life expectancy of a sneaker

What is the average time you give a sneaker before buying a new pair. I know this plays an important part in our training & there are alot of factors invloved but what's an average?
I usually have at least 2 pairs that I switch up between. 6 days a week WO's, 3 of which are cardio.

I start to feel it in my knees after about 6 months.

I have a confession.... When I am lifting for UB, I don't always wear shoes

For my running shoes, I replace them after 300 miles. For my (horseback) riding shoes, I replace those after 500 miles in the saddle. Aerobics I extrapolate time in the shoe instead of mileage. I replace my aerobics shoes after 150 hours in the shoe. I use my aerobics shoes for weight lifting, too. Then I rotate the shoes into my out and about shoes or donate them as they still look good and should be good for casual use for a long time yet.

I use a program to keep track of the mileage and time on each set of shoes, so I know when to get a new pair.

Sometimes I do abs in my PJs & slippers. :D

I don't think I could figure out my average life expectancy--I have sneaks for home & sneaks for the gym, I'm always switching (b/c of course my sneak color must match my w/o outfit ;)).

I guess I buy maybe 3-4 pairs a year.

Whenever I recognize that I'm feeling old, I get new shoes. (Because when I feel "old" it's because my joints ache.)

My podiatrist said that if you're doing high impact aerobics, replace the shoes every 3-4 months. And my feet start to feel it around that time too, getting more achy after workouts.

My aerobic's certification says you should change them about every three months. I personally don't because well that's just too darn expensive, but I do buy the athletic inserts. You should also consider how often you use them.

It would be tough for me to replace after any number of months because I have several pairs. Like Laura, my shoes have to match my outfit:p. I buy new ones as a pair (color) strikes me. I am currently on the prowl for a green pair...

I use my old sneakers for yard work. Don't want my nice new ones getting dirty with grass stains:eek:.
