Low Max and Kick Max questions

I'm looking to add to my repetoire of low impact high intensity cardio only workouts for my cardio only days. I'm a bit confused about Low Max and Kick Max and am hoping someone here can help.

Is Low Max predominantly a cardio workout? From the description it sounds as though it includes a fair bit of lower body conditioning. How much of Low Max is purely cardio only?

I know Kick Max has a low impact premix but this also sounds like it's just a conditioning workout rather than a purely cardio workout - is this correct?

(I don't like splits and do two days of total body strength/toning, one day of circuit and three days of cardio only)

I consider Low Max a cardio workout. You do some squats and lunges but not enough to really call lower body conditionining, IMO.

KickMax does have some leg drills at the end, but I usually do the Bootcamp premix which only has the kickbox segments and the blast (which is high impact, BTW). That premix makes it a good cardio workout.

Do you have LIC? I love it as a circuit workout or as a low-impact workout (if you do the cardio only premix).

here's my two cents

Low Max has seven cycles of about five minutes cardio, 2 minutes of conditioning: squats, lunges, that sort of thing. For just cardio, you can do the cardio only premix. This one looks easy on the clip they have, but it does get your heart pumping, at least for me. I was surprised by how winded I was towards the end, especially rounds 6 and 7.

Kick Max has two low impact premixes, one with the leg conditioning and one without. It is also a good cardio workout. I too, like the BC premix, but it is high impact for the first ten minutes.

I also agree that another beauty is LIC. It gives you so many options with the premixes. It is all low impact, but has high intensity blasts, which burn fat. It has weighted work and an AWESOME core workout at the end. You can do the cardio only premix and then even add the blast off premix if you wanted to add more cardio.

I have all three and love all of them.

hope this helps.

I don't believe there is a cardio only premix in Low Max since it's considered a cardio workout already. There are 2 premixes: 1 for intervals 1-4 and one for intervals 4-7.

Right, there are those two premixes, and then a third. Maybe it is not called cardio only, it might be called step only . I do know there is one without the leg conditioning. It just has the seven cardio cycles without the squats, lunges and all that.

The conditioning parts do keep your heart rate up though.

It is the Step portions only, and it's about 47 min long. The 4th premix is just for the blasts.

I would consider Low Max all cardio. Even the blasts with the squats and lunges are highly cardio. It's one of my favorite workouts! The 5th and 7th sections especially are KILLER.

Thanks but you don't need to sell me LIC, I already have it and it's my absolute favourite Cathe workout! Since my knees aren't too great, I'm actually trying to steer clear of buying any more step workouts, low impact or not, which is why I haven't purchased Low Max yet. But I can't resist - Low Max will definitely be the very last step workout I buy. Hopefully Cathe will put out some non-step high intensity low impact workouts in the future - I get tired of modifying and my modifications never seem to have the same level of intensity (call me uncreative!).

Thanks again everyone for your helpful replies.

The only cardio in KM that are low impact are the kick/punch combos and a couple of the blasts. The kick/punch combos are only about 20 minutes.
