Looking for a reliable scale-bells and whistles not necessary!

Hello! My current scale is driving me crazy! I can step on it 6 different times in a row and it will give me 6 different numbers:eek::confused: So, in order to keep my sanity, I am in search of a new scale that is accurate. Does anyone have a recommendation? I don't need any extra features, just need one that will be consistently accurate. Though if the scale does have a bell or whistle, that's okay too!:D

TIA!!

I'm looking to see replies here too! My scale does the same - each time I step on it, I get a new number. And the differences are HUGE - a few pounds. It's totally worthless!!!!

Find an old-fashioned scale at an antiques store or consignment store. I have one and it's consistent every time!

Years ago my husband went and spent about $100 on an electronic scale that gave me a different reading every time. Ridiculous!

He makes fun of my ugly pink art-deco scale (but the electronic scale went out with the trash a long time ago!)

I am not sure you actually have to go to an antique store to find one (LOL! or maybe you do!), but I agree that you need just an older type scale -- an analog dial scale. I've had one for years and it is never wrong.

I adjusted it to the balance scale at my doctor's office, which means I had to turn the little adjustment wheel to make the needle rest at 3 lbs for the zero. I know every time I get on it, it's going to weigh me the same.

Thanks for the responses everyone!!:D I'm pretty sure I'll be getting an analog scale. I did a little research and found 2 scales that I think will work-one is ananlog and one is not, but the digital is "bare bones" and has great reviews.

Thanks again! :)

I have a "bare bones" digital scale by Health-O-Meter and it works great!

I've had several scales with the same issues you mention. If it varies by 5 lbs up or down, well, what good is it to track anything? I bought a new digital one by Taylor. Got it at costco for maybe $25 and it is excellent. stable, unfancy and consistently reads what the doctor office scale reads.
It has to be on a hard level surface. don't try to use a scale on carpeting. I had some older analog ones that bounced around a lot too, so that may or may not fix your problem.

Like yours, I get HUGE differences too. It's really quite aggrivating.
