lower body workout for someone who has weak feet?

Hello I was wondering what one of cathes premixes or dvd can you think of that is more of a slow building leg work i like legs and glutes dvd. But in addition to this one can you guys think of one that is gentle? I had bone surgery on feet awhil back so it makes it hard to do static lunges (balance issues now) and i have a lower back issue so i can not do heavey deadlifts and using a barbell for squats hurts the back. I like Legs and glutes because it has lunges but there not static and if there is i have skipped it or did my own thing. I love the ankle weights section and floor work. I was wondering what else is a good one I guess you can say for a begginer even though im not a begginer with arms and cardio. I also have had hip fracture so i need a workout to strengthen my legs bones and muscles. Thanks.

Have you tried looking at Total Body Trisets Lower Body?

There are deadlifts but you could lighten up on those with the weight and it doesn't use a barbell for squats. The elevated lunges may need to be tweaked if you have balance issues. You could always do them near a wall so that you can brace yourself if needed.

Hopefully others on here have more ideas for you.

Hi Renee,

What about Turbo Barre? In my opinion, it's an excellent, low impact, gentle, yet VERY EFFECTIVE lower body workout. You don't need any weight to tone your thighs/glutes with this one! You will burn, and burn good . You can always modify according to your range of motion too, so if let's say you can't go deep on the plie or up on your toes, you can stay shallow and keep your feet grounded. You'll still get an excellent workout.

As far as arms and cardio, believe it or not, you can get a good, low impact cardio workout just using your stability ball. When I attended physical therapy, they had me bounce up and down on the ball using my arms for more cardio output and balance. This works your core nicely too. The ball is great for so many things; inner thigh squeezes, push-ups, outer thigh leg lifts, even walking in place holding the ball and lifting it up/down, left/right, will give you a great overall body conditioning workout with no weight whatsoever!

Good luck & take care,

Natasha

Dang! I have both of those..why didn't I think of that and lower body triset does squats but uses the ball on ur back! I have a lot of cathe work outs I just get tired of having to skip sections. But these are wonderful ideas.

How about the floor portions of Butts and Guts and the Gym Style Legs? I really like floor portions. Plus, as you get better, you will be able to add the rest of standing parts. Hope you're better soon.

I do have gym style legs but not butts and guts. I do like floor work to. I also like ankle weight. These are all great ideas. I knew you ladies could lead me into good ideas!

WOW Renee, you have been through so much.
I can tell by your posts you are really trying hard to work through all these things you've had going on.
I just wonder if you would be best off with a really good Physical Therapist who could tailor a workout specifically for you so you don't end up with any more injuries. A good Physical Therapist can change your life!:) A not so good one will just waste your time, so it is important to get one who specialized in the kinds of issues you are having-not somebody who just recently got a 4 year degree. They can work you back up to working out with Cathe, and in the meantime you can continue to work upper body with Cathe.
I'll be praying for you.:)

Thanks Lynda.
I love to exercise but I have a fight with my body as of late. I worry I may never get back to where I was. But I keep trying. My foot surgery was for hammer toes and bunions when I was 30. My fracture happened when I went to basic training at 38. I finished even though I was hurt. But doc wanted me to recycled but I wasn't staying in basic longer then I needed. He said it was stable and wont get worse but wont getting well til I rested and I did..after I graduated. LOL I got more test and thatts when they said I have osteopnea.

I just can't give up. I really think my body would feel better if I'd b able to lose some weight. But hard to lose if I don't exercise. Thanks I need prayer
