Thank you SO much, ladies, for supporting me throught this difficult and seemingly hopeless early pregnancy of an older woman (35). Last night I had SEVERE cramping, and began passing very large blood clots and losing a lot of blood/water. It is a miscarriage. I'm pretty upset about it, but I can't say I'm terrifically surprised after all the ups and downs. I had a bad night of cramping/bleeding. Called the doctor, and they said that I probably don't need a D & C because it's so early. I have to say this was particularly emotionally difficult since I had just SEEN the baby YESTERDAY. Jeez. They now want to do genetic testing on me and my husband. Has anyone gone through this? What can I expect? It's so frustrating. I don't have much of a problem GETTING pregnant, but I just can't STAY pregnant. :( :( :( Good luck to all the ladies on here who are pregnant, my prayers will be with you.

I am so sorry. Please feel free to post anytime you need to vent and let us know what happens with the testing

I'm so, so sorry. I can't even imagine what you are going through.

I don't know anything about genetic testing, but I hope that they can find something that works for you so that you can have a healthy pregnancy.

Please take care of yourself and allow yourself to grieve.

Thinking of you,

Erica

I'm really sorry too. I can't imagine the pain you're going through. DH & I did go through genetic counseling. Basically they just did a verbal interview about genetic disorders of mine or DH's family. Very basic.

I am very sorry. I have a friend who had the same thing happen. 3 miscarriages, all at 5-7 weeks, and as you stated, could get pregnant easily, but just couldn't stay pregnant. She then had genetic counseling. There wasn't anything wrong genetically. The doctors ran every test imaginable. Her doctor finally recommended mega doses of folic acid early in the pregnancy and tons of aspirin as well to prevent clotting. She's now 20 weeks pregnant with a very healthy baby. I wish you the best of luck.

I am so sorry for your loss and all of the worry and ups and downs you have been experiencing. I wish you and your family comfort and peace.

I'm SSSOOO sorry. I hope you can get some answers from the doctor. HHUUUGGGGSSSS - hang out here any time :)

That's interesting

Thank you for that info. That's very interesting about the folic acid and aspirin. I will mention that to the doctor when I talk to them next. I really hope it could be something that "simple". Thank you so much.

Thanks, everyone.

Hi. Thanks so much to everyone for your thoughts. Very few people IRL knew about this pregnancy, so it really helped me to be able to vent my fears and occasional happiness here. I really hope I'm back again on this part of the Cathe Forums someday with happier news. Right now I'm going to try to get back to normal physically (still having lots of bleeding and some cramping) and mentally. Love, Sarah

RE: Thanks, everyone.

Please take care, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Please keep us posted and if please know you can count on us for support.

Hello everyone,

myself had a misscarriage last week. its was painful. i have a questions. can anyone tell me how long should i wait to start exercising? i feel pretty good. its crazy i was 9 week and i was bearly exercising because i was feeling a little strange.
i want to start working out again, because i would like to try it again next summer.

any suggestions.

thank you,
eli

I'm so sorry!

Hi Eli,

I'm sorry you have gone through this too. It is painful, isn't it? All the emotions, bleeding and cramping - wearing a pad - it's all just miserable. I'd like to start back too, but don't want to until this bleeding is mostly done. If you feel good and your bleeding has stopped, I would start back to an exercise program. I don't think there is a physiological reason you would need to hold back. I guess call your doctor or mid-wife if you are in doubt. Good luck, and my thoughts will be with you. - Sarah
