Good am all,
Up at 5 again today (boy am I surprised at myself!)...and did Meso 1 Disk 1 Chest, shoulders, & Bi's. Tonight I'll go for a run, but now it's off to the shower.... I tell you I hate getting up so early, but I'm so glad once I've gotten my "me" time in. I don't have to think about it all day and boy does that feel great.
I'm going to do Insanity tommorow am, and that has me a bit worried...have a great day all
Elena

One more thing

hey ladies,
can you tell me what your thoughts are about eating before and after your workouts? I currenly eat like this
5:00am: 2 slices Ezekel bread w/peanut butter
6:20am: 1 protein shake
7:15am: Oatmeal/berries

My question is this...I was told that I should eat a 1/2 a baked potato after my workouts. I've tried a few times and it seems like to much food....also I want to slim down my lower body, I'm not heavy...but I want to lose a few pounds (who doesn't!).....what are everyones thoughts on this?
Thanks
Elena

I ansered your inquiery in your open discussion post but i think what your doing is perfectly fine. i think people get too caught up and make eating more complicated the what it should be. Your choices are great and as long as you feel good doing it then keep with it.

Good Morning,

Elena, Great job with the morning workout! What I do is add an extra few minutes to do my own pre warm-up. Usually about 5 minutes on the treadmill works for me. It DOES make a difference.

I'm still struggling with the right balance of calories after years and years of not eating enough, so I'm not the person to ask. :(

Today was Pure Cardio. My sinuses were bothering me so I needed extra time to try and clear them so I'll have to do Cardio Abs later.

This was not a strong day for me, but I pushed through and feel good now. :)

Off to the showers and work! Have a great workout everyone.

Hey Dawn,
Hope your feeling better and yes I'm going to try making sure that I'm really awake before I take on Shaun tommoorw....I'm going to try and do one of the 1 hour month 2 videios....I'll check back in the am and thanks for the advice.

today was a jari love dvd (slim and lean) and 30 minutes on the elliptical. I really couldn't get into the ripped workout but i did it to give my shoulder a break as its still achy today. I think i'm going to pull out CLX since i haven't done that in a while. Mabe next week. Tomorrow will be the sports conditioning insanity workout.

Good morning fellow inmates! How was your workout today?

Today was Day 2 for me: Plyo Cardio Circuits, for the first time. I hadn't even previewed it, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I've read repeatedly that the warm up is a workout in itself, so I did my own pre-warm up. I workout at 6am, and am quite stiff in the hips, hamstrings, and lower back first thing in the morning. I did a 22 min easy vinyasa yoga dvd to get myself moving. Then I plugged in Plyo Cardio Circuit.

The warm up started off the same as the Fit Test, so I thought I was doing well, until he took us through it 2 more times, going faster each time! LOL! My heart rate was up there and I was sweating buckets by the end of the mins, or whatever it was. Loved the stretch. I know people are complaining about how long the initial stretch is, but I love it. I love getting my hips ready for the range of motion needed to do deep plyo movements.

The first circuit was okay. I worked hard, but it was doable. I can't get my 3rd level speed up as high as Shaun, but I'm okay with that. My heartrate was up near 95%, and I was feeling good. Not sucking wind too bad.

The second circuit kicked...my....butt! My chest is *still* sore from STS Disc 13 on Sunday, so the push ups were brutal. For some of the reps I just held a plank, or I did 2/2 ct push ups. Round 1 of Circuit 2 was manageable. Round 2 required some breaks! Round 3 was solely about doing my best, and forgetting the rest! I also wasn't sure if we had a Circuit 3 in this workout or not. Thank heavens we didn't!

I'm good with all the moves done vertically. It's the horizontal stuff that requires work. I suppose having a sore chest and tired shoulders didn't help. But I did it! And I look forward to seeing how much I'll progress over the next 60 days!

My heart rate maxed out at 173bpm (95%), with 79% (144bpm) being the average. Calories burned were approximately 489. Not bad for 42 mins of exercise.

After PCC, I did triceps from STS Disc 13.

I feel good now. I know I can handle these workouts. They're providing me with the challenge I need to move to the next level of fitness. That's a good thing. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's workout!

Cheers!
Sandra

Great workouts ladies!! High fives to you early morning insanitinas. Today I did the cardio recovery workout (the 2nd month dvd) and P90X chest and back. It is a great combination for me since I feel like I am not getting enough upper body work doing the insanity rotation.
I am able to get back into my "skinny size" pants after the first 2 weeks of insanity, so I am a very happy lady these days. These workouts are really leaning out my thighs and defining my abs.

Happy exercising!!
Brenda

Sanda, I love hearing everyone's 'virgin' run on the workouts. Sounds like you did great. You reminded me why I'm keeping my extra upper body weight work to a minimum and doing no extra chest work at all. :)

Brenda, Woohoo! Skinny jeans! (okay I know you said pants;))

No INSANITY today. 5.75 mile run and wow! was it hot!?!?!? Got in some swimming as well. Definitely won't be any triathlons in MY future! LOL!
Have a good one everybody! I hope to have time to catch up later!
Becky

Brenda:
I am so happy to hear about your Skinny Jeans!!!! Ok I'm adding more Insanity...I need thinner theighs!!

Hi All!!

Just wanted to do a quick check-in to say I'm baaaackkk :p I skimmed through the previous days' posts and I'm so glad that everyone is doing so well - wtg :D

I'm proud to say that I kept up with Insanity while out of town (really was not sure I was going to pull that off). I took my rest day on Saturday and did PC & CA on Sunday. Monday's FT was as follows:

Switch kicks: 47 (old 42)
Power jacks: 47 (old 44)
Power knees: 76 (old 72)
Power jumps: 37 (old 31)
Globe jumps: 9 (old 6)
Suicide jumps: 18 (old 16)
Push-up jacks: 23 (old 20)
Low plank oblique: 67 (old 65)

* I will admit this FT was done at the end of a day at Aquatica Water Park and I had a pina colada in me  which I'm sure is not in the nutrition guide - not that I'm following it. I really just had my original #s in my head and was happy if I met them or just a few over, which is exactly what I did.

Did PCC this afternoon. Since I'm typically a morning exerciser, the afternoon workouts were a nice change and I can really kick butt in them. I just stick with my morning workouts because I can be consistent with them. Anyway, still have some stuff to do to get ready for the short work week - back to the grind ;)
