^^Melt Away on The Weekend!^^

Popping back in to tell Shelley,"I'll take that lasagna off your hands!:9 And so glad the "get-together" wasn't too bad.;) Post a pic of your bookshelf--oh, and who is that male singer you mentioned awhile back in the OD? His name started with an "M", I am always looking for different types of music to listen to and could not find his name/music in iTunes?

Deb, you saw a Newfie? Oh, I love it! I watch all the dog shows on Animal Planet and go beserk when the Newf comes out--so does George. Do your dogs like "watching" tv too? Isn't it the funniest thing ever?

I am sitting here in my bathrobe on the Internet tonight instead of wooing my honey... Ahh life is good....

Ciao for now dear ladies, talk at cha tomorrow!

Good Morning all!

Today I have Absolute Kickboxing on the plan... I am going to try the 60 min pre-mix...my mind and body are telling me it is Sunday and I am supposed to be doing a heavy leg workout. I'm trying to shake things up a bit.. I think I will be doing the Gym Styles this week alternating cardio on the other days..

Thanks to all for all the info about the DVD..

Leanne:
Glad you liked the movie.. DH and I have not been to a show in about 3 years! We are so bad when it comes to that stuff..

Shelley:
It sounds like you were able to get through that family thing ok.. Your lasagna sounds heavenly! Yes. please post a pic of the book shelf when it is done.

Tneah:
for some reason my dogs do not even look at the TV when it is on and only react if a dog barks on a show I am watching.. sometimes if a doorbell rings on TV they both go running and barking to the door..which makes me laugh :)

Have a great day!

Deb:)

Good morning, Melters -

Gee, this weekend is busy. I guess that's a good thing, since a big part of the reason is that I spent most of yesterday with a good friend! It sets everything else back though, so I need to get moving.

I didn't eat too sinfully on our shopping trip, but I certainly broke a few of my new rules! On the up side, I bought a 9-lb body bar to use with Absolute Kickboxing!! I can't wait to use it. I'm trying to remember if it has a lot of jumping in it... can anybody tell me? If not, I'll bet my calf would behave. I did Low Max again yesterday, it it was even better than on Wednesday. FINALLY.

I'm really sorry I don't have time for personals today, but I did want to drop by and say hi.

I see that the preorder mania is going strong! Even with all the excitement, I still don't feel the urge to get this one.

Well, I'll see you ladies tomorrow. The dog REALLY wants to go for a walk!

Morning!

I'd send y'all some lasagna, but I have a feeling it wouldn't be so good once it got there:p

Deb - have fun with Absolute KB!

Shannon - there's a bit of jumping in Absolute KB (some jumping jacks and some moves that you can make power moves if you want to) but it's easily modified to low impact.

I ran 6.5 miles this morning. I wanted to do 8, but but my *ahem* digestive system was having no part of that. It's the first time in ages that I've run outside and it was very nice. The sun was out but now it's clouding over and we're supposed to get some weird rain/snow mix today.

I have a busy day today - all the cleaning I didn't get to yesterday, laundry, painting plus a friend wants me to come over and help her organize her computer space. Not really looking forward to it because this particular "friend" always manages to sneak in snide comments about my body.

Okay, off I go. I'll check back later.

Oh, I forgot! Tneah, Maynard James Keenan is the singer. He's lead vocals for Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. Here's a link to a youtube video for a song called Three Libras by A Perfect Circle that gives you an idea of his voice.

Hi,

Well I did the Absolute Kickboxing combat drill pre-mix + core. I am not too sure about this one.. first of all, I used my Troy Lite BB because the only body bar I have is 15 lbs. This may have been too light. Second, our ceiling is so low that I wacked it with the tip of the bar and actually gouged the tile x( .. not good. Anyway, I may give this one another try before putting in the Ebay pile! I am just a traditional kind of girl...give me weights and the treadmill and I am happy!

Deb

Hi there!

Hope you're all continuing to have a nice weekend! The last few days have been so hectic that I'm looking forward to relaxing and staying home today. The DH also returns from his snowboarding trip sometime this evening, which will be nice. I miss that bloke! I haven't been able to work on my beading project for a few days, so I hope to bead for a bit today. I'll also be doing the 4DS LIS workout, which is just so much fun!

Shelley -- I'm so glad to hear that yesterday wasn't as dreadful as you thought it would be! Your lasagna also sounds heavenly! Send us photos of the bookshelf when you get it finished. What does your "friend" say about your body? She should be saying how ripped and strong you are!!:)

Shannon -- Sounds like you're having a fun weekend! Hooray that your calf is doing better!

Deb -- I'm so glad that you mentioned that Ab. KB didn't fit in your space. I was worried about buying it since I didn't want to have to buy a Body Bar and my barbell is too long and heavy, and I think that I'd have the same space issues as you. Taking a chunk out of the ceiling doesn't sound good!:-( I'll hold off on getting this one for the time being.

Tneah -- Glad that you were able to relax tonight, and hopefully the DH will feel better soon!

Lainie -- Got your email, and will respond to it later. I'm so glad that you're feeling better! Just think -- tomorrow you can wear your new Cathe clothes while you start your 4DS rotation! How fun will that be?!

Hi to everyone else who follows!

Awwwwwwww... Deb! I'm sorry you didn't like Absolute KB. I just love it, but then, kickboxing is my thing.

Leanne - she makes little comments like how I'm out of proportion (small top half, larger bottom half), or one time we were talking about working out and it was when I was doing P90X and I had really leaned out through the lat area, so she asked to see. After I showed her, she asked me how old I was again, and then gave me a funny look and said "oh well, then, you have lots of time....". Time to what, exactly? Get flabby? She's about four years older than me and does yoga and some running. Anyway, enough about that. I'm glad your DH is coming home soon! Enjoy your day!

Happy Sunday gals!

Shelley, really like his voice! Thanks for the info about him, now I know where to hunt him down. Great songwriting, love that, its so lacking in music lately. Or at least the more "commercial" music out there. Oh, and for that "friend" of yours who likes to make snide remarks? Help her "organize" her computer and "accidentally" wipe out her hard drive or something}( With friends like that you don't need enemies right? We are already hard enough on ourselves without having someone else pound us into the ground too! Just my 2 cents darlin';)

Leanne, hey Miss Cheery!:7 You always sound so cheerful, I love it! Enjoy time with your DH today, wish I could say the same, mine is running a fever still 100 degrees, and is so congested.

Shannon, your workouts are getting better and better, thatta girl!

Deb, I kinda feel the same way about workouts, give me the weights and the access to different cardios-usually the elliptical, straight up kickboxing and the treadmill with maybe one step workout thrown in for good measure!;)

Lainie, let me know how you like the oh my bod clothing, I really do not like the tops, I had to order the large cause of my large chest and the bottoms of the tops sorta "hang away" from my body. I like the pants but they start slipping down as I am working out, and I ordered the long pairs too. Overall worth it, but am anxious for your take on them. Oh and do not put these in the dryer, they will shrink!

Well today is supposed to be a rest day for me and quite frankly my body is telling to rest. I have been trying to be really clean the last couple days, getting my protein in first (one gram per pound of bodyweight) and then adding lots of veggies and some grapes...last night I did screw up a little and had 8 ounces of white wine:p I needed the carbs ladies, eating super duper clean is hell! I am just experimenting with this eating for now...think I might go out to my little studio and paint today, we have the guys from work coming down AGAIN tonight...well, gotta go and wave some sage around the house to cleanse it, I do not want to get this flu bug my DH has!

BBL maybe...:7 ;)

Edit: Just read Shelleys post right as I posted mine. Your "friend" sounds like a bee-otch. I have always wanted to use that word...Sounds like you have a great body, hips and an arse and a pretty upper body that probably looks fab in tank tops and stuff. Lucky you! I have no hips and if I didn't have boobs would probably look like a man.

Hey again,

Oh, Shelley, like Tneah said, your "friend" does sound like she is not a nice person at all! I know you look fabulous since we've all seen your awesome back. It sounds to me like she is honestly just jealous of how fit and toned you are! Try to brush off her comments if you can! I know it's easier said than done!:)

Tneah -- You're such a sweetie! I'm glad that today is a rest day for you! It sounds like you've been so busy that you need a day off! I've also been trying to eat 1 gm of protein per pound. It's hard, isn't it? I actually bought two boxes of Clif's Builder's Bars last week on Amazon since they are supposed to be a more "natural" protein bar and have 20g of protein in each one. They're pretty tasty, but have about 370 calories per bar. Hope your DH feels better soon! Keep waving that sage around to detox all those flu germs! Have fun painting!

Hi everyone. I am sooo sore from yesterday's Bosu: Long & Lean workout--particularly in the abs. A good sign, I think. Today is supposed to be a rest day, but I might work on getting down a couple combos from Amy Bento's ASC2. Then I might do some yoga or a segment of Stretch Max. I'll do my semi-workout right after I post here.

Does anyone know if the Compendium has been updated with the 4DS workouts? If not, I might try to work on that this week. I also asked that in the Open forum.

Shelley, I wish you could ship some of that spinach and grilled portobello mushroom lasagna to me. Yum. Maybe you could email the recipe, though? As for your "friend", I have known those people. Ugh. I have so far seen your back and face (with that cute haircut a couple months ago) and you look great to me.

Tneah, so far I have only worn the Oh My Bod outfit when I first tried it on, so I haven't used it for a workout yet--guess that'll be the real test! My boobs must not be as big as yours, though (I'm a D right now, but have been bigger after pregnancy) because I didn't have a problem with the boobage. Or maybe it's just that the rest of me is also large so I don't have a problem with the large fit.

Shannon, good luck with the rest of your busy weekend.

Deb, sorry you had trouble with Absolute Kickboxing. So did you do just the combat intervals and haven't tried the regular kickboxing portion?

Leanne, I actually changed around my rotation just a little so I could start with LIS tomorrow and wear my LIS outfit with it. :) I put the new rotation on my blog today.

Hi all.

Shelley, the lasagna sounds devine. I'm glad the GTG wasn't too awful. Hey, and your friend? Well, with friends like that blah, blah, blah.

tneah, sorry to hear your DH is ill and your hot and heavy plans got cancelled.

Lainie, sounds like you are finally over your marathon illness. Have fun dressing like the crew while you workout. LOL.

Leanne, I always love those rare times when DH went away for the weekend. Occassionally I would have to work and he and the kids would go visit his parents. I especially loved the evening when they would all come home. Peace and quiet is nice, but so is being surrounded by loved ones.

Well, I decided yesterday would be a cheat day, since I knew I was going out for Mexican and I planned to have a couple glasses of wine in the evening. I'm really pleased to say I had no problem climbing back up on the pretty-clean-eating wagon. We had a fellowship meal after church this morning and I even took a PB&J sandwich and an apple instead of eating all those yummy comfort foods. Tonight is pizza night, but I made myself a big salad instead. Workout was CCv7.

Hi to all the rest of you weekend melters. See you all tomorrow.

Good evening melters. Today I was supposed to do lower body weights, but frankly I have some DOMS setting from yesterday's fun with Absolute Kickboxing and Christi Taylor so I gave myself a rest day. My obliques are especially feeling it, probably from the combat drills. Good thing I didn't do the core segment after all.

Deb: Sorry to hear about your ceiling! My husband got home after I did my workout and was (in jest) looking around the room for damage. That last drill with the helicopters I got pretty close to gouging the ceiling tiles but managed to avoid it. I think DH wants me to put a mark up there because he still feels guilty about a mark he made when he walked the snow shovel thru the living room. Did you do the kickbox portion? The kickbox segment is the part I am most impressed with.

Leanne: Hope your DH had a good time with 'the boys'. I bet he's exhausted!

Shelley: Some 'friend', huh? That's really strange the 'you have lots of time' comment. I agree with Tneah, sabotage her computer if she's mean to you. Don't get mad, get even! }(

Tneah: Hope your DH starts feeling better. Hey, and wine is good for you! No need to apologize for a little wine when you're eating so clean.

Lainie: I haven't seen any update of the compendium either. When you update it, let us know when you post it to your blog. I never replaced my copy when I lost my hard drive last year. I hadn't backed it up, but I still have it on hard copy.

Robin: mmmm Mexican. Enjoy your cheat day. Yesterday I had a couple slices of pizza. It was the first pizza since before Halloween. Oh it was good.

Wanted to pop back in and take a break from mopping floors.x( I also managed to paint today which is so nice, in fact I am headed out to the studio again later on tonight.

Just wanted to say "Hey" to TK!:) And thanks for the nice words. I was eating super clean today, until I read the "Ice Cream" thread in the OD. Oh dear, I just had to run and get that slow churned, lowfat-lower calorie ice cream by Dryers.:9 I shared some with George:7 :7 heehee. You had pizza? Yum. Boy, limiting the carbs and skipping all the stuff I like to dip veggies in etc....makes a person a little nutso. Talk at you all tomorrow! Oh and I rested today too. It was a hard workout week.
