Lifting like girls

Hi everyone,
You're all amazing. Great workouts. You all win. :)
OK, I'm going to talk about me for a sec... I hit some kind of wall with my cut. All of a sudden I'm constantly craving and hangry. Last night I fell off the wagon into a vat of peanut butter. I also have no energy. Seriously, all of a sudden.
I don't feel like I fail at life, but I kinda feel like this is a sign to wrap up the cut... I feel plenty lean for my life. I was gonna do another week but... who cares, right? And I can always do another short cut this summer if I feel so inclined. Any words of wisdom?

Yesterday I did deads (clearly it was deadlift day in commando land), 220x6x5. I think the last set I hit 7-8 reps, actually. Then good mornings, step ups, chins, and planks. This morning was OHP (65x6x5, last set was actually 7-8 as well) + a BB triset.

Must run... but... yeah. You're all awesome.
Lisa, is LIC 'Challenge' or 'Circuit? (A girl's gotta know...). Thanks for the Live rec, too!
Roz

Roz, LIC = Circuit from the sash series. Having zero energy is no bueno for life as a busy mom, or quality of life in general. I'm channeling my inner Nia and advising you to "screw perfection" and seek the sustainable. Besides, maybe taking one week hiatus from the cut is all you need, and then you could return and finish? Or just stop for now, till the next go round.

Good Morning Warriors! Roz, I agree with the other commandos, probably your vessel telling you something! It's really tough to go hard without feeding the machine!! Today I did shoulders, and I expected very little. I warmed up with very short sets because I wasn't really feeling it. I did 105 x1 and decided to "load the bar" I added 20# and it went up surprisingly easily! With my new found confidence I added 5# and went to 130...NOWHERE! The mind is a terrible thing to waste! Judging from 125, it should have gone, but didn't leave my chest! I did some sets on the way down, 115x2 105x5x3 100x5x4x3. I then did side laterals 3x10 with 25s, rear delt flys, 3x10 45s, shrugs, 255x20, and dumbbell shoulder press 45s x15. I had really been stuck on strict press for quite a while and it felt good to advance..nice to win one once in awhile!! Have a great Wed Commandos!!

Back and biceps done......which finishes up mesocycle two!! My spring break starts tomorrow at 330 pm!
Honestly, had to force myself to workout today, and having to force myself to go to school today and tomorrow. Canceled all appointments, I am walking dead. I need this week off.

Shutting off all devices for the next several days.

Enjoy your week and be well!

Tom, if those shoulder presses won't go up, they just won't, right? You can't grind em out like deadlifts (at least how I do deadlifts....) I wouldn't be able to do 1 side lateral with the weight you use!

Lib, where did the time go? I can't believe you're through meso 2. Better start planning what you're going to do after you finish STS! enjoy your time off xxx

Today I did the 3rd workout of HTS month 4 (I do 4 per week). About 70 mins, and the only workout in this phase which doesn't contain BOTH deads and squats.
Supersets of:
Med ball roll out push ups and Swiss ball hamstring curls
Alternating bent over rows (30! Each side) and KB halos
Bench press (3 reps) and plank band pulls
THEN 100 KB swings (24kg)

My bench was a pathetic 45kg, but I was happy with depth. I've done over 50kg for 5 reps before, so I better get my act together.

I'm very hungry on this darn diet. I think it maybe because I'm having more carbs and less fat than I'm used to, and more, smaller meals. I never seem to feel properly full. Hopefully I'll get used to it.

Roz, hope you ate a ton today!

Xx Karen and Lisa

Tom, way to go in upping the weights! You win some, you lose some, but when you win some it feels dang good, yes???

Lib, Spring Break starts at 3:30pm tomorrow, but who's counting down the hours, huh? Not you, ha! A huge congrats on conquering Meso 2. That is a major achievement. Enjoy your rest break and your technology break.

Justine, I think 45kg is great, but perhaps lower because you are so hangry? The whole mini-meal thing just does not cut it for me. I do much better with bigger meals, not that I don't nibble in between, but grazing all day long leaves me feeling like I'm never satisfied.

Roz, you rock! That is all. :)

Karen, hey!

I tricked myself into doing legs today. I walked into my workout room planning to do something else entirely, then on a whim grabbed my phone and connected to Cathe Live for Legs & Glutes Live (8/20/15). I used to love doing heavy (for me) leg training, like squat rack legs was my leg workout of choice for Meso 3, but now I just love the 'toning' stuff so much more. A phase, maybe?

Great day to you all.

Hi, friends!
First of all, thank you all for your support! I am feeling soooo much better today. :) I think my feeling really off was a combination of factors, not just diet. I had an 'aha' moment this morning when I realized I'd just started a new bedtime supplement from my naturopath to help with sleep (it's just some herbs, nothing hardcore), but I think it was making me feel a little woozy even during the daytime and I was looking for food as a way to ground. If that makes sense. Well, I ate the food and it helped! :) I don't have a 'plan' for the next week... I'm just really trying to learn what works for me and what doesn't. I've actually found a lot that I love and will keep in my daily/weekly habits from RP, even when I'm not 'doing' one of their programs. I may keep running the 'base' (maintenance) diet when I get home from vacation (with cheats, etc., of course), if I feel like it, just because I'm enjoying this way of eating (esp with the extra fats on base).
Lisa, I totally agree with Nia's philosophy about finding something sustainable. Also love Jill Coleman's kinda similar philosophy. I think I had basically come to the end of an intentionally unsustainable phase... so thanks for the important reminders! :)
Justine, that video totally cracked me up! :D Is that 'reality' TV? In any case, I know the feeling! I don't know how people cut really deep into calories... I would be crying multiple times a day. I hope you feel better soon, or tinker with things/combine meals so that you get to feel full. And thank you!!
I'm really happy with the definition I'm seeing, but I actually feel a little small... definitely planning on massing and cutting again! :) Not sure I'll be up to mass in tank top weather, but we'll see...
Tom, great work! I agree with Justine, shoulders poop out real fast, no grinders possible for me...
Lib, you take your break! I prescribe some inactive recovery for you. ;) Congrats on Meso 2 and Spring Break.
Karen, hi!
Oh, today was a well-deserved total rest day. :)
Roz

Today was squats, 192.5# for 3x5 and 1x7. YAY!
Then RDLs 200# for 3x10 and walking lunges 2x33.5# for 3x16 steps and RKC planks 3x45 sec.
Quick and tough. Squats are by far the most intimidating lift for me, but I'm feeling really good about how they're progressing.
High fives all around!
Roz
