mama mommy mom 3-9 week

Becky, All that paperwork will be so worth it when you are in your own home!!!:D
I'm with you on LowMax - OUCH!

Stephanie, I'm so sorry about the weight. I hope the thyroid issue gets solved.

Lisa, I get most of my (awesome) recipes from cookscountry.com. You have to pay to access their recipes. I've been getting their mag in the mail for years. I LOVE them. Also Cooks Illustrated. YUM. CI is a bit more involved tho.
I also read foodgawker.com. Fun to read sometimes.
Sorry about the sickness. Sounds like you're still getting great WO's in! YAY for DOMS!

Nice day here....making a YUMMY roast & gravy (cookscountry!). EVERYTHING they have a recipe for is DELISH!

Did CCV2 last night and it was awesome! Did it again this morning and increased my speed! It gets me so sweaty - I love it! I have NEVER sweat this much with Cathe. CRAZY!

Today was STS disc 5. I love working triceps.

Kate, I took a look at foodgawker.com and I like it! I usually use Cooking Light and allrecipes.com, but now I have a new one!

Lisa, we're moving to Cincinnati. Jillian makes me hurt the next day too, even though I don't think I will when I'm doing her workouts. Especially abs!

Stephanie, hope they figure things out. If you are hypothyroid, it is easy to fix and your metabolism should fix itself.

Have a great night everyone! LO is crying, so must rescue her.

Becky

Tripceps are a fave of mine too, Becky! Glad you like foodgawker! There's another one similar that I dont go to all that often...tastespotting.com.

hi mommas,

didnt get here yesterday and im reading up... LOL at all the turd talk!

received my indie yesterday. managed to put it together all by myself so who needs husbands, anyway? just kidding, i really do miss him =( but yeah, put it together myself in about 40 mins and took it for a test ride. it is definitely really stylish, as nice looking as i hoped. i will work up a more serious review after using a few more days.

becky - good luck with all your house stuff and yes the paperwork is riDONKulous.

maggie - how are your knees, etc. feeling? i am still thinking my knee is not 100% and im giving it a few more days.

stephanie - sorry to hear about your appt and i hope it is nothing or something easily resolved.

homemade girl scouts cookies.... ignore ignore ignore!!!

workouts are still on the "light" side for me right now... yesterday 2.2 mile walk, today 45 mins yoga and short 1/2 mile walk to and from my moms group.

hi kate, candra, lisa!

wendy

Wendy, Thanks for the preliminary stroller review! Looking forward to hearing more. We're going to Chicago for a few nights during Spring Break and I would love to know more about the stroller so I can decide if I should get it or not.
Don't discount those workouts! You are doing more than 90% of the population!!! I had to fight my mind for a long time----- thought if it wasnt Cathe than it didnt count....I *try* to be easier on myself now. And think of the cal burn we get totin' wee ones aorunf all the time!

Did an hour of Classical Stretch this morning...really felt it!

WHAT THE HECK!!!!

today i am 5 months pp...... (happy bday julia!)

and i have linea negra!!!!

never had it before today!
isnt it supposed to show up while you're pg?
and its in a circle around my belly button....not a line going down!

WIERD!!!

Kate, that is weird! Z turned 2 months yesterday and had her doctors appointment today. She got 3 shots and 1 oral. She turned bright red and screamed. I felt so bad, but I know its good for her and I'm happy she's all vaccinated before we take our trip to Tallahassee for Match Day next Thursday and then go up to Ohio. Here's her stats: weight 11lb 12oz, height 23 in, and head 39 cm. In weight and height she jumped from 10th percentile to just over 50th. Her head has always been 50th. She's growing so well!

This AM I did Cardio Kicks. Haven't done that one in a while. It seems like STS is intensifying all of my cardio workouts. Punches usually don't cause me much pain, but they sure did today! Then I did some planks.

Wendy, I agree with Kate. Great job on your workouts. We definitely get A W/O throughout the day carrying our babies...and I know yours weighs more than mine!

Hi to everyone else. Must go snuggle with my sore bottomed baby.

Becky

becky, gentle hugs to z from me!:(
i had dh do ck w/ me once - hahahahahaha!
i have no idea what j weighs....a lot tho!!! i have waaay fatty bmilk!
your mind must spin at night w/ all you have coming up....i know mine would!

Kate-I can't believe our babies are 5 mos already:( I have no idea about getting linea negra pp:confused: My sister just got back from Chicago. They stayed at the Hilton downtown and loved it. Her baby is 6 mos and she kept him in the front pack the whole time. She said it was easier than taking the stroller everywhere.

Stephanie-sorry about your ankle. When will you get your results back from the doc? With Wilson I didn't lose any weight until he was 8 mos old! I was bf and working out:eek: I thought I would never lose the weight but it all came off b/f his 1st b-day.

Wendy-glad you got your stroller and liking it so far. Any exercise you can squeeze in is good!

Becky-poor Zoey:( I hate getting their shots. I know it is good for them but it breaks my heart to see them cry.

Hi Lisa, Trish and Maggie!

I did KPC today. I needed a break from Chalean and today was a cardio day so I just subbed this w/o. It was so much fun. I am going to take a shower and then take Owen out to ride his bike. It is 70 here today and supposed to be in the 80's by next week:D I love this weather.

Ryder just woke up bbl

Candra

candra, workout, shower, play outside....sounds like a perfect day!
the more i think aboiut it.....a stroller would be a pain. im such a carrry-my-baby type.... the stroller would just end up being for isabel! "but momma, my legs are tiiiiiiiired!":p
5 months have gone by waaaaay too fast. i want to say "my new baby" but, gulp, shes not so "new" anymore!:( waaaaaah!:p

I AM SO EXCITED!
we're staying at the embassy suites in chicago.....taking the train to get there! ive wanted to do this w/ our girls for a long time....glad we're finally doing it. im so excited to take them to shedd... and american girl place! theyve lusted after that catalog for yrs....will let them get a doll now.

ALSO!!! i got all our papers ready to send to our accountant! i ALWAYS throw it together fo him the wk before its due....hes gonna be so happy!

this is a great day!!!

and i got a ton of laundry done too!!
wish i could be this productive everyday!

Kate-- your trip sounds like so much fun!!!

Candra--Thanks for telling me about your experiences with weight after having Wilson. That made me feel better. I'm really hoping now it's not my thyroid because I'd really have to change the way I eat. Supposedly there are certain foods that are bad for your thyroid, like peanuts, strawberries, peaches, SOY and maybe even spinach and sweet potatoes... things I really like. Plus, I just really would hate to have to take hormones ... the whole process could take months to decipher the correct dosage, etc. It may be that my hormones are just off and I need to go back on the pill. My doc told me it's a big myth that the pill increases your chances for b cancer, which I didn't know. Anywho...

Hi to everyone else!!! Hope everyone is having a good day!! It's been sleeting here today, 34 degrees. It was 80 degrees on Monday. WEIRD weather!!

Hi ladies--I am extremely sore from disks 7 and especially 9 (legs).

Stephanie--sorry about your possible thyroid woes. Let us know how it goes. My SIL does some kind of natural thyroid thing through a naturopath. She really likes it.

Lisa--I enjoy sewing, but I haven't done it in a while because I don't have a machine. I'm going to get one with our tax refund. Don't be to hard on yourself--you work outside the home, so you really do have two whole jobs (((hugs)))

Becky--I am loving ASC3. I've learned combos 1-2 down pat and 3 and 4 (today's lesson) are coming along. I love her cardio stuff, especially once I get the choreography down.

Wendy--my knee seems fine right now. It's my ankle and achilles tendons that feel tweaky. If it's not one thing it's another. I'm 40 and wondering how much I'll be modifying in 10 years:confused:) Hope your knee feels better soon.

Kate--enjoy your trip! When are you going? Sounds like a lot of fun.

Candra--enjoy your lovely weather. I have mixed feelings about good weather as it seems to bring the neighbors and all their baggage outside of their home....., but all in all I'm looking forward to spring.

Take care all!

Maggie:)

stephanie, i like your monday weather! we're aching for some nice days. feels like ive been in the house since october!
i hope its not thyroid too - id hate to miss out on all that good food --- and its so nutritious too!

maggie, i love your neighbor stories!!
yay for extreme soreness!!!
chicago will be in april....a long wait for little isabel! :p

aw becky, the shots are no fun =( but yay on z's weight gain!

candra - i love KPC, so fun!

maggie - LOL at the neighbors coming out... i cant wait to hear a good story

kate - what an exciting trip! i was in chicago once for work and really enjoyed it. im totally a city gal, love to visit other cities. i agree that taking a stroller is probably not a good idea, with train travel and then pubic transit (im assuming?) in chicago, def better off with some kind of carrier...or if you do take one i wouldnt take an all terrain or full size stroller. do you have an umbrella style stroller that reclines some like a maclaren? cant remember how old your baby is.

thanks, ladies for the good words about my "light" workouts. i just never feel like walking is enough, even when im really powering it and jogging periodically (and this i am NOT doing right now). today i did 3.7 miles. wish i had made time for some stretching but alas...

i just got shiva rea's fluid power vinyasa flow from netflix and i want to work some of that into my rotation. some of it is a little hokey for me but theres also some good stuff. tomorrow is PUB again. and i hope to be able to get back to some step by the end of the weekend!

wendy

wendy, we are lazy-beach-vacationers so this is kind of new for us! hope it goes well! and who am i kidding - i carry j all day long....like vaca would be any different?!:p (julia is 5 months....:(:(...it goes too fast!)
its nice to do new wo's....even if they are hokey!:D pub sounds great tho! i got my best results from doing that!

stephanie, how are you doing???

did cs legs & butt before dds woke up this morning....just did a nice 30 min steady state on the ellip. im loving sts recovery week!!!

Hi ladies!
Kate-- I'm doing much better today. I haven't heard from the doc yet. They are notorious for making you wait it out over the weekend! My ankle still is wobbly and swollen/bruised, but I'm going to attempt to do brunch and shopping with my mom and sister tomorrow. A little retail physical therapy .
BTW: I'm a lazy beach vacationer too. Give me a condo on the beach, a good book and a sand mat and leave me alone all day. We don't even eat out. I cook (and make lots of dacquaris (sp?) ). Sadly, we're having to skip the beach AGAIN this year because of this stupid recession. I sure hope we start to see the light at the end of the tunnel soon. I miss my beach vacations.

Maggie--If I do have thyroid issues, I'm kind of scared of natural remedies just because they aren't FDA regulated, and I've got mitral valve prolapse and don't like to take any chances with meds. I'm a bit of a prude! Your STS workouts sound like so much fun!! Are you enjoying it?

Wendy-- your workouts sound great to me!!

Hi to Becky, Candra, Trish, Jen and anyone else I may have missed.

Curious, has anyone tried the Alternate Day Diet? I read about it in my Health magazine. I'm such a sucker for fad diets!

Better go, I've got a very squirmy little baby in my lap who needs a bottle. Hope you all have a very happy Friday!! (Thank goodness this week is OVER!!)

stephanie, lol! retail phys therapy! i love it!
hope dr has good news 4u.
sorry abtt the vaca:(...bummer.
never heard of that diet.....

Just got my test results: all negative!!! :) So that means that my hormones are wacky right now and I may need to go back on the pill. Oh well. I'm SO glad it wasn't thyroid problems. Whew! Now I can't blame it on "gland problems," though, I have to own my fat really really try harder to get rid of it.

great news stephanie!!!
i need to buckle down on my eats. bday party tonight was too much pizza, too much cake. i am severely mad at myself and knew i would be.
learn to leave the room, kate!!!

Kate --don't beat yourself up! Everything in moderation -- even birthday cake. (Though, this advice comes from me, the fat chick ;)) I'm ordering the Alternate Day Diet book. Apparently it's a diet where you semi-fast a few days of the week and on alternate days eat normally (no bingeing or anything). Health mag said it gets good results. I would think it would mess with your metabolism, but apparently it "turns on your skinny gene." I don't think I have a "skinny gene" but if I do, I want to turn it on so that I can get into my "skinny jeans."

I'll keep you all posted. I know you're on the edge of your seats. Oh! And I got my STS Ab Circuits today (the only part of STS I'm doing!). SOOOOO excited!! A workout I can do with a gimpy ankle!! Happy day!
