Lets talk Teas

I found a new tea I LOVE! It's a white tea called Silver needle. It's supposed to be highest antioxidant tea you can get over all the greens and whites so of course it costs more. I'm sure next week there will be another tea that outbeats this in antioxidants. It is so delicious though. I highly recommend it.

What's your favorite tea right now?

I still like (brand name slips my mind!) "Zen" tea: green tea flavored with mint (tastes like spearmint) and lemon.

I picked up some new stuff called "Tulsi tea," which is supposed to be high in antioxidants as well.

I used to drink an herbal tea flavored with chocolate (and variations like chocolate mint), but can't find it anymore.:(

Always has and always will be, Irish Breakfast, loose tea from my co-op. No Celestial Seasoning yuck for me.

Beavs I agree no Celestials tea for me either--tho I like English Breakfast. I also like chai that I make myself. It's funny--coffee makes me nauseous but I love black tea. I am actually addicted to black tea and it has to be loose--no teabags!

You're thinking of Tazo Zen tea - yum!! Makes good iced tea, too. I love all of the kinds of Tazo tea I've tried. I also like a lot of the Republic of Tea stuff.

I go back an forth between coffee and tea. When it starts to get really cold, I love some tea in the afternoon. Have any of you ever seen the catalog for The Republic of Tea? They are totally cool with all different kinds of teas....white tea, red tea, green tea, black tea. Flavored, decaf, leaves, bags (which are unbleached) I just received one of their catalogs with a new sample of a red tea...pomegranate vanilla (good antioxidants) It was actually very yummy and I'm going to get some. You can also get Republic of Tea teas at places like the Cost Plus World Market.

The catalog also has nifty teapots, tea cups and other accessories. In fact, I'm eyeing their new glass electric tea pot. But it is a little pricey. I might just buy a cheapy from Wally world for my office. I have one of those instant cup water things (how's that for a description...lol) but it takes forever to fill my ceramic tea pot if my office staff wants a pot of tea. Ooh, I've written a novel..sorry!:p

I love tea! I order from adagio teas. My favorite is rooibos (red tea). I love all the varieties but the tropical blend (rooibos, coconut and pineapple) is my favorite. They also have a Zodiac series. I love the blend for Leo - rooibos orange, vanilla oolong and chamomile.

I often mixed rooibos with green and black teas.

I had to pop in here – I’ve actually been introduced to Japanese matcha. I have the green and white – and they’re delicious!! You have to have a tea bowl and whisk to make it, and it’s a little frothy. But here’s an excerpt from www.muzitea.com (where I got mine) that describes the health benefits. Anyone ever had it?

raises energy.
elevates mood.
calms nerves.
70x the antioxidants of orange juice
and 9x the beta-carotene of spinach.

I like the Celestial Teas, lately it has been the speciality teas for cold, sore throat, etc. I enjoy drinking Red Tea. Most of the time, I have unsweetened regular iced tea (a sin in the south-but I do drink sweet tea when I am out).

I just looked at the muzi tea website and it looks fabulous. Tea in a powdweed form? The whole story about how this was created is interesting. I will be ordering some.

Most teas make me sick to my tummy - yet coffee doesn't. Anyone know why that is?

I would like to know why this is also. I can't drink tea in the morning or I get totally nauseated :(. I would really like to cut back on my morning coffee and switch to something healthier like green tea.

Have you tried Celestial Seasonings Cinnamon Apple Spice? OMG I love it!
I have 2 cups everyday.
The other 2 kinds of the Celestial Teas I tried: 1st was Perfectly Pear White Tea which was just ok, and 2nd the True Blueberry-yuck. Didn't care for that one at all!

My 3rd try was Cinnamon apple spice-It's da bomb IMHO.

My two favorite tea places are:
www.teavana.com
www.harney.com

I love the Florence tea from Harney & Sons and I think it's fun to try all of the Teavana teas! Their choco-nut green tea always makes me nauseous unless I eat something at the same time I drink it. Other ones also make me jittery unless I've eaten recently.

Have fun!

I wanted to renew this thread--

IVE HAD THE MATCHA BREKGIRL!!

Its fabulous! Well.. it takes a couple sits to really get it.. but I love it!

Absolutely pure (unless you ge tit in like Latte form or something from Starbucks :) .. and most importantly (for me) NO SUGAR!

I stopped having my *beloved* Mocha Blancas from my local coffee shop over a month ago as I think im real sugar sensitive <:'(

I add a little Agave Nectar to its and its delightful :)

ITA Pebblesus! Plus I just love to whisk it. And I have the coolest little bowl to whisk it in... Have you had the white? mmmmmmm so good! Yes, it does take a few to get used to it, but it's SO good for you and makes me happy! :D

Thanks for popping back in to let me know!

I haven't tried any flavours yet.. I actually just skimmed through the website you linked!
How may g's did you buy and how do you prepare it? It basically says 1/2 ts per 2 oz of water.. how many ts do you use for how much water?

The one a the coffee shop had milk in it, which I would probably add myself.. but I have no idea how much to get out of the 30g packages they have for sale and it's a little $$ so Id like to get an idea? :)
