Major vent!!! Shot right in my achilles' heel!!

Forgive my spelling, but I simply am seeing red right now, so much so that it took everything in my power to not walk out of the hotel I work at after 6 years...

I was accused by my desk manager of calling our housekeepers something that begins with W and ends with E...the fact that I refuse to type the word here should tell you all you need to know how I feel about that language in general.

I wasn't asked if I had said..I was asked why did I say it?? You'd think after 6 years, I'd warrant a little respect, apparently not. A couple of years ago, I would have walked out...I am hoping that there will be a forthcoming apology my way.

I absolutely hate the kind of language I was accused of, and made known my feelings about the situation. I have a very strong sense of humor. and I from time to time will say things I wish I hadn't, but vulgar language has no place in my life..I know I have to deal with it from time to time...but it won't be coming out of my mouth anytime soon.

I would almost rather be accused of stealing than have what happened to me today happen!

Jerry - I'm so sorry about that. It is a hurtful thing to be accused of something that you never did - and for people to just assume you did it (and I would think these people you work with would KNOW the type of person you are by now).

Hang in there!

I am sorry this happened to you. I don't know you, but from what I have read on these threads, I cannot imagine that you would do something like this. You are not that type of person. I hope someone comes to their senses and you get your apology. Keep you head held high and keep on being the great guy that you are!

Thanks!!!!!! You are all so sweet!!!! The thing I am most bugged by is that I wasn't even accused..it was assumed that I said it. When I hear of conversations of this nature, I am always the first person to walk away from the conversation, something my employers should be well aware of in 6 years.

Hi Jerry:
I'm totally embarrassed to say that I just sat here for about 5 minutes trying to figure out what the word was...duh! :) Anyway, although I'd be fuming too, I hope that you don't let someone else's complete stupidity get you down for the entire day. Hope you're feeling better now!!

Alicia

I'm pretty well cooled off now, and smarter for the experience. I learned a long time ago that you can't control what other people say, only what you say.

I'm not turning cartwheels over what happened, mind you, but as long as I know what I didn't say, that's pretty much all I can control.

Thanks again for allowing me to vent...if I was at home now, I would have popped in KPC, even though I had already done BootCamp cardio earlier, and would not lack for finding an imaginary target!!

Thank you! It took me a minute to figure it out even with that. It has been a long day! I hope that your day improves. Just from reading all your posts I find it hard to believe that you would say something like that to anyone. You seem to have a kind way about you. Mary

Is there a full moon or something dark hovering over the members of CatheNation today? Almost every thread I've been in tonight something bad or sad is happening. Sending Good Vibes out to all members in CatheNation.
Jerry I hope you get an apology.

First off, Jerry, as you said, you know you didn't say it. And you know you can only control you. Hold your head high and look them straight in the face and act like you normally do. Now.....you go tell your manager that if they don't apologize right now, I'll bring my brood of kids and SO's kids and we'll stomp all over that place, pop the circuit breakers and make so much noise they'll wish us gone! (again) LOL

(the fact that several of us, myself included, don't know what word you mean says something about us all, don't ya think? HA!)

Gayle...

One of the reasons I didn't walk out was fear of retribution from you....you'd lose your swanky discount...;)

Seriously, I am going in today as if nothing ever happened..I talked with DW last night and she thinks that while my manager (not the woman who checked you out, BTW) owes me an apology, she feels as though acting like I have always acted would speak volumes more about me than confronting her would. As usual, she's right.

Jerry-I figure if it came down to it, I could always get a discount somewhere else! LOL All I'd have to do is find another wonderful gentleman who is generous and thoughtful who works at a nice hotel! :)

I agree with your wife, too, for what it's worth!

Gayle

And isn't too bad on the eye...you left that out, Gayle...
