Good morning, cheetahs!
Guess no other early birds are around these days to get us goin’…
Judy—I don’t think it’s silly at all to be relieved by the scaling back of gifts. I hear you! I was planning on stopping buying gifts for my goddaughter when she is 18…Yes, I have become prone to insomnia, unfortunately. But I deal with it.
Our conferences were successful, and we have one more day of them today. Sorry your PF is flaring. What a pesky injury that is. My father just found out he has it.
Dallas—I’m sorry to hear there is some health drama in your family. You have already had more than your fair share! (((HUGS))) to you.
Christine—agree with you on the parenthood tests, too. I do a considerable chunk of my shopping online as well. I’m not into crowds. However, the Black Friday bargains are often irresistible. I make a plan and get in and out quickly. Hope you are feeling 100% again ASAP!
Carole—we do seem to go in rounds with our insomnia, don’t we?…I hope you can avoid it… I think I would have a hard time at the garage sale parting with some of the sentimental items.
Linda—thanks…gee, migraine + insomnia? Think somebody’s been a little stress-y? *lol* Actually, it was my DSis’s fault for Tuesday night. She is in Germany and texted me at 1 am! I do understand what you mean about things getting out of control with holiday spending. Wee woo wee woo—that’s the video police comin’ for ya!
Jackie—your night in with DBF sounded relaxing and cozy… I feel for folks like your sis. Know I could have it much worse. Hope the Ann near me doesn’t close. Ann and Loft are my go-to spots for my professional wardrobe! How do the calves feel?
Posh—oh that dreaded “Clean Max” DVD.
I’d forgotten you were doing a turkey day trot. Awesome! Met with Lil Aiight’s mom yesterday. She aiight.
Gave us permission to whap ‘im upside the head if he’s being a goofball. *ha ha* YES! The books did arrive. I’m so excited to share them with the kids on Monday when we do what’s called a “book pass.” (The kids sit in a circle with a book in front of them. They check out the front and back cover and then start reading it for 5 minutes. When the timer goes off after 5 minutes, they give the book a rating based upon their interest level.) It’s a great activity that usually generates a lot of interest in books they might not have picked up on their own. You are absolutely right about early literacy and the difference it makes in a child’s overall academic success. What a wonderful thing you did for your kids. Wish all parents would make that investment and read to their kids.
Gloria—glad you made it home safely driving in those conditions. Scary! Woo-hoo on having report cards behind us!
I opted for 4DS KB (fun!) followed by 10 min. on the EXT—simpler than the original thought ‘cuz the lack of zzz’s sure did catch up with me by the end of the day. I’m happy to say it was an insomnia-free night.
Have a great day!
