Hello! I'm new to this site, and have only been doing Cathe's workouts for about one month. She is AWESOME!! I've been working out for about 10 years now, on & off. NEVER, have I ever been able to get rid of the looseness/saddlebags at the backs and sides of my upper thighs! I also have cellulite in that part of the thigh. The rest of my body tones easily, & shows great definition. I just can't seem to do much about that one area! I've heard opposing answers to this issue before. Some say you can't get rid of cellulite, while others say you can. Can someone PLEASE give me the facts?? If you can get rid of cellulite, I'd LOVE to know how!!! If you can't, please offer me some suggestions that may just diminish the ugliness of it. Thanks very much for your time in reading and responding!!! Donna :0)

Donna,
I think it really depends on how severe/obvious your cellulite is. I have cellulite, but the worst part is at my lower inner thigh. I just started doing Cathe for little over a month and definatley can finally see my legs get that sexy inner curve there, which I never had before. I hope over time that the cellulite there will diminish more, as it definatley has gotten better since I started working out period. But, will it completely go away, I don't think mine will because I have had it so long, since I was 16. But I know working out makes other parts of my legs look great and hope that is what people are looking at, including my oh so now happy butt! So yes you can diminish it. Can you rid of it, probably not unless it is very, very suttle. Am I wrong, maybe, but I have been looking into this for ever. Here is a book I bought that was very helpful to me, it maybe for you as well. It was recommended by Shape Magazine and I found it very insightful, though as it says, not a quick complete fix. This book has very solid health and workout info it is not a gimic and doesn't promise a cellulite free body.

That is the way my body is too. Exactly as you describe. Whether I weigh 140 or 115 (I am 5'8") the little jelly-lump stays. I have been working out for 30 years. Cathe since 1995. I am in incredible shape, but that lump is still there. There is no "exercise" that removes it. It is the last to go spot for fat for our genetic predisposition. All you can do is do challenging fitness activities and lose body fat with clean eating. There may be a limit to what you can get rid of. At least that is my conclusion.

Hi Donna! Welcome and thank you for joining us. I actually was asked a very similar question about this two weeks ago and here is what I said.....

A high pecentage of woman have some form of cellulite on their body. The amount of cellulite one carries and where it decides to settle on the body is strongly influenced by genetics. The less cellulite you have on your body, the better chances you have of ridding yourself of it completely. You can definitely improve (or eliminate if you have little to start with) the area through ample cardio activity, weight training, CLEAN EATING (especially watching your sodium, sugar, and starch intake), and ample water intake. Stay committed, sleep well, and eat a wide and balanced variety of clean nutritious foods. It is not easy to battle cellulite but huge improvements are made if a devoted effort is given.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the book recommendation Juliemom! It looks very interesting! I'm going to keep plugging along and hope for the best. You're right though, hopefully people notice the overall nice tone that Cathe's workouts have given my body and NOT the cellulite!!
