KK's September Rotation

Hi Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

So good to hear from you Karen, glad you're getting your workouts in. Check in when you can.

Rhea, we are going to Bandon, Oregon and staying in a State Park there. This is like our 6th or 7th year of going to the same place. We love it though, very relaxing and we take our dogs too. We stay busy with walking, biking, crabbing, shopping in Bandon, campfires, etc. It's a treat for us.

Today I did the first 5 intervals from Lowmax and Coremax Premix #3 for about a 1 hour workout. Last night I took the dogs and ran for 30 minutes. I pushed the pace more than usual (also cuz DH wasn't with me) and could feel it in my knee. When I slow down, it doesn't bother me. Good run anyway, though I kept looking for mtn. lions.

Good workouts everyone.

Jeanette

Hi all!

Late getting going this morning (my day off). We were supposed to leave on vacation today but DH got delayed a day at work, so we'll leave in the morning. I did GS Legs this morning. Love that workout and it sure fries my legs big time! It has so much variety, not boring at all. Love the floorwork in it. Need to do abs later today, but have some errands to do today. Will fit it in later.

I was wondering what I could do on vacation for exercise (besides walking, cycling, etc), so printed out a rotation someone else posted doing lunges, squats, kicks, . Only takes 25 minutes and will help maintain my fitness. Think it will be fun and I'll only have to bring a band and a few weights. I can stash those easily in the trailer.

Well, not sure if I'll have time to work out in the morning or not as we'll be pulling out of here at 6 a.m. so I'll check back in when I return in a week. Good workouts to all.

Also, I pre-ordered Cathe's 4 new advanced DVD's (good price on them) and also ordered the Terminator DVD and Rhythmic Step DVD.

Good workouts all!

Jeanette

Well, Karen's busy on the road, Jeanette's on vacation and it looks like Natalie is swamped again. Nobody to play with, phooey.:-(

I'm soo lonely. ;) Of course, I'm laughing when I say that. I'm such a baby. Hope everyone is doing well. I managed to do a short workout yesterday. Did the BBS4 cardio blaster. I might try to do a real short step....the basic one from Cathe...just to get some cardio in today. Have to go to class tonight, so might opt for walk instead at lunchtime. I just haven't made up my mind. Going home, changing clothes, setting up, sometimes just takes too long.

Hi Everyone,

I keep getting to the web site and checking on what you all are doing and then running out of time before I have time to post.

I'm still doing the Sept. rotation but I've had to shorten 1-2 workouts per week due to lack of time. Had a great workout today, though - did the 40 minute walk, 200 lunges and Core stretch one (I don't have the new stretch DVD). I'm one day behind on the rotation b/c I worked late on Tuesday night.

I'm going to preorder the new workouts. Hope they will come by Christmas.

Oh, and does anyone know a substitute for the Low impact step premix -it's on week 3 of this month's rotation and I don't have that one. I was thinking 1/2 of the Low Max workout or maybe a Firm cardio workout.

Natalie

Natalie - 1/2 of the Low Max would work. The new one is about 40 minutes and very similar to Low Max. Especially the blasts, just short amounts. Glad to see I'm not the only one with time for workout problems lately. Have a great week.

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie,

Sorry I haven't been able to log on and tell you all that's happening. We've been getting in so late -- long distances to drive -- and often it's all I can do to get into my pj's and go to bed -- then we're up early next morning and on the road again...

It's very busy.

My DVD on my computer quit playing and so I'm sprinting for anaerobics and aerobics and doing the weight work from memory...

What a time we've having, though -- I think we're constantly lost...

Anyway, would love to chat more -- but must get to bed. Oh, saw my nephew -- we stayed at his house a couple of nights. Okay -- really must go.

I must you all horribly and all our chats.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and great workouts.:7

Hi Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

Am back from vacation now. Had a great time. The crabbing was good for my husband. We got to do some walking, running, cycling and relaxing. I did take a set of 5# and 8# weights and did a traveling workout that I'd seen posted. Did this workout a couple of times. I tried to eat pretty sensibly, but did indulge (without guilt) on our final night out. Oh, the chocolate mousse was out of this world too! Not sure what I weigh, but that's okay, I'll start tackling it tomorrow.

Think I will jump back in on Week #4 of the September rotation. Tomorrow will be a bike ride and a Cathe DVD as I've missed them a lot. My new DVD's (Terminator and Rhythmic Step) will be here on Tuesday.

Karen, so glad to hear from you and Rhea and Natalie, happy to see you guys are working out too. Hey, we're all in this together and it really is a lifestyle, one that I sure do enjoy.

Rhea, brrrr, it's cold up here in Susanville! We have a fire going tonite. Fall is definitely in the air, sigh .

I'll write more tomorrow.

Jeanette :7

Good morning Karen, Rhea and Natalie!

It was Imax2 with the ab work from Cardio & Weights for me this morning. Felt real good after a week off. Imax2 is one of my favorites. Did a short bike ride yesterday to Janesville for a coffee. I really like to cycle with a purpose sometimes. After that it was stuff like cleaning the house, laundry, etc. Also got to ride my horse in the afternoon. Must take advantage of the weather while we still have it. Hopefully, after work DH and I can do a run. We'll see.

Karen, hope you can get on here soon. Miss your posts. Rhea and Natalie, will be hoping you two can get a rotation going for the week. Not sure what the Cathe October rotation will be. May do this one over again as it's sure been interrupted a bunch. Anyway, it's all good... :p

Back to work this week :(

Good workouts everyone!

Jeanette

Hi Karen, Rhea, and Jeanette,

Have been doing some work from home this am but getting ready to get off my butt and do IMAX 2 and then will add 10 minutes of abs but haven't decided yet what to choose. I purchased IMAX earlier this summer and maybe it's just that it is new for me but I think that one is the harder that IMAX 2 or 3.
Anyway, the weather here has turned a bit cooler as well but still warm enough for shorts during the day.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Natalie

Good morning! So glad to "see" everyone!

This weekend was full of finishing off projects. For example, finally pulled out the tile saw and finished off the bar in the house and fixed the pieces that had fallen off. That was fun....not. My upper back was a bit sore from the bending over. Took a little longer since I had to bull nose some tiles first and then cut. Oh well, it is finally done. Unfortunately, no workouts for me this weekend. I got up this morning and did about 10 minutes of a workout and then hopped in the hot tub. I've really got to get up earlier and just do it. (I'm not a morning person, I'm just too comfortable in the bed.) But this week, I'm gonna try. As soon as I get it going, then I'll add some sort of rotation. Right now, it is whatever will get me going in the morning, without too much hassle.

Have a great day everyone! It's a Reno class day with shopping before hand. Oh boy.

Good morning Rhea, Natalie & Karen:

Good for you, Rhea on finishing projects. I'm the world's worst about starting and not seeing something thru to the end. Too many hobbies. Really do need to buckle down and finish our bathroom, painting, etc. Well, this weather does encourage the indoor work, that's for sure. We still have wood to finish splitting, the trailer to clean out, lots of stuff.

Anyway, it was GS Legs for me this morning, the premix Timesaver 49 minute workout. The band work always gets me. Felt good though. Hoping to ride my horse after work tonite. Wanted to last night, but we just bought a used beater car for DH to drive back and forth to work so that took up all of my time. Tonite would be perfect to ride in the arena as there shouldn't be any dust with this nice little sprinkle this morning.

Rhea, hope the shopping was good in Reno. That's always fun! Think my sister went yesterday to do some furniture shopping. Oh how I envied her getting to go. I have a HUGE stack of work on my desk from being gone on vacation.

Good workouts everyone!

Jeanette

Hello everyone:

Today was supposed to be ME, but I decided to do Thursday's workout, which is Rhythmic Step and Ab Hits, and as I just received my new RS DVD and Terminator, I decided to do RS and the abs from MM. I really liked RS, a steady state cardio, but maybe didn't get my heart rate up there quite as much due to just trying to follow the moves. There are a few that I couldn't do yet without really fumbling, but all in all, got thru the 3 combos. Think I will really like it after a while and the time does fly. The moves come pretty fast so I really had to listen. It's fun, nice change of pace.

Hope everyone is doing well with their workouts and clean eating. A gal brought chips and salsa into the office yesterday so I muched all day. Sometimes it's the salty things that I really want. Today I will do better. Have to sit in training for 8 hours and there won't be munchies. I will bring my healthy snacks though.

Will check in tomorrow.

Jeanette

Good morning!

RS is one of my favorites. Haven't done it in a while. May have to try to squeeze it in somewhere. It is a little long and I've found myself reaching for the shorter tapes. When this class is over, I will be able to get back to longer workouts. Yesterday I did Jiggle Free Arms and Jiggle Free Abs from the Firm's latest. They were both fun and about 30 minutes a piece.Has a little bit of cardio, got about 20 minutes in the HRzone. Haven't been really clean eating, but not bad. If I could only give up the wine and the pumpkin spice lattes. ;)

Hi Rhea and all!

Glad you got to work out and had fun too. Pumpkin spice lattes sound really tasty, don't get me started!! I love Chai Latte's and did indulge while on vacation. Still trying to get back to feeling as firm as when I left for vacation.

Did ME today. Boy, focusing on leg work rotations really takes away my upper body strength. I sure felt it today. Am curious to see what the October rotation will be. Have a bike ride tonite with some fast guys (I'll probably be trailing way behind) and hope to get a run in tomorrow, along with one of my new Terminator workouts. I'm probably being too ambitious, but we'll see.

Yesterday morning, when I went to feed my horse before leaving for work at 5:30 a.m., I opened the barn door to get the hay for him and noticed a tail, not a cat tail either. It was a skunk, probably 4' from me. Needless to say, my horse did not get fed then. I called my sister and she came over a few hours later to feed him, after the skunk had vacated. Seems the skunk has been getting into the catfood. Well, catfood is now being kept elsewhere. I'll be keeping my eye peeled this morning, you can bet on that!

Good workouts all!

Jeanette

Good morning!

Karen - I sure hope you are doing okay and not exhausting yourself.

Jeanette - did you happen to ride down Richmond Rd. yesterday evening? I was in the living room doing a little rebounding, just to keep moving and I saw about 15 bikers go by. I was thinking those were your "fast guys." It was a beautiful evening to ride. It has been so warm in our back yard. We really want to clean up the garden furniture and protect it from all the bird poopey and fruit droppings, but still want to use it. BTW, we have tons of pears, grapes (wine type, but make good jam too) and plums and some little orangy type fruit. Come by and help yourself, the dogs are getting a little full.

Oh, workout yesterday was Jiggle Free Buns and about 15 minutes of rebounding.

Good morning!

It was Rhythmic Step for me today and boy am I pooped from it. I did the whole thing this time and improved on some of the steps a bit. It is a fun one.

Rhea, yes, I was in that group. I was told this was the "old man's ride", so thought I might fit in speedwise. However, all the local hammers showed up, and you know how the testosterone gets going and the speed was much faster than I had anticipated, though for them it was slower (so they say). Yes, we were flying! Much harder effort than I was used to, but it was good for me and I had fun. To let you know the difference, my usual average would have been in the 16-17 mph's. When we got done (after 23 miles), I had an average of 19 mph! I was stoked! A lot of the speed is attributed to being in a paceline and getting right on the tail of the guy in front of you (called drafting). I kept up with them pretty much the whole time until we came back on Johnstonville Rd. (right after the Ed Staub R/R tracks) where you have to cross diagonally to keep from falling). I usually take it wide and go a bit slower over them. That's where I fell off the train (so to speak), and about then my legs felt on the verge of cramping so I eased up. They waited for me at the Taco Bell light and we all rode in together, taking the new bike trail by the river (fun), and on to our starting place at Diamond View. To get faster, you have to ride with faster people and push, not something I always want to do, plus I enjoy my gal pals that I ride with.

I have lots of errands to do today, including going to the DMV :-( so must jump in the shower and get ready.

Good workouts everyone, anyone going to do Cathe's October rotation? Thought I would try that and maybe throw in a bit more leg work or running.

Jeanette

Good morning Rhea, Karen and Natalie:

It was the Gauntlet from my new Terminator DVD. Loved it! It's a lot of fun and you sure don't get bored. Have a run on the Biz Johnson trail at 1:00 this afternoon with a girlfriend. It will be the first time I've run with anyone else besides my DH. She's participating in the 1/2 marathon next week. I'll probably just run for my normal 30-40 minutes.

After that, we're having a family BBQ this evening so have to pick up some steaks and charcoal on my way home.

Must get in the shower and get some errands done.

Good workouts to all!
