p

The friend who was supposed to come over for a visit today phoned this morning to cancel because she's sick. Now I'm kind of at loose ends and not sure what to do today. I'm sure I'll figure something out. It's more about keeping Sophie entertained. I slept in this morning and so I'll do my run later.

Good morning, all!
Just popping in for a quick "hello." DH & I are going to do L&G plus abs from C&W & HSC, then we are going to clean out some closets. This afternoon our family is doing a Mobile Loaves & Fishes run to feed the homeless.

Shelley: I started working on my photos last night, but DH took nearly 300 -- YIKES!!! Plus both DDs took lots.

Deb: We tend to cram-pack our vacations, then we need to come home to rest. :)

Robin: I hope your day at work is as pleasant as possible.

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!
BBL!

Lainie – Did you get some rest? Sometimes preparing can take so much out of me, when it’s all over I’m like a zombie for awhile. It’s so personal for me to have people over. Hope you got some time to decompress. I absolutely get that. Kristi is right – it’s easy to be outgoing online. I’m okay in a smaller group, but I’m not a fan of large crowds. I clam right up! Not exactly the best “mingler” there is. Spill the details on the new purchases!!! Can’t wait to hear!! :D :D :D

Kristi – I LOVE street fairs like that. And local art – you are just speaking my language! I’d love to see the painting you scored! Sounds like your trip was wonderful, and I’m so happy for that! I live in the big D, baby. I absolutely love Austin, though – such gorgeous country and cool energy. That is beyond fabulous that you’re helping the homeless – that absolutely touches me.

Deb – I like the shorter ones too. I have the iTread + Tush, which I really love though! Not really long, but fun! I typically like step or kickboxing for my longer cardio workouts. Actually the track I loathe is on Drills, #27 – that’s the one with Nick, right? It’s the track that’s featured on the iCycle samples 17 and 21… but it’s the one with the man talking through the whole thing. I just find it so distracting and irritating. So I’ve only done that #27 one time, because I’m huffy like that. Hmph! But that’s money wasted, you know? I don’t have the one with the “follywood girl” but I do have the one with the glow sticks… so random. And YES, I hate her timing. If I’m giving you my all, and you tell me I only have 30 seconds, and then you make me do that for a minute more – it just makes me cranky! ;) Love the pics of your dog-gone picnic! So funny!! :D

Robin – I’d be happy to help however and whenever I can. Like I said, I’m no expert, but if there’s a question I can’t answer I can probably help you find it in any event! You’re working today? What do you do?

Shelley – I’m sure you’ll figure out something wonderful to do! I’m at my MILs today with lots of family. She’ll keep us busy since she just moved into this house… not sure that’s wonderful, but it’s SOMETHING! ;)

Hi to all you other fabulous melty babes! Can’t wait to hear more from y’all!!!

Hugs and :* :* :*

PS - edited to say, yes Leanne - those are our feet! My feet are on the left. :7 :7 :7 :7

Good morning, everyone!

We had so much fun yesterday! My dad and his wife and Mike's parents left before the fireworks, but then the rest of us (DH and me, BIL, my older brother and SIL, and my younger brother) all took my little niece Clementine to the park in our community, where we played on the kids' swings and slides until the LegoLand fireworks started at 8:30. Clementine (who is 2 1/2) loved them, and kept saying, "Those are really cool." I think next weekend we get to babysit her, too! Hooray!

I also slept in until 6:30 today, which was the latest I think I've slept in all summer! I was going to wait until later this morning to start laundry, but figured that I'm not going to modify my routine just b/c the laundry room is above BIL's bedroom. Today is Clean Max, and then I think I'm scheduled to do L&G and I might throw in a bit of cardio. Tonight we have our last Shakespeare play, _The Merry Wives of Windsor_. DH already told his brother that he'd be on his own so the two of us can enjoy a nice dinner and evening out -- ALONE!

Kristi -- It is SOOO nice to have you back with our group, but it sounds like you had so much fun in Chicago! I can't wait to see photos once you get some of them posted on your Picturetrail. That is great that Todd took so many! I'm also seriously impressed that you got all caught up with this past week. Those shows you went to sound fantastic! I've been wanting to see _Wicked_, but we never got around to it when it was in L.A. I ended up ordering the Nike camo cargos and another pair similar to the Funky Vibe (which I couldn't order b/c they were out of my size). How cool that you got the last pair of them! And thank you for that beautiful card! You didn't tell us that you were talented in an artistic way, too!;-) It's just lovely! Glad your day today is already off to a great start!

Deb -- Oh, that photos of the Kelsey and Keegan is just ADORABLE!! Sounds like you had so much fun at your dad's, and I'm sure he really appreciated all the love and company. I was actually thinking I would delete the Melty Mascot lady from my signature, too. I'm worried we may get into trouble!

Robin -- What a touching story to see on the news this morning, and what a nice way to think of your dad. It sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday, and I'm so glad that Greyor enjoyed the fireworks. Is Jay heading back out soon? Is Emily doing OK?

Lainie -- Glad you had fun at the BBQ, even though you had a small turnout. Oooh, you'll have to tell us what you've been buying lately! Is it stuff for the RT or just other stuff? Do tell! ;-)

Shelley -- Can you think of anything that would be fun for you and Sophie? Would a movie be fun? Of course, I always love a nice day of doing nothing, but I know you and Sophie are really active! ;-)

BG -- Ah, I figured that was your feet!;-) I'm another one who's really shy in person, which is part of why I love our forums -- that, and the fact that all of you ladies are AMAZING!!

Shannon -- I know you may not get a chance to check in, but I'm thinking of you!

Tneah -- How were things down on the water last night? Did Georgie do OK with the fireworks? I hope he wasn't scared! As soon as your plans settle down, let me know when you can meet! I'm so excited!!

Allie -- How are you feeling today, sweetie? Did you end up going out with your new beau? Hope you started feeling better!

Peggie -- Did you get a chance to get caught up on your rest? Hope so!

I'll be home all day today, so I'll BBL! :)

Morning All:)

Deb, the poor dear (Keegan), he must be so worn out from all his activities.}( That is so funny, I remember calling up the breeder so worried because I thought Georgie was sick when he was a puppy because he slept so much!:p She laughed and told me its what puppies do between bouts of acting like little terrors.:7 Oh, I included the melty mascot, with the intention of taking it off if anyone mentioned they thought it was "too much" or whatever. No one has said a word, and you know what? You cannot really tell what it is, unless you really stop and watch the twirly "things!"

Robin, sounds like you had a blast yesterday. Glad Greyor wasn't scared of the fireworks, my own "baby" George was, he went berserk, as did several children here on the docks...ahhhh, poor things. It was really loud though and I am sure when you are little its pretty scary--or when you are a dog.;) Wow, I didn't know that about your father, I know that really hit home for you, he was a great man wasn't he?

BG, I am loving your avatar!:) What a cute idea. Do you have kids? Pets?

Shelley, what are you and Sophie doing today? I bet you tire her out with your whirlwind of activities on the weekend!:p Is she still at that age when hanging with mom is still cool, or are we moving into the terrible pre-teens when everything mom does is like "totally boring?":7 I was such a bad child from the ages 12-14...wow, those hormones kick in and boy, I am surprised they didn't put me up for adoption during that time.

Hi to all our other fabulous ladies this morning, I need to go back and read last nights posts...

We watched the fireworks from the boat last night, we stayed docked, and had front row seats they were so huge and beautiful. We stayed up pretty late last night so am getting a slow start this morning...}( it's about time for crying out loud...uh, sorry, TMI...love you guys be back later!:)

Leanne, we were posting at the same time! Sounds like you guys had fun too, weren't the fireworks wonderful? Did you guys BBQ? Lets shoot for the middle of next week? Wednesday or Thursday? Or actually whenever you have the extra time...my schedule is pretty much open, the guys come down on Sunday night and stay until Thursday, so you pick the day and place and I will show up 15 minutes early.:7

And if you guys want, I will take my melty mascot off too, its cool. :+

Hi all - Happy day after the 4th.

We went to the fireworks display and it was unbelievable. Very Nice. I bet there were 100 boats on the water. Glad I didn't have to drive the boat at night. That would suck. Very hard to see anything.

Deb - your dogs are soooo cute.

BG - I agree about the itreads. Her times are really bad. She's kind of starting to irritate me. Maybe because I am so in love with Coach Sean.

Leanne - glad you guys had a nice 4th. How are things going with BIL.

Lanie - Great attitude about the party. Can't wait to meet you in August.

Robin - That is very touching about your dad. I get so emotional over stories like that.

Shelly - Have a good day with Sophie today.

Allison - That really sucks about those night sweats.http://planetsmilies.net/aim-smiley-6371.gif I just heard something about magnesium helping that.

Tneah - Fireworks are great on a boat. Sounds like you had fun. You are so pretty. Your pictures were great.

Kristi - Sounds like you had a great trip. Thanks for the warm welcome.

All the ladies here are so great. It make me feel so good to be able to share with all of you.http://planetsmilies.net/cool-smiley-8942.gif
Sorry if I forgot anyone. I will bbl to chat.

Hi all. I'm at work and having a pretty good day. The poor techs who worked yesterday were busy though.

Deb,LOL at Keegan taking a rest after doing all of his "chores." Does Kelsey give a sigh of relief when Keegan finally stops moving?

Shelley, so what did you and Sophie decide to do today? I think Turk is mowing the lawn. Tris will probably sleep most of the day away. Part of his syndrome is that the CO2 levels in his blood are elevated, causing sleepiness. Once he stops moving, he falls asleep. He fell sound asleep twice at the picnic last night - sitting up in a lawn chair.

Kristi, I know what you mean about needing a rest after a vacation. We try to get as much out of a trip as we can too. I try to schedule a day off once we get home, to recuperate, but it isn't always possible. Plus, I'd rather have another day on vacation! We are planning on going to the Central PA Festival of the Arts (http://www.arts-festival.com/)on Friday. I always enjoy going, but since it is more artsy than crafty, I can't afford to buy much.

Lainie, so sorry to hear about your guest list. I think it is horrible rude to say you will be somewhere and not show up. I would never dream of doing that without a good excuse and then I'd call the hostess to let her know. I'm glad you had fun anyway.

BG, I'm a microbiologist in a hospital lab. I have to work every third weekend, but love having weekdays off. We also have to work about 2 or 3 holidays a year, but I'm used to it. I love the work, but also love the thought of maybe retiring in another about 10 years.

Leanne, glad to hear you had a fun 4th. It sounds like you are a little more relaxed today. Enjoy your night out. I've never seen or read the "Merry Wives." Is it like Desperate Housewives? Nyuck, nyuck.

Tneah, fireworks from the boat sounds so romantic. We used to go to downtown Norfolk with family to see fireworks, when we would visit family over the 4th. I always evied the folks on the bay.

Peggie, were you watching fireworks from a boat too? I missed that. Lucky you. We watched from a backyard, but they were pretty good.

My work partner is ready for lunch. I'll probably be back later. Ta for now...

Back real quick to tell Kristi, cannot wait to see your pictures!

Peggy, sounds like you had a very good time yesterday as well, aren't boats fun?

Lainie, dang it, I hate it when people do not show up after you busted your arse getting stuff ready. Oh well, you have foodstuff for the whole week well at least for your little ones and your DH.I would have come to your party!:p

Robin, I love arts and crafts fairs, its fun to see stuff even if you do not buy...

Deb, that pic was too cute for words, your "little men". Adorable!:D

Off to do an itread, not sure which one, I haven't happened upon the infamous "glowstick" one yet thank goodness...that Grace is a mess isn't she? I do love having the speeds given to me though, it makes a difference for me especially since I am a reluctant walker...:p Its already muggy and hot here, well, not hot like Vegas, but hot enough. I think I might smear some SPF on and lay out on the deck for a bit today, I know, I know, but I like a little "real" color....God made the sun how bad can it really be right?:7

Hey all!

Robin -- Glad that work isn't too crazy today! Did you find any shorts for Tristan yesterday? That arts festival next weekend sounds like fun. Perhaps Shakespeare should be credited with inventing the original soap opera! ;-)

Peggie -- Sounds like you had a fun holiday yesterday! Were you out on a lake?

Tneah -- Hey, woman! I think our posts crossed earlier this morning! Glad you had some quality time with Mitch last night}( , but poor Georgie with those fireworks! Isn't this humidity awful?! Of course, it's nothing like the humidity when we lived in Indiana, but it's been like this off and on since May. It always feels so much hotter when it's muggy out! It's still really overcast up here in Carlsbad, but the morning fog is lifting a bit. When we cleaned up the back patio yesterday, we were thinking of starting our yearly lay-out-for-about-10- minutes ritual. DH and I are both pasty white.:+

Better go get laundry out of the dryer and then start my workout. DH and BIL had better wake up by the time I'm done working out b/c then I need to start mopping and vacuuming, and if they're not up, I'm waking them up! Did I mention that BIL has been staying up until 3:00 in the morning and not getting up until 1:00 in the afternoon?? I now have no qualms about making plenty of noise in the kitchen when I'm up in the morning. }( My patience is wearing thin.

Oh, and yesterday I was so ticked off b/c MIL and BIL ended up spending about an hour-and-a-half on-line and on the phone setting up storage so they could get their furniture out of those pod thingies they got to move. It was so rude! They had moved my chair from the kitchen table to the computer, and, at one point, I moved my chair back over so I could sit next to DH and eat dessert. His mom looked at me and said, "Oh, we're still using that." So, like the nice person I am, I moved the chair back, instead of telling them to get one of the other available chairs. Grrr. OK, sorry to vent!:-(

Leanne – hooray for babysitting! Love those times. Sounds like your 4th celebration was wonderful! I’m so glad. And woo-woo on the evening alone! Shakespeare and dinner sounds like perfection. OMG I love those Nike camos. I’ve been eyeballing quite a few cargo capris… one cannot have to many, can one??? PS – I’m pasty white too. :D Your patience is far superior to mine… I wouldn’t last so long being so “easy” with BIL. I’d decide to take up the drums, and be sure I needed to practice OFTEN. Not sure how people can be so rude. Sometimes it blows my mind. x(

Tneah – nope, no kids, no pets. DH and I probably will do something “permanent” soon to prevent kids… We love children, but mostly just love being the aunt and the uncle. We like life the way it is – the 2 of us. :) We have had pets in the past, but honestly we’re not home enough to be fair to them. We travel a lot and just aren’t home to be good “parents” to any animals. Maybe I need a fish??? LOL What about you? I know about Georgie, and DH has a daughter, correct? Any offspring of your own? Thanks on the avatar – that was our holiday in Hawaii. We love that picture! Hubba hubba (did I really just type that – Lord have mercy) on the late night… }( }(

Hi Peggie! Sounds like you had a picture perfect 4th! We watched the nieces and nephew pop some small firecrackers in the driveway (hoping we wouldn’t get in trouble). They were pretty funny! Didn’t know about magnesium and night sweats. I might give it a go, cuz I wake up pretty “dewy” myself! How much, do you know?

Robin – microbiology? That is pretty freakin awesome. That art festival sounds like so much fun. We’ve got a lot of street fairs and such here, but dangit, it’s so hot I can’t exactly enjoy it long without becoming a little cranky. Fall is much better here – but fall for us doesn’t exactly start until oh… November…
I hear you on the weekdays off. I don’t have to work weekends, but I only work 3-4 days per week (depends on our van schedule – how many we send out, how many studies we have, etc). So I love having the day or 2 off during the week to get stuff done! Makes the weekends not seem so “critical”.

Hi everyone to follow!
:D

Hello again!

Chatty bunchy today!

Still haven't really decided what to do. We ran a couple of errands this morning and now Sophie is playing on the Wii and I'm doing laundry. We were outside for a bit - I set Sophie's easel up and she did a painting and I sanded one of my Adirondack chairs in preparation for painting. I should go wash it off with TSP, rinse it and put a coat of paint on!

Leanne - I'm glad you had such a nice time yesterday. And what's with BIL's hours? Yikes! You have way more patience than me, that's for sure.

Tneah - yay for *ahem* quality time with Mitch!

Peggie - thanks for the info on the magnesium. I'm *just* starting to occasionally get night sweats. And btw, you don't look old enough to have a 20 year old ;)

Robin - you know, I think maybe I have Tris's syndrome:p I eat everything in sight and I fall asleep standing up too! Just kidding.

Kristi - I'd love to see a pic of your painting. I love street fairs and art fairs and antique shows and all that stuff!

Well, wish me luck. I'm going to use the BBQ for the first time ever tonight. I had Chris show me how before he left for work, and I think I'm okay. I just have visions of the thing not lighting properly and me blowing it up or burning off my eyebrows or something:p

Tneah, you are not tanning - you are getting your dose of Vit D. Very important for healthy bones!

Leanne, how in the heck can your BIL have enough of a network to stay until 3AM already? If he can find people to hang with that quickly, he can certainly find a job!

BG, sometimes I wish I would have decided not to have kids. Seriously, I'm not one of those nurturing, mothering types. I love my kids, but oy! what a worry/responsibility/worry/expense/worry/trial/worry. Did I mention that kids are a worry? We don't have a dog for exactly the same reason as you. Although we are around home a lot more not than when we were younger. Sometimes I think a dog would be nice, but then I look at the mess two cats and a baby make and I quickly change my mind.

Hi everyone. I'm still not capable of a long message or personals yet. I'm so tired. http://planetsmilies.net/tired-sleeping-smiley-4635.gif I may have to take a nap when Ewan naps today. After cleaning house so much, it's kind of tough to do it more, but of course now we have to clean up post-party. Even with a small turnout it was messy (esp. with kids around). I also have a lot of laundry--not sure why that is. Brian is tired, too. He's asleep in front of a classic 70's game on the Yankees channel.

Robin, so your dad was in WWII? Cool. We saw so many WWII and WWI sites when we were in Europe. We spent one vacation in Normandy and saw the D-Day beaches, then when driving back to Holland we saw a lot of old WWI battlefields as well. My grandfather was a soldier during WWI, but was in England the whole time, didn't really see action. Anyway, I'm glad we at least had a couple people show up to the party. The first arrivals were almost an hour late anyway! I was afraid it was going to be a total bust. Brian is the type to get anywhere early, so it was probably esp. annoying to him to have people late, though he expected it since they are late to other parties.

Deb, I really loved the patriotic doggy pic, too! I've got the Melty Mascot in my signature, but I haven't posted elsewhere much lately. I know someone on Tracey Staehle's forum complained because she described a move in Circuit Zone as being like sitting on a public toilet. They were offended and called it "potty humor" so I know some people are easily offended. I guess maybe I'll take mine off the regular signature, but keep posting it here. :) I have a short list of favorite smiley urls that I keep on my computer so I don't always have to go searching through the websites--makes it easier to grab the booby lady. I just put a short description like "booby lady:" and then the url.

Shelley, good luck working the BBQ! I never attempt it but just use the electric George Foreman grill (though the taste is not nearly the same, of course). I don't think I should be trusted with fire, though.

Kristi, yep, I love chatting and being friendly with people, but it wears me out, too. Not only did I clean, clean, clean and party plan all week, but just the socializing wore me out. Your Chicago trip sounded so fun. I've never been there, though before we moved here, Chicago was another option for us. I'd never been to either Chicago or New York so it was tough to decide!

BreckGirl, yeah, I'm kind of better in a small group than a crowd. We did have fireworks last night--at the Hudson River about three blocks away. Brian and Isaac went down there but I stayed home and put Ewan to bed (because he hadn't even had a nap). Then I watched some of the fireworks out the window--I could see them over the roofs.

Leanne, I think I'll put the shopping details on a second post, in case I want to find pics to include. Have fun on your Shakespeare night out! Gosh, I was thinking having your BIL living with you is worse than having 2 kids. At least my kids go to bed early (plus I can tell them what to do and I'm bigger than they are :p). Of course, on the other hand, the kids will be with me for several more years. But they are really really cute.

Tneah, I think the tanning is all about moderation (says the girl with no color, but that's 'cause I just can't get any). Obviously the UV rays are not all bad if my dermatologist is making me have UV treatment and telling me to spend some time in the sun to help with my psoriasis.

Peggie, sounds like you saw some great fireworks. It makes me a bit emotional on the 4th of July to see fireworks. I had to sing a couple patriotic songs and cry a little, so it's a good thing I was watching at home. Yeah, I'm weird. I look forward to meeting you in August as well! I think it will be very comfortable to meet everyone since I "know" so many people already.

Greetings to all who follow!

OK, as for the shopping.

1. Got a Cathe fleece from Cathe.com. I'm not even sure why considering it's at least 80 degrees all the time now. I figured I could take it on the RT in case it gets chilly indoors somewhere.

2. Got a couple more pairs of Nike pants and shirts. I did this after looking for my best-looking workout clothes before going downstairs when the paving guys were all around the house (and we have a lot of uncovered windows). I don't know why it mattered if I looked funny in front of the paving guys, but it did. I'm a goober that way.

3. I ordered a pair of shoes I already own. I just like them so much but they're already getting rather dirty, so I decided I wanted another pair. It's these: http://www.dsw.com/dsw_shoes/catalog/product.jsp?index=6&category=&prodId=171524&brand=300337 and I ordered another pair while I was at it: http://www.dsw.com/dsw_shoes/catalo...Ref=CLEARANCE&category=cat10006&prodId=167944 in the stone color.

4. I ordered a couple tops from ATL.

Loving the new tops/shoes Lainie bug and your new avatar! Pretty girl.:)

Sheesh Leanne, you are gonna go postal on that guy anyday now, I would. He is plain ole rude, I do not like him.x( Oh, and I am right there with ya on the pasty white thing, although I use a spray-on tanning mist, nothing looks better than the real deal huh?

Shelley, you refurbish your own furniture? Dear god, you are an all-around superwoman for heaven's sake!:7

Robin, yep, that is how I am thinking about the tanning, getting my vitamin D.:7

Well I did itread-60 minutes I think it was number 3 this morning, then went to lay down and stretch on the floor afterwards and fell back and conked my head on a piece of gym equipment. I am such a dork, now I have a goose egg on the side of my noggin.

:p Off to fetch more water...the stuff out of the tap on the boat is kinda gross...everyone have a great day, oh, and I ate waaaayyy to many pretzel chips last night (Trader Joes has 'em) plain, and no fat or anything, but yeah, salty, so you know how that goes...hello bloat.:)

The boys are down tomorrow night so need to make sure I have snacks for them and stuff...

Hi, gang!

Robin – How’s the work day going? That is so interesting and moving that your father was a POW in WWII! That art festival looks great! We have some here in town throughout the year, but they just don’t seem the same as one somewhere else, plus, as my DH noted in Chicago, we are more willing to spend the money on vacation than if we just went out for the afternoon at home. Your description of parenthood was spot on. I love my own DDs, but I’m not a big fan of other people’s kids – I think I’m short on that mothering, nurturing gene. ;)

Tneah – I agree with you that it’s actually hard to tell exactly what the Melty Mascot is doing unless you really study her. So sorry that Georgie was scared of the fireworks. My sweet dog Mandy (who died 2 and ½ years ago on my 40th birthday – she was 12 years old) was pathologically afraid of them; she would hurt herself trying to get out of the yard if we didn’t remember to bring her inside before they started. When we heard fireworks outside last night, one of my DDs commented that she still misses that sweet dog. On the sun issue, I say go for it AS LONG AS you have on sunscreen!! :)

Leanne – Glad you had a fun 4th. I bet Clementine is darling – that’s such a cute age! Enjoy the play tonight – yea for alone time w/o BIL!! Did you do L&G? I thought about you as I did it. :) I can’t believe BIL stays up that late – is he at least quiet??? Good grief!

Shelley – It sounds like you & Sophie are just having a nice, relaxing day. Oh, my – be careful with the BBQ!!! Be sure to pull your hair back. :) I'm with Lainie -- I only use the Foreman grill.

Lainie – Love the new avatar!!! I hope you feel recharged soon. We went to NYC last year on vacay, and my DDs made the same observation that I have – Chicago is very similar to NYC, but with a slower, more relaxed vibe. I’d move there in a minute if I wasn’t such a huge chicken about winter. Having lived in Texas my entire life, I’m not sure I could make the adjustment! :) Those flowered shoes are darling and I love that they are called Self Esteem! Cute tops, too!

Allison – Where are you? Having fun with your new BF, I hope!!!

Peggie – I’m jealous of all the awesome fireworks you all saw. We heard them in the neighborhood, but those are rarely impressive.

BG – Are you from Texas (i.e., born, raised, etc.)? I am 5th generation. I spent time in Dallas when I was in college in Ft. Worth.

Deb & Shannon – Hope you are both having a nice, relaxing weekend!

Hi all – sitting in a carb coma of too much potato salad… Why did I do that? Ugh. I guess that’s what happens at family’s house with too much food. That’s really all I had (except 1/3 of a stuffed zucchini) because my teeth HURT dangit.

Whatcha doin, Shelley? You’ll do fine with the grill. And if something mishaps, it will be a wonderful story. Isn’t that what life is made of? One story after another? So you’re just providing more material. :D

Leanne – getting ready for hot date tonight? I’m loving being with the fam of course, but I LOVE me some alone time with DH out on the town. Good stuff.

I bet you’re right folks, Allie’s with da man. Can’t wait to hear what’s up! My DH is putting in ceiling fans for MIL. THANK GOODNESS. It was SO HOT in our room last night – and with night sweats – well… let’s just say I wasn’t Little Mary Sunshine this morning when I got up. x(

Robin – I think I’d be one of those overly worrisome parents. I freak when my nieces and nephews do stuff that looks dangerous. I’m always somewhere sucking air, or sounding like my mother: “someone’s gonna get hurt!” Ugh. That’s no fun. DH and I just ran up to a local store and bought a whole bunch of fake money and some cards, some glow-in-the-dark stick thingies that you can shape into hats, bracelets, etc. We’re going to have a rousing game of (as my niece calls it) “card on the head” game. You have to wear a hat (or something like it) and you stick the card face out under the brim of the hat so it’s on your forehead (so everyone else can see it but you) and then you bid whether or not you think your card is the highest out of everyone else’s that you can see. It’s actually a riot. The kids love it.

Tneah – ouch on the head! Which iTreads do you love most? I’m in the market for more, but I’m cautious cuz there’s this obnoxious track on one that I have and now I won’t do that one anymore. How long are your workouts typically? I’m kinda itchin to get back home and get back in the groove. Especially after that potato salad. ;) What boys are coming? Are these your boys?

Lainie – I love your posts. Those tops are great! I have to be careful with halters, though I do love them. I agree – some people are really easily offended. Sometimes that is confusing to me – almost as if they’re searching for something to set them off. I am intolerant of intolerance!

Kristi – nope, not born and raised Texan. Lived kind of a lot of places as a young child, but spent jr high and high school years in College Station. DH and I have been in DFW since oh… ‘93? Did you go to TCU? DH and I were married at Robert Carr Chapel! So pretty. We picked D/FW to get married because we have family spread all out over this fine country, and it was a central hub. How long have you been in Austin? How did the afternoon go today???

BBL melties! Gotta go paint a mirror for MIL.

Hey all,

Just got done mopping, vacuuming, and then showering. Whew, I'm tired! I ended up doing CTX 10/10/10 before doing L&G, and that really is an intense little workout. Now I can sit for a few hours and read before we head to the play. We're going to get dinner at this cute little pasta place at the beach near where we lived ages ago. I'll be joining BreckGirl in that carb coma soon! ;-)

So when I came downstairs after my workout, DH had been up for maybe twenty minutes by that point, but when I asked him how long he'd been awake for, he said, "Oh, an hour-and-a-half." He was obviously joking since he doesn't get up before noon. So then his brother says, "Well, I HAVE." In other words, my workout woke him up, and he was being a jerk about it. Well, excuse me, but if I want to start my workout at 10:10 in the morning, then I have every right to. Now I'm irked b/c the two of them have been sitting like bumps on a log on the couch playing on-line poker on their laptops while I've been cleaning house. GRRR!

OK, so, so, so sorry to vent again! I feel like I've been a big ol' annoying broken record about BIL. Thanks for putting up with me ladies. {{{HUGS}}}} to you all! I'm just really hoping that he gets put on a job when he goes to the temp agency on Monday morning.

Kristi -- How funny -- I was thinking of you this morning while doing L&G, too, since I knew you and Todd were doing it also! Isn't that a fun workout? It's one of those where Cathe seems almost silly, which I love. I haven't done that one since last summer, and I'm not sure why. I'll have to pull it out more often! Are you getting all caught up on things after being gone? Your dinner last night sounded so yummy and healthy! It's so nice to have you back. I missed you!

Robin -- No, BIL hasn't met any people here; he and DH stay up late playing video games, on-line poker, etc. So Robin, Tristan and Emily are SOOO lucky to have you as their mom. You're such an amazing woman, and not all mothers obviously have to be the "mothering" type at all. I hope you know how fantastic you are to them and to all of us!!

Lainie -- LOVE the new avatar! You are so very pretty, Lainie Bug, and you have the best smile! And I love the new shoes and clothes, too! I was thinking of picking up a few new tops for the RT, and figured that I'd hit Loft later this month. Yes, I saw that post on Tracey's website about the potty humor. That was so dumb of that person! Yea, your kids are darn ADORABLE! :)

Shelley -- I knew you and Sophie would find some stuff to keep you busy today. ;-) Any gardening planned for tomorrow? Yikes about that BBQ! You'll be fine with it -- but just stand far back when lighting it. Watcha making? Veggie burgers? I bought some veggie hot dogs last week, but ended up not making them yesterday. I don't really like regular hot dogs, so I was wondering why I bothered to get them. Have you had them before? Are they any good?

Tneah -- Yes, yes, let's meet next week! HOORAY! :) On Wednesday I'm supposed to meet a friend from work, but would Thursday still work for you? Would it be OK to meet if the guys are still there from SLC?? I was thinking that it would be fun to meet at Fashion Valley so I can take you to lunch -- at maybe the Cheesecake Factory if we want to be naughty }( or the Nordstrom Cafe. Of course, we could even meet somewhere near the beach . . . . What do you think? OMG!! I'm so excited that we get to meet!

BreckGirl -- Got your PM and sent you one back. :) Ah, now taking up the drums is a REALLY good idea! ;-) Yes, aren't the Nike camos adorable? I never buy anything that expensive or not on sale, but I figured it would be a fun thing to save for the August RT! Ah, carb comas are the best kind! Well, I guess carb comas AND sugar comas are the best kind. ;-)
