Low Impact Cross Train Extreme

I rarely post suggestions in here, but I did 10-10-10 cardio today and I started thinking about this... Since Cathe has proved that she can do amazing low impact/high intensity workouts, why not do a low impact version of CTX? I would like to see low impact/high intensity cardios with one body part per day, but heavy weight lifting (like PS and GS) and super tough ab workouts. What I would like as opposed to CTX is the length. I think the Xpress of CTX should be changed to Extreme and make the workouts longer (about 70-80 mins long). Of course I would like premixes of all the workouts making them shorter for when I'm short on time so the premixes would make the workout Xpress when someone chooses to do so. :)

This is my suggestion for the year. :7 :+

I like that idea, especially since, though I adore the weight workout in CTX, and I like the format, doing a rotation of it is just too much for my knees to handle (too much step, too much high impact, too much high impact step!). And I try to modify, but it's hard to hold myself back sometimes!

I'd love to see the same body part breakdown as the CTX series, but with low impact cardio (and a variety of modalities rather than so much step), so we can alternate these workouts with CTX workouts if we wish, doing CTX chest one day, for example, and CTXL (Cross Train Express Low!) back the next, or vice versa?

I like this suggestion as well. I want more high intensity/low or lower impact to alternate with higher impact stuff as my body ages.

I like this idea a lot, except the part about making the workouts longer than the current CTX. I like the shorter workouts and, at 51, my knees and hips love lower impact cardio.

I totally agree with the rest about making some more low-impact workouts. That would be so nice. It is what has kept me from trying Step for so long. It would be great if you could do this Cathe!

Thanks!

Another vote for a low impact series.... I'm having some trouble with my knees at the moment and this would be great for me :)

Agreed that that a low-impact version of CTX would be great. I do like the abbreviated length, though. Actually, I think it'd be cool if it were set up somewhat like BBC with 30 min. of weights and 30 min. of cardio per day.

I usually don't post in this forum, but I am all for a low impact CTX with a variety of cardio. :)

I enjoy the high impact type workouts, but I really have to consider the wear and tear on my joints as I age. (I want to keep them healthy as long as possible.) If I feel like doing a higher Impact type workout I could always substitute the original CTX on that day.

I also enjoy the shorter format of the CTX workouts. It makes it much easier to mix and match with other DVDs. Please consider keeping it as is or adding bonus premixes to make it longer for those who prefer a workout longer then 60 minutes.

I vote for this one too but keep each section length within 60 min. It is very difficult to do workout more than one hour as a full time working mom with two young children.

I also would like Cathe to include walking workout in the series for cardio variety.
