"MELTING" on Hump DAy!

Good morning,

I'm headed downstairs to do GS Legs but thought I'd say hi first. :)

I'm feeling so much better today. My sore throat is gone and I think my voice is back to almost 100%. Jim came over last night and we cooked dinner and then went out for ice cream. And everyone knows ice cream makes everything better. :D

Happy Hump Day to all my lovely melty friends. I'll be back once I'm sitting at my crappy desk at my wretched job.

Good morning Girlfriends!

Deb, so will you be joining Shelley and I in September? Great if you are!

Allison, I'm glad to hear you are feeling better, both physically and mentally. You seem like an all or nothing kind of gal. You are on top of the world, or cringing below it. Am I right? Moderate, sweet thing. Learn to moderate.

Kristi, I'll be looking forward to your details, but don't feel any pressure. I'm glad you like my signature. I'm liking the book on beauty and an going to make sure DD reads it.

Kara, I know there was something important I wanted to post to you, but my menopausal mind just went mushy. Maybe I'll remember later.

We ended up going to the baseball game after the church meeting. We didn't stay late though. I was pooped. Today I'll be doing 4DS LIS after work. Yay! No appointments, errands or other crap this evening. Oh, except for mailing my camera back to Cannon. I went on line and it turns out my broken camera is still under warrenty, so they will fix it or give me a new one. I'm so glad, because I couldn't afford a new one until Christmas! I better get to work. Happy morning to all the rest of the melters. I catch up with you all later.

I'm back....

Good morning Allison :

Glad you are feeling better today... what is your job? I probably read it before but need a reminder!

Robin:
yummm blueberry muffins are my favorite! I think Leanne posted a good recipe, maybe WW? Sorry to hear about your co-worker..I just found out one of mine died on Tuesday...

Shannon:
mmm..now I am wondering what crazy person named Shannon thinks I am her "friend" now?..I wish it was you and not some cyberspace kook! Glad to hear you worked it out with the person at work.. nothing is worse than a bad work relationship.. makes the job even cra**ppier!

Leanne:
Do you use water or milk in the oatmeal? and a lot? so that you have a lot of moisture left when it is done? I always found that when I tried to put protein powder in oatmeal it make it really thick and pasty..I am still waiting for Lauren's DVD to arrive....what was the size of the earthquake? I think your hair is cute short.. but I am the same, when I had mine short I was always trying to grow it out.. why are we never happy with our hair?

Tneah:
I think I may try getting one of the CC's...except they are all so long! I don;t have an hour for the treadmill...maybe 45 min is my max. What's a deck squat? I saw in the DVD that I ordered ( some chick named Lauren) does these squats where her butt is almost on the floor! I thought if you went past your knees it was bad for them..does this houseguest guy always stay at your house in LV when you are in SD?..I am not liking that report of 55 min a day..not this girl!

Shelly:
I hope you feel better today..nothing worse than stomach upsets.. I hope we can have lunch in sept...we keep calling it a NF GTG, when actually it would be in Cheektowaga if we go to the Cheesecake factory!

Lucky Runs:
Hi...I don;t think I have seen you post here before..unless you are here under a new name? anyway Welcome!..I love the visual of you dancing away to Madonna!

Kara:
How are the kids? I guess Colin did ok yesterday? How is Emma's play coming along?

Lainie:
I bet the 3 lbs is water weight...do a big cardio day, then weigh yourself the next morning, ( in the nude of course) before drinking anything, and see if you are still up in weight.

Kristi:
Don;t worry about not posting..you are one busy Mom!

Peggie:
How was the "date" with Coach?

Have a great day ladies!

Deb

Morning all~

Robin - mmmmmmmmmmmm.... blueberry muffins! You had a super-busy day yesterday! Wow! I hope today goes smoothly.

Deb - the earlier CCs are shorter, I think 1, 2 and 3? And the nice thing about them is that they are chaptered, so you can play around with them and make your own playlist if you want a shorter workout, or all sprints or something. I'm pretty sure if we said Cheektowaga GTG nobody would know what the heck we were talking about:p

I got a good run in last night and didn't do much of anything else. I just have today and tomorrow and then TEN DAYS OFF!!!:D

Oh, I think a Cheektowaga GTG sounds like fun.

So I've been reading The New Rules... and thinking maybe I'll incorporate some of them in my routine after vacation. More lifting, more core, more protein, less cardio. I've been toying with the idea of less cardio anyway, which Shannon and I have discussed. So my question to you knowledgable gals is what kind of protein powder do you like? And don't tell me to do a search, Shelley. I'm too lazy.

Uh oh, I hear a buzzer and must go investigate. BBL.

Robin! I would never tell you to do a Search! Other people, yes. Not you ;) Well, I like the Whey Gourmet Vanilla and also the BNS Lean Dessert Whipped Vanilla. I don't have much experience with protein powders, but those two are the ones I've tried that I like. So there.

Hey ladies

Just got done with Lauren KB routine. Am pretty much dead.

Robin - I use Jarrow Formulas whey protein powder. No artifiical sweeteners, no sugar, lots of protein etc. No flavor either. You can get it in chocolate though, which is also good. I get it from Vitacost.com and I think it is about $18 for a 2 pound can. Not bad I didn't think.

Good morning Shelley and Deb -- Hope you guys have a wonderful day.

Allison - You sound much better. Good.

I have been doing my lunch cardio this week at 4 p.m. I am taking my lunch then and going to the gym. That way don't have to worry about being all sweaty and going back to work. Not that I give a sh** what anyone else thinks, but just more convenient.

Off to shower and head to work.

BBL

Hey, I'm back.

Robin--you're right about me being an all or nothing kinda gal. I'm a total drama queen too and a lifelong pessimist. The glass is ALWAYS half empty for me. :( I don't know why. I've tried to change but I can't. When things are good they're REALLY good and when things are bad I'm a total whiner and I'm miserable and let everyone know it. :p Hmmm.....things to work on, I guess.

Deb--Hello to you, my dear! How are the pups? I am the credit manager for a small manufacturing company (it's a family business) and I do customer service as well. It sucks. A lot. But the benefits and pay are decent enough for now. Once I finish my degree (in a year or so) I'll move on and look for something better. That's my motivation to finish school. ;)

Shellers--I want to come hang out with you and Robin!!! How far a drive is it from CT to NF? 8 hours? Could I fly instead you think? I'm really bad at long car trips. I have the attention span of a 2 year old old and can't make it in the car much longer than a few hours before I throw a tantrum....
Nice work on your run last night!

Peggie--what's Lauren Kettlebells? Sounds hard.....

Okie dokie, I have to go. I'm sorry I don't have much time. I was late to work this morning since I did a longer workout and kinda forgot about the clock....I got in GS Legs, Kickmax Blasts, and KM Leg Conditioning Drills. That's my new favorite leg workout.

Later Gators!

Oh, Robin--I forgot to tell you that I love the BSN Lean Dessert Whipped Vanilla protein powder. Throw in some strawberries, half a banana, a little flax seed, some ice and water and you've got yourself a scrumptious shake. YUM!

Good morning, ladies!!!

Deb - guess what? Now I did a friendship request! So keep your eye out. :)

Shelley - I am green with envy about your vacation.

Robin - I despise protein powders. I've only tried one, can't remember the brand, but that was enough. It wasn't the taste, it was the ahhh... effect it had on me. I'd just as soon not have any muscle than take that stuff. But don't you love New Rules? I have the original (for men). Are you reading the one for women? Haven't tried that one yet.

Peggie - good for you on the lunch cardio... if you can call 4 p.m. lunch - LOL! I'm glad your employer lets you have that flexibility.

Allie - yes, you can change. If I can, anybody can. :p I backslide sometimes, but overall, I think the glass is half-full more often now.

So... I had just crawled into bed last night and the phone rang. It's a friend from a previous job, who is working at a place where I applied a few weeks ago. She said they're getting ready to start interviewing. She said the boss asked her if she knew me, and that I had a very good, well-written resume. Sounds pretty positive, huh? Keep your fingers crossed.

And more good news... Today is CC 8 Day! Yes, yes, it really is. I'm ready! I'm pumped! Can I go home now? :D

Hi, Marvelous Melty Maidens,
I have another busy today, but I wanted to pop in early because I probably won't be back. I'm going to do Drill Max in a little bit -- I wanted to try something from the Terminator, but I don't have time this morning to learn anything new. Then we are off to my parents' in Victoria for a family portrait (my family, my parents, & my sister's family). We are doing this as a retirement gift for my father -- he retires tomorrow. He has been a college president since I was a sophomore in high school. We won't get back until late tonight.

I think I'll have some free time tomorrow (fingers crossed), so I'll try to get all caught up. It seems like I'm a lot busier in the summer than in the school year b/c I'm runninng around so much with the girls. Thanks for your patience with my lack of personals. You are all beautiful and awesome and I love you!

Well, I just learned that I won't have free time tomorrow b/c that directory project I've worked on off and on all summer is due Thursday, so I will have to spend all day tomorrow resizing a bunch of photos and working out all the final kinks. That's okay, though, b/c it'll be nice to have that off my plate.

Just popping in to say "hi" before we head off to Target. I know, I know. But I've got two little boys with me all the time now and it's hard to get it all done in one trip. It's mostly practical this time--cleaning supplies, food, that sort of thing. OK, bb in a bit. 4DS KB on tap for today when I get back.

Lainie, I wanted to be sure to tell you to look carefully at the road trip pictures. All shapes, all sizes, all smiles. Relax and enjoy yourself. If anything, it will motivate you for when you get back home.

Kristi, best wishes to your dad on his retirement. Oh, I can only dream. Maybe in 8 to 10 years...The picture sounds like a great gift. I gave my mom a picture from the Yellowstone trip for her birthday and she liked it.

Allie, it would be great if you could join us! I have no idea how long a drive it would be. Try googling it. I had to LOL at the glass half empty. My ex-BIL was the kind of guy who would look at the glass and say,"My Goodness, what happened to the glass!!!!"

Shannon, good luck with the job hunt! Yes, I'm reading the female version. I've never thought I worked hard enough to need supplements beyond a daily vitamin, but I thought I'd give the protein shakes a try. I know my DH will give me a hard time though.

Peggie, high fives on the late lunch time cardio. I only have 30 minutes for lunch, so I don't have time to get sweaty, much less get un-sweaty. The week following next, when I'm helping with Bible school in the evening, I've made arrangements to come into work late, so I can work out in the morning. That should be interesting.

Thanks for all the protein suggestions. I will have to note them somewhere, since I don't plan on shopping for something for a couple weeks. I'd hate to come back here in two weeks with the same question. Then Shelley would spank me for sure!

Morning All!

Boy, ya'll have been busy this morning already!

Deb, the deck squat thingys were on the workout that came with my kettlebell, I got it at target, its called the Iron Way I believe. You literally fall to the ground and roll all the way back, as in a somersault...then come back up, there ain't no way sista! My lower back is so jacked up all the time, I can barley do leg lift type ab movements. And Shelley is right, the CC 1,2 and anything up to CC7 are all shorter workouts.

Robin, blueberry muffins? I assume you mentioned these? Oh, the best protein is the Lean Dessert's from BSN. I have also had good luck with PVL proteins, get them on bodybuilding.com...

Allison, you are so cute...my extreme little "sis"...I have always been a "half full" kinda gal, I think had I not been, there have been times in my life that would have warranted heavy drug use and mental institution confinement...the good lord gave me a positive attitude cause he knew just how much crapola I would go through!;) I think its about living in the moment and doing silly stuff to amuse yourself and not taking stuff too seriously. My pessimistic self rears its ugly head when it comes to my body and stuff though, and I do not think I will ever really "get over it", just have to keep it in perspective. Did I just totally annoy you darlin? Your leg workout just slays me! Good lord woman!

Lainie bug, Target? You are hilarious...they ought to feature you and your boys in their commercials! How is DH's grumpypants attitude this morning? I hate it when my DH gets home after traveling and is grouchy too.

Pegster, You keep tempting me with your Lauren workout!

Shannon, yippee for the new job lead, if its yours it will happen right? Thats kinda how I think about things, it helps alleviate too much disappointment, and cultivates trust in a power higher than myself which is kinda nice to have since I really don't know it all...now where in the world did that ramble come from? Sorry.

Shelley, hooray for 10 days off! Whatever will you do?? I say finish one of your scrapbooks, and take the time to "learn" how to actually sit down and relax, lord knows you deserve it!

Kristi, Terminator is just workouts from Bootcamp, Cardio and Weights and Imax2 all mishmoshed together, so if you are familiar with these workouts you should not have a problem. I did the Imax Extreme off that DVD yesterday. Funny, I was thinking about doing Drillmax today too! Don't worry bout checking in and keeping up, we are thinking about you!

Who did I miss? Leanne, Kara? Hey ladies!

Well DH and I got to bed early thank goodness, houseguest only stays here when we leave for long periods of time,he was supposed to go stay in the guest house this week, but for some strange reason, sleeps there only and takes his meals in our house and uses his computer in our house and hangs out in our house--all day and night...I think he has a "guy crush" on my DH...I mean that in a good way, DH is quite smart, funny and all around a pleasure to hang with , but I want my darn privacy!

Ok, today's workout might be DrillMax, am trying to fit in as much Cathe as possible before heading back to SD. OH! Shelley, when you do P90X Legs, do you do the back workout too or skip that and just do the legs?

Hi fellow melters! Sorry I was MIA yesterday. Just swamped at work and generally exhausted. I missed you all, and wondered what was going on in Meltyland though! You were on my mind – each and every one of you!

Let’s get crackin this morning:

Deb – I think you might enjoy CCs. Like Shellers said, you can mix and match – whereas with Grace (even though I heart her) you can’t do that. So you can make your own workouts, with whatever length you like. It’s not too hard to do, either.

Shelley – Sorry about your tummy woes. How are you feeling today? To be able to work out that hard with a tummy that’s cranky is quite the feat.

Shannon – So glad to hear about your conversation with the little ball of hate. I think it’s cool you can do that. I’m a weenie and I hate confrontation. I can hold my own when necessary, but I get all kindsa wound up inside. Hate that feeling.

Leanne – YAYYY on new PJs! I heart jammies. That’s exactly the way I make my oats, too! Just a little less than a whole scoop of powder. I use the cinnamon roll one for my oats. Sometimes the choc – but it’s not as good. OMG – just read on about the earthquake! How freaky! Glad you’re okay. Sorry it was spooky – I can only imagine how NOT cool I would handle it… I was in a few tornado as a child, and that was PLENTY. When I was in 2nd grade, we were at school and had a tornado ripping through town… I was so freaked out they had to take me to my brother (in the 4th grade) to calm me down. I sat with him and his class in the basement, and not my own class. J It helped. The other time I had to hide underneath our stairwell. I screamed the whole time. It was like a freight train, honestly. So I’m with ya on the tornado thing! NO THANKS!

Kristi – how’s your wrist doing? That Terminator DVD was one of my first Cathe purchases. I LOVE THAT THING. Well, I mean I used to love it back when I was a workout fiend. Glad you took a rest day – you’re sounding so busy right now! Your body needed it. That, and a big ol freakin glass of wine.

Kara – you’re witty regardless! LOL about having creativity at night! What year is Colin in HS?

Allie – GLAD you’re feeling better!! I checked out your RT pics – great! You’re so freakin lean! You look amazing.

Tneah – how is it going with the boat? Any word? I’m sure everything will work out perfectly! I don’t think you’re a terrible boss – you’re a compassionate human being. Nothing wrong with that. Just some folks aren’t cut out for that kinda thing, and there’s nothing wrong with it. Something tells me in the right situation though, you’d be a firecracker! J Don’t worry yourself about being kind. You probably make more of an impact than you’ll ever realize. **PUTS UP HER DUKES FOR THE NASTY INVADER OF THE HOME GYM*** If he’s not out today, I’m comin to get him. *makes gruff noise*

Peggie – how’s Tayler? How was your date with Coach Sean?

Lainie – are you a Zepplin fan??? That’s awesome. I’m pretty sure your scale gained 3 pounds, not you. You need to throw that bast@rd out. And I hate how you’re talking about yourself (again pot/kettle but whatever). You are a beautiful woman both inside and out! How are your ankles treating you these days? LOVE the Nike outfit you got!!!

Robin – sorry to hear about your coworker!! L Are you feeling less tired at all? Here’s a big cup of coffee with a straw! J I read The New Rules and used that a bit before my workout mojo died an untimely death.

Hope I didn’t miss anyone – if I did – I’m sorry! I love you anyway!!! BBL (hopefully)

Tneah - when I do P90X legs, I skip the back work and just do the legs stuff. I did it on Monday and I have MASSIVE arse DOMS. TMI? Your houseguest sounds ... interesting.:p I figure if I haven't learned how to relax in my 44 years, it ain't gonna happen now. I'm doing Drillmax today too!

I can't remember anything else. I'm so freaking tired.

Thanks Shelley! I will do that workout tomorrow in honor of your crazy arse DOMS!:D I know you said your beautiful bottom got a little "lift" from this one, so hey, if its good enough for you, its good enough for me!
*tosses Shellers a Xanax* here ya go chica, this will calm your arse down!;) I must sound like a total druggie, its funny cause I am so not, I can carry these 60 tabs around all year and only use two or three...just for my occasional panic attacks that sneak up outta nowhere and scare the shee-ot out of me, feels like your having a heart attack or something. Scary.

BG, LOL!! You kill me with your humor darlin', so happy you are back today to shower us with your light and laughter!:D Uh, only a few more days until "T-time" as in "trainer time" huh? I am so excited for you, we will all be here for you every step and every cardio session I promise!

Boy its a Drillmax day huh? I am sitting here trying to talk myself out of it cause both hips are kinda talking to me this morning, I did high impact yesterday, I know DM has that one drill where you attempt to hop around like Bugs Bunny, gosh I hate that one. Sigh. Get going you lazy arse Tneah! Where is Leanne??? I am starting to get worried, I know there were no injuries concerning the quake, but still....

We hear about the boat today, either they accept the offer as is, or they come back and want more money, which we cannot do. Soooo....if its meant to be our boat, it will be our boat right?

We did look at an older large boat (cheaper too) in Florida, a "fixer upper" if you will, so are thinking about that one as well. We would have to dump a bunch into redoing the inside but it would turn out exactly like we want it and like I said its alot cheaper than the boat we just made an offer on. Time will tell....

I need to change my "quote"....DH always says this when I express my disappointment in people....its true, but kinda negative...

OK, I found the perfect quote. Do not laugh okay? But there was a point in time that I seriously considered becoming a Mother Teresa nun. Is that crazy? I felt so pulled in that direction, strange huh? But after serious consideration I realized that number one, I could not become a Catholic, and number two, I understood that I would help others in different ways, I wasn't sure how at the time, but it became clear years later. I love and admire that woman. Anyway, this is one of my favorites by her.

Hi there... we just got done celebrating our director's birthday. I avoided the cupcakes like a good girl. But oh my, there was a huge plate piled high with fresh pineapple, mango, grapes and strawberries. I sure did enjoy myself there!!!

Kristi - have a safe trip. I think the portrait is a great gift! And yay... the directory project is almost done!!!

Lanie - so, what did you come back with from Target? :p

Robin - I don't think I work hard enough either. I took some in hopes of giving my calf a boost while it was healing. I decided pretty quickly that it would just have to heal on its own. If I already have the Men's version, do you think I would benefit from reading the Women's?

Tneah - have you shooed your houseguest out to the guesthouse? "If its yours it will happen right?" Yep, that's how I'm thinking!

Breckie - I hope work slows down a bit. We want you back!

Shelley - hang in there. One more day. Then you get to sleep in for 10 days in a row.
