Let's Do This Again STSept-Dec! *Nov 16-Nov 22*

Happy Saturday Warriors!:)

I have emerged from my mountain of work and get to have 9 days out of the office in a row! woohoo! :D I had to forego starting meso 3 until today because of the extra long hours at work to get enough done to take the whole break, but I will start it later today. Slept in a whole hour and half longer than usual (even when I want to sleep in my body just wont) and got up and played tennis.

Looks like everyone is doing well and keeping up with their workouts. Very impressive :)

Okay, here is my thoughts on the GWF, I will try not to ramble on too much ;) I have had mine since April and it has been one of my best purchases for my health. I had alot of weight to lose and needed to see exactly what was going on with my body so I could solve the issue once and for all. I learned that I burn way more calories then I thought during the day and especially on days that I do one or two workouts, simply I was not eating enough for my body to let go of the weight. The daily steps goals, calories burned and activity time goals become quite obsessive to reach everyday and seeing the charts and graphs, at least for a geek like me, do help motivate. Perhaps the most interesting thing has been being able to track my sleep. My sleep efficiency was terrible, the time lying down compared to actually sleeping and how many times I wake up during the night was quite eye opening. I am definitely better now that I have been able to see my sleep trends and start to figure out what hours are best for me to be in bed by and when I naturally want to be up in the morning. I also know figuring out the sleep issue has helped with the weight loss and my mental health. What I do know is that I am now 60lbs lighter and getting closer to being done with the weight everyday and the GWF was a big part of helping get here.

As for using it for maintenance, it really depends on what the knowledge will do for you. If goals and targets are your thing, then the device will be invaluable to keeping you on track with whatever you are trying to achieve healthwise. It can also be used in muscle gaining mode where it helps set goals and track your daily expenditures to make sure you have enough extra calories, but not extreme. Honestly, I dont know if I will be wearing it all day, everyday like I do now once I finish getting to where I want to be weight wise, but I will definitely continue to use it for different workout goals, like a round of STS & Shock Cardio, and for weeks at time to check in with how my body is still doing. Knowing whats going on has become a habit of everyday now, so we will see what I end up doing long term.

I dont know if my experience helps or not with your decision Janis, it really is an individual thing. If you are pretty in tune with your body and know what works and what doesnt for you, then maybe it wont really make much of a difference. If you dont really feel confident in your knowledge or perhaps you are just really curious, then its great to help learn. Anyway, enough rambling....;)

Off to figure out what to do with my Saturday afternoon before working out again tonight.

Talk to you later. Enjoy your Saturday. :cool:

Hi All!

It sounds like you all have had a full week of lots of exercise! I finished up Meso 1!!! Yay!
After Monday, I wasn't able to get any cardio in though. Had another really busy week at work. But I'm so excited to start Meso 2 soon.

Heather, I'm going to jump right into Meso 2. I know that's not the way we're suppose to do it, but I ended up taking 2 rest days this week (d/t work busyness) and I am resting today fully and tomorrow I will do just cardio. Also, if I start Meso 2 tomorrow, my rest week will fall on Christmas week. That's important as I will be going on a holiday trip & won't be able to do STS that week.
So, we'll see how it goes!

Janis, I say keep the GoFit. But I don't know too much about it really. I'm just one to keep any piece of equipment that could potentially help with wt loss or in your case, maintaining your wt. :) I admit I have not done any yoga! I enjoy yoga moves added in some other type of workout, but I rarely do straight yoga. Mostly because I need the cardio & weights more right now (as I need to get some poundage off). Once I reach my goal wt, I'll probably incorporate some yoga in.

I'm all for re-doing STS w/ Shock cardio beginning in January. I'd probably just start over with you all rather than do Meso 3 as it will be due for me to start in late Dec/early Jan.
I can go either way with doing STS in order or undulating. I'll jump on board whatever everyone else decides!

Cathy, I too am not sure I will use all the Shock Cardio workouts at first. I definitely want to start the HiiT first, then the Step and Circuit routines. I think I may hold off on the MMA ones for awhile. But I'm so eager get to them! I think I check the blog daily for an estimated shipping update! I'm glad to hear that they may be shipped in time for Christmas. That would be the perfect present!

MJ--Enjoy your time off! And good luck starting up Meso 3.

Have a great weekend!

Tara

Hi to all Warrior Women!
(I just love how we resonate with being warriors!)

As I wind down with Meso 3 (upper body) and plug away at M2 and soon M3 legs, I seem to be spinning my wheels on what's next! Much like I have been spinning my wheels about the GoWear Fit decision. (lol!)

Thank you so much for your thoughtful summary, MJ, it was very useful. The GoWear Fit would have been very useful to me at the beginning of my own weight loss journey (I only had about 10-12 pounds to lose, it came off very slowly, less than 2# per month) and it would have been handy while I was sitting around rehabing my ankle. It certainly would have minimized the lethargy weight gain or in other words the 4 pounds I have added back on. It just sort of creeps on, doesn't it!

I had pretty much decided to return the device the other day, but it is still sitting on my husbands desk, so I just may un-do my decision. {laughing very loud and hard here.}

Accountability is a good thing, I have been dodging it recently and it seems the GWF will enforce/encourage staying on track, that alone make it worth while. {nodding my head in agreement with myself and with everything all of you have contributed}

Thank you, everyone, for sharing your thoughts and helping me come to a decision. {I'm wandering down to his office once I post this.}

Heather - good god, I need to improve my reading comprehension! I think this is the second time I misread one of your posts. :eek:

Have any of you beautiful warriors used any of the Beach Body programs like Insanity or P90x? What are your thoughts or experiences with/about the programs?

ETA: Congrats, MJ on getting through your intense work week and gaining 9 days off! Excellent reward for hard work. And Tara, high fives for making it through Meso 1. For some reason, in retrospect, Meso 1 seemed harder than Meso 3, but then again, I LOVE lifting slow and heavy.
