Ohmigosh! I almost missed this thread and boy would I have been sorry! Debbie, NOW who's the stinker, sweetie pie?????

Thanks so much, everybody! We had a really fabulous evening, thanks to my DH. Twenty years ago we got married at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead in Atlanta, and DH surprised me last night with dinner at their main dining room (VERY hotsy-totsy, and not at all our usual anniversary Italian & A Movie kind of an evening!) Some friends of ours sent champagne to our table, and when we got ready to leave the maitre d' had a little package for us from the Chef -- autographed and dated menus and a beautiful little wrapped bundle of pastries for breakfast!!

Twenty years is quite a landmark, and I feel extremely fortunate to have my Kenny in my life. And our sons, which we consider to be our crowning achievment. :) We came home around 10 last night and our boys were still up, studying for this week's semester exams. To our shock they had cards for us -- never in their lives have they done that on their own. Sweet, funny, cute cards from my sweet, funny, cute kids. They took a study break to play a game of pool and Kenny and I just kept beaming at them like idiots. Alex finally said "Uh, Mom and Dad, could you guys, like, stop GAZING at us? We're trying to play pool here and you're disrupting us." That brought us back to Earth With Teenagers really quickly!

You're very kind to say it, and yes, I do feel EXTREMELY fortunate! It's nice to have a community like this one where I can share such a special event. We are real Chili's-Applebee's-neighborhood-Chinese-joint people about 99.9% of the time, so this was really a steppin' out kind of evening for us and we'll be paying off that Mastercard for a while, I expect -- wow, what these hoi palloi chefs can charge for a huge plate with a teeny weeny amount of gorgeous food on it! Still, it was worth it like the wedding (which also took us a while to pay off) and I'm so grateful to DH for setting it up. He's a sweetie!

Darn it, I meant to put up my best wishes before midnight yesterday, but my computer had been throwing me offline all day & I spent the majority of my day "off" fixing it! I assure you, my thoughts were with you.

Yikes!!! I just read about your fall off the step. I hope you're okay...don't push it...I did the same thing myself & made matters a whole lot worse by pretending it wasn't hurting. You poor thing...I also fell right on my tailbone once (dancing at my sister's wedding...don't ask) & the pain was excruciating...thank heaven you were on carpet. Take care of yourself, you hear?
