Lib, those tabata are hard! If you can keep on doing one every so often, you'll see your cardio capacity skyrocket.
You asked about supercuts- it's the metabolic workout from XTrain. And it's great fun. No dread. Keeps on moving.
Tom, I've never played around with grip width. Well no more than altering it an inch or two. I'm going to try that out. Anyway, well done on the chest day-perhaps you just needed a day off? Your dw's knee replacement - I'm assuming the first one went well, and that this one should go smoothly? I hope so. My dh is having knee surgery in a few weeks. He's torn his cruciate ligament for the 3rd time! He's having keyhole, but it's the last time they'll do a mend. Next time it's replacement.
Anyway...final month of HTS, and I'm worried. Today the supersets (4 X each) were:
Bird dog neuro pulse (weird) + heavy deadlift (3 reps)
Side plank rotations (8) + skater squats(8)
Incline DB chest press (15) + bear squats (30)
Preacher curls (15) + skull crushers (12)
All this was after a warmup which included shoulder tap push ups and 100(!) KB swings.
It took an hour and 50, but much of that was watching clips to see exactly what a bird dog neuro pulse was. Also, set up takes a while when it's a new routine.
I also did a ROMWOD (
https://romwod.com/) only 20 mins. It felt good, but it was nothing earth shattering. I think Sunday's tend to be easy.
Roz- I'm going to try a run through the physique templates before I commit to the exercises. I thought I could just do 1 light set of each workout as my deload from HTS. I'll be paying very close attention to your exercise selection advice! I like that they purposely get you to overreach before deload. I'm hearing great things about it!
My cut, however, is not the most impressive! The scale has barely moved- although I think I look more cut. I'm going to give it a couple more days, and if there's no change, I'll move down a tab (gulp). I'm currently on the cut 1 tab. A lot of this could be water- I could barely squeeze my quads into my jeans yesterday- they felt very 'full'. Oh well, I can only see what happens. A little self-experimenting!
And to those that said well done on my front squat.... I should confess that it made me pee a little! Good job I work out at home. TMI, I know, but I thought it was funny. The unglamorous side of lifting......
Hope the weekend has treated you all well xx
