Has anybody here tried the Firm's Body Sculpt video led by Jen Carmen? It came in the new Firm kit with 2 other videos plus the tall box. Would you classify it as endurance or strength building? Thanks.

Lisa:
I think it is more of a strength building video than endurance. I don't think it has much for endurance.

I'd call it an endurance video for lower body, but you can use it for strength for upper body. For the lower body, there are fairly high numbers of repetitions without breaks in between. It's hard to go heavy because you move right from one thing to the next. (For example: 16 leg presses followed by a long set of squats followed by 16 more leg presses on the same side followed by a set of side lunges on the same side.)

For the upper body, there are far fewer reps for each part, so it's easier to go heavy.

By the way, I love this video. It's not the traditional Firm style at all, but it keeps moving.

For me, it works more as an endurance workout. It moves quickly and I found that I didn't (read: couldn't) use as heavy weights as I would with videos that I consider strength builders like Cathe's PS and S&H. But of course you will get some strength building benefits too, especially if you haven't lifted weights much before. That said, I still found it surprisingly tough, though I was doing it during a heat wave and everything seemed hard!

I really like this video as well. It's my favorite of the new batch. It's no nonsense and doesn't waste your time. Every minute is used to the maximum extent. I agree that it's an endurance workout for the lower body and more strength for the upper body.
I think this video delivers in a very short amount of time. No abs tho, but I usually prefer Cathe for abs anyway.
