Cathlete
Everyday, i read about someone accomplishing something new around here and i was thinking today (after i almost had a butterfinger breakdown, BUT didn't!) about all the changes i have made since i started hanging out here and doing Cathe workouts. It's pretty remarkable! List yours too please! it's VERY motivating:7

*lost 20 LBS and 11 1/2 inches
*cut out sugar
*started eating clean(once i learned what that was:+ )
*devoted a room in my house to working out and painted it:p (that counts IMHO)
*quit smoking(three weeks and 1 day so far!)
*increased water intake and quit sodas
*learned to eat Brown stuff and whole wheat(THAT was hard!)
*finally graduated from a step with no height to using risers:7
*i can see my abs sort of
*due to increased cardio capacity, i JOGGED!!!
*i made a lot of life-long friends who i talk to everyday and genuinely adore and i never get sick of them!

Jes - what an awesome thread!! And congrats on your most excellent accomplishments!

* Lost -0- pounds :( BUT! I have gained lots of muscle :) AND! I'm certain that I'll eventually get rid of my excess baggage....see below.
* Eliminated sugar, white flour, pasta, basically all refined carbs
* Started monitoring macronutrients and added lots of protein (yay whey!)
* Enjoy working out now more than ever - love to hate the burn!
* Feel confident that I can accomplish whatever level of fitness I desire
* Started eating MORE to "fix" my metabolism
* Thanks to Wutherhi (Shari) I learned about insulin resistance, which is very likely what is preventing me from losing weight in spite of hours of Cathe and extra-clean eating. We'll see after next week's glucose test!
* Work out now as much for the side-benefits as for the weight loss.
* Get far less accomplished at work now more than ever - but my Cathe posts are slowly increasing }(
* Am inspired every day by the stories here and am very happy to have found like-minded people and a very supportive environment.

Thanks to all the "regulars" on these boards and the "educated crowd" -- I've never come across such a cool bunch of people with so much integrity, humor, intelligence, and compassion.

Here's my list of accomplishments:

* Lost 40 pounds on the scale; no idea how much body fat was lost
* Increased cardio capacity
* Significant increase in muscle gain
* Higher self-esteem
* Understanding how to eat clean
* Understanding how to do a good workout rotation (I was working the same body part daily instead of giving them a break)
* Most importantly, making new friends on this board! :)

Jes, that is AMAZING! Can't wait to see you next month.:)

As for me, I realized I need a new scale. Because the thing is stuck between 105-107 lbs. every time I'm on it. I went to my doctor recently and got on her scale. It registered a whopping 111 lbs.!

When I started, I was 98 lbs. with 20% body fat. (This 98 lbs., according to the nurse, was probably inaccurate because I had on jeans and shoes. She said without my clothes, she could've taken out another couple pounds -- imagine that, but 98 is what I opted to start with.) I had 78.4 lbs. of lean mass. Currently I'm 111 lbs. with 17% body fat, which gives me 92.13 lbs. of lean mass. That's a 13.73-lb. increase in lean mass. It only took me two years -- a long time.

I have other accomplishments -- the push-ups, pikes, planks, the strong core, the cardio capacity, the flexibility from yoga, a lot of know-how about my body and the nutrition and exercise it needs -- but I'm still reeling from this weight increase. The last time I was 111 lbs. was 3 months post-pregnancy, and I couldn't even get my butt into size 8 pants.

Oh neat! Here's mine:

*lost 15 pounts
*I took up running recently, and ran a 10 mile race in 1 hr and 50 minutes a couple weeks ago. Also, I just started training for the Chicago Marthon! I'm running it on October 9th this year! (Something I thought I would NEVER do in a million years)
*Increased my running pace by 2 minutes per mile
*Learned how to eat clean but still have my treats every now and then
*Went down 2 pant sizes! I fit into size 4 clothes at Ann Taylor the other day!
*Made a lot of friends here
*Feel a lot better about myself

:7

This is a great thread. Way to go everybody!
I just started doing Cathe seriously within the last few weeks.
I can already see some definition in almost all my muscles.
Just doing the workouts and knowing I'm doing something good for myself has boosted my self esteem so much.
I feel more confident and energetic and all around happier.
I feel like I can come in here anytime and have support which has made a major difference in my attitude toward fitness. I have always worked out but would get discouraged when I wouldn't see results, and end up gaining weight.
So "for me" even though it's only been a few short weeks of Cathe, I feel I've accomplished a lot. And I'm grateful to Cathe and all you guys who share in here.

Kali:)

Jes,

Congratulations on quitting smoking! I know how difficult it can be at first and I encourage you to keep it up. My wonderful 47 year old brother, a smoker, is now battling lung cancer that has metastasized to his brain. There is a palpable sadness in my family and regrets that can't be rectified, all because of cigarettes. You are benefitting your body in so many healthy ways!
