Low Sugar Diet = Headaches

Hello everyone!

I know that there was a thread a couple of months ago about Jackie Warners Book This is why your fat......
I went out and purchased the book and really liked what she had to say. So I have been following her meal plan and it's been really good very clean meals and simple. I know that her thing is sugar and whatever you put in your mouth should not be more than 5g of sugar. Also drink 3 liters of waters day.

I started her meal plan on Sun and today is Friday I have lost 3 1/2 lbs so far and have been going to the bathroom every single day. I feel really great not bloated everything's good however I've been having headaches almost everyday and was wondering if it could because of the diet.
I am working out 3 days on 1 day off with a mix of cardio and weights for 40 minutes. I am not following her workout plan.

Another question is- I recently purchased The Firm's new workout system called Firm Express each workout is only 20 minute's long and it's a combo of plyo-cardio and weights and I have been doubling up on them totaling 40 minutes which is great because I have been so short on time lately and because for me I just cant workout for more than 40-50 min I feel like it's just too much time for me my mind just shuts down after anything more than that. I do have all of cathe's dvd's and want to go back to her which I most definitely will in April but I will be doing some premixes and some shock cardio cause I know those dvd's clock in around 45 min.
Does anybody else do premixes without feeling guilty??? That's why I like the The firm's new workout because they are only 20 minutes so when I complete 2 of them I feel like an allstar. LOL

I know too that the new thing is work out harder not longer...

I absolutely do the premixes, its some of the best top things about Cathe Dvds. Let me think, which are my favorites (in no particular order) Never feel guilt for only doing a 40-50 min. workout.;)

1. CW cardio only premix Its the best one!!! So much fun. I can get myself to do it even when I feel bad.
2. Body Max II short cardio premix is fun too, has some plyos.
3. Imax 3 has a step (no blasts) premix its ok. Kind of flys by.
4. Drill Max: Time Saver cardio 40 min.
5. Intensity: Step only 36 min.
6. LIC: Cardio blast time saver is 48 min. One of my favorites!!
7. Low max: All of the premixes are less than 45 min.

Some people complain of the "low carb flu" when they drop sugar and carbs quickly, it definitely goes away after a week or so, 2 max for some people. But did you stop drinking coffee? Quitting caffeine cold turkey definitely causes headaches.

Also agree, I just went through giving up cola's and caffeiene and I really had some terrible headaches. The good news is your body is thanking you, but you are experiencing withdrawals that will go away. Mine lasted a week, for me, my worst day was the forth day of going cold turkey. I'm feeling much better now, but unlike you I didn't lose any weight.
It's okay, my body may be a little different and I've been doing Cathe's w/o's getting in about an hour each day. I'll figure it out! :) Gotta have hope, like a friend told me, at least my heart is probably feeling better about the change! :)

Agreed.
It's like a junkie going through drug withdrawl.

Yep, sugar withdrawals. They'll go away if you hang in there!

And about your second question, I do premixes all the time. No guilt! 30 or 40 minutes of good cardio is nothing to feel bad about!

Does anybody else do premixes without feeling guilty???
Absolutely!
There are several workouts of Cathe's where I like the premixes more than the workout as-is.

I always used to do workouts of about an hour, but lately, I've been into workouts that are about 40-45-minutes long, and I'm thoroughly enjoying them. Longer isn't necessarily better.

When I first attempted to eliminate sugar...It wasn't pretty! I got headaches, the shakes, etc. I wished it wasn't so terrible, but I know it's for the best.

P.S. - I too bought Jackie Warner's book and thought it had some great pointers in it. some of the recipes were really tasty and easy too! I've been attempting to eat clean for a few months now and have had some great results.
