KK's September Check In

Good morning,
Today's rotation called for Imax1, but I modified with Cardio Collectibles hi-lo (45 minutes) as I didn't want too much impact on my shin. I modified a lot of the pivots on my right leg so as not to antagonize it too much. It is much improved this morning. Last night, I put the heating pad and some Thera-gesic something on it, instead of ice. Feels much, much better. Have my golf class tonite after work.

Karen, I really enjoy SJP when I do it too. Love the music in it. I'm a 70's kind of girl for sure. In fact, last week I received my Time Life series Soft Rock - 11 CD's. Mostly all songs from the 70's. I've been enjoying it immensely. You know, American Pie, Daniel, songs from the Bee Gees, America, etc. Good stuff!

Rhea, hope you have a nice time this weekend.

Jeanette

Good Evening!:)

Jeanette, what have you done to your shin? I must've missed that post somewhere that you had injured it. Am very glad that it is better, but what happened. And here you are working out, despite it...wow, go Jeanette. But very wise to play to it, as well.

You know, I think one of the reasons I like SJP so much, as well, is because of the music. Also, like the music in the Hardcore series. On IMAX3, the very last interval -- I love that song so much, that it makes me do the exercise all out. Don't know what song it is, but it really makes me workout harder. It's my favorite interval.

Music really makes a difference when you work out. Hope the music in this next series of workouts is good. Okay, so here we go, my friend, Glynnis -- she's a fellow writer and we often tour together -- she is married to the base player in America. He still plays with the band and is on the road most of the year with the band...it's what he does for a living.

Sometimes Glynnis really gets into being the wife of a rock star and dresses the part, but mostly she's a fellow writer and a very sweet person. We toured together this year and as soon as the picts are up of it on my website, I'll send you the link. I'll try to find her website link for you, as well.

As far as music goes, my taste is so varied. I love so much and love almost any style of music -- I can almost always find something within each "genre" that I like. Mostly I just love it when it moves me.

Anyway, let's see today was Muscle Max -- and of course 2 walks with the dogs and tomorrow I'm planning either a Sprint 8 outside or if it's too hot or there's been too much spraying tonight, I'll do some interval training of Cathe's.

Hi Becky!

Have a really super day, Jeanette, and a great workout! :7

Good morning,
Today's workout was GS Legs Timesaver (standing work) and then Lowmax intervals 1-4. I have a golf game this morning before work and then afer work will see about doing a bike ride. We have a lovely group ride planned on Sunday. Hoping we get a lot of riders for it as the temps will be in the 70's.

Karen, I really don't know what happened to my shin or when it happened. It just got sore last weekend I think. It's getting better, but I'm watching it still and only did the 4 intervals instead of 5 in the Lowmax premix as I was starting to feel it. I didn't know that America was still together, that's pretty neat! Would love to see the link to your website with the new pictures. Speaking of motivating music, I think it's the 3rd interval in Lowmax that I really like.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll be watching my grandchildren on Saturday. Looking forward to it. Also have lots of housework and lawn mowing to do.

Jeanette

Good Evening!:)

Hope you had a terrific weekend, Jeanette! Watching your grandchildren sounds a little like heaven to me. One of my very best friends (for many, many years) is becoming a grandmother soon -- just went to her daughter's baby shower on Sat. Oh, how I'd like to be a grandmother -- I do have some God-grandchildren, but I hear it's not quite the same thing.

Know what you mean about things that just seem to crop up in the body. It'll get better, but I think you're really playing it wisely. I'll have to listen to that interval -- music really does make a difference in a workout, I think.

Okay, so I'm off again. Goodness, what a year. It's kinda of been a non-stop run for me this year. There's an opening back in Flordia for the course that I was taking a year and 1/2 ago, and so I'm jumping at the chance to go and finish. So tomorrow morning, bright and early, I'm back on the road. Can you hear me panting. I figure now's the perfect opportunity to go and finish -- I'm between books and between contracts right now.

However, I spent my entire day getting the copyedits done for the new book -- I'll finish them on the road. Plus, I have to take my taxes with me -- but hey, what the heck.

I should be back on line again on Thursday -- am taking my laptop, of course, but it'll be slow -- I'm now used to DSL so dial-up is going to seem like the old days, I'm afraid.

As far as workouts go, am planning nothing tomorrow -- some KPC on Tuesday and a run on Wednesday -- Thursday I'll play by ear. Am taking all my DVD's and such so I'll still be exercising -- can't imagine not exercising.

Can't remember what I did on Friday, but Saturday was HSC and today was IMAX2. Wanted to get in a tough workout cause the next few days won't be so tough.

Well, I'm off to bed -- gotta get up really eary tomorrow and head out.

Hi Rhea! Hope your vacation was terrific! Bet it was.

Have a great day and some terrific workouts.:7

Good morning,
Today was GS Back, Shoulders & Biceps. May do a little spin tonite if I have time, though I have some errands to do after work. We are planning on going camping next weekend and with the golf class 2 nights a week, my time is a bit more limited.

Yesterday, we had 8 riders for the beautiful ride around Lake Almanor. It was a picture perfect day, no smoke from the fire and a challenging ride pacewise. Also finally got the lawns mowed when I got home.

Karen, you are the energizer bunny for sure! How long will you be in Florida? You know, of course, that we will miss you! Oh, the babysitting of the grandchildren didn't happen. My DD's plans changed. DH did get a nice trip out to the woods on Saturday, looking for firewood to cut later on and found the new camping spot.

Rhea, how was the golf tourney in K. Falls?

Jeanette

Good morning!

Golf tourney was fun, but exhausting and frustrating at the same time. Definately need to get an endurance for playing 18 holes three days in a row. I got worse each day. Didn't help that DH was probably frustrated with me (he said he wasn't, but he is so competative that I'm sure he was and it affected his game too.) So I have to get some practice in. Tomorrow I should play with the ladies, but don't know if I can make it. I have an eye appointment at 4:45 and Doc Boomer usually runs late. I'll have to cross my fingers.

So that's been my exercise for the past three days. No workout for me today either since we are running off to Reno for DH's doc appointment. Probably good that I have this "rest" day because my shoulder is pretty achy. I might have to buckle and go to the doctor to see what I can do to get it to heal.

Uh, oh, court time.......Talk to you later!

Morning,
Today's workout was CTX All Step and abs. Used 2 risers, but modified the up and backs due to my shin still being sore. It swells pretty good still by the end of the day. Slowly getting less painful. Just feels like I wacked it somehow, but don't ever remember doing that. Didn't get a bike ride in yesterday. Came home and took a catnap instead. Was still recovering from Sunday's bike ride I guess. Today is my golf class.

Rhea, sorry the tourney wasn't as good as you or your DH would have liked. Wow, 18 holes. I'm sure not up to even one day of it yet. I am looking for a push golf cart if you know of anyone that has one for sale. If I get to class early today, I'll see if they have a bulletin board with items for sale. What did you do to your shoulder?

Got to run, hi to Karen!

Jeanette

Morning,
Today was PLB Lower Body floor work and then GS Legs floor work. Tonite will be grocery shopping and getting ready for camping. There's some cold weather coming in today, will have to look ahead to see what the weekend holds.

Rhea, hope the back/shoulder is better. I had golf class last night. How can I regress so badly in one session? I couldn't even hit the ball off the tee hardly and jammed my wrists so many times that my hand is swollen today. Instructor helped me at the end and I got straightened back out again, at least until next time. Amazing how I can go so wrong. He also said my clubs are too long for me. Anyways, it wasn't one of my better sessions, sigh. We did learn how to chip and that was fun.

Got to go,

Jeanette

Good morning!

Forgot to post yesterday. Let's see. Managed to squeeze in 30 minutes of Solid Gold Cardio. Could have gone a little longer, but the workout was later than usual and I hadn't eaten for a while, so my blood sugar gave out. Today I want to tackle a circuit, maybe Low Impact Circuit, either that or I'll be good and go straight to a weight workout. But probably a circuit to ease into the weights a bit. I want to be able to walk tomorrow.

Shoulder is better, no swinging of the club to make is sore. Golf is one of those funny sports, great one day and very bad the next. It is a big mind game actually. Got to be in the zone...:7

Wow, it took me a while to find the thread!

Let's see, yesterday I did Low Impact Circuit, the lower body premix. Glad I did that premix, was just about right for my energy level, even though in the last cardio/blast, I didn't have much poop. I even have a little bit of lactic acid in the buns today. Today I think I will be doing the P90 3/4, but might opt for a Cathe upper body weights workout of some kind.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning,
Found this thread on page 2 this morning. Today's workout was CTX 10-10-10 and with time left in my hour, I pulled out Eoin Finn's Power Yoga For Happiness - Quickie Premix. I can't do upward dog with my shin still sore, but the rest was good. Golf was good last night. DH and I will be leaving to go camping after work.

Hope everyone has a good weekend,

Jeanette

Have fun camping!

Karen - hope you get to Florida soon!

I popped in P90 3/4 circuit yesterday. Today is a massage, so no workout. I plan on getting a bunch of chores done today, yard work included, so that is enough workout for me.

Have a great weekend everyone. Hope we can find the thread on Monday!

Good Afternoon!:)

Am so happy to be able to jump on the forums again! I might be checking in at the library while I await a phone line being put in my room. But here I am back in Florida -- where it is raining -- but that's okay. We were so dry in California, that it is a pleasure to be rained on!

Hope your camping trip was fun, Jeanette! And Rhea, how's it going? Did you get the yard work done?

Some really good news is that my editor liked my proposal for the next series of books and they about a tribe of American Indians that I've never written about before -- the Iroquois -- Eastern Indians -- so I'm really excited. We'll be negotiating hopefully this next week.

Anyway, on the trip, I was up so early and in so late, that my exercise was non-existent. But as soon as I checked into my room, up went my step and I've been back at it -- two days ago, it was IMAX3, and yesterday was ME -- the full thing and today was BM2 -- first cardio section. Feels so good to be back exercising.

Tomorrow, am planning Supersets -- well, maybe not because I don't have a ball here -- ut maybe I'll try to do it anyway. Or I'll do Muscle Max.

Anyway, more later. Have a really super day, everyone! And have some terrific workouts!
:7

Good morning,
Hope everyone had a good weekend. DH and I went camping. Rain didn't bother us too badly. We got in a couple of rides on the Rhino, spent time reading and talking. The new generator was nice to have to keep the heater going in the trailer.

Karen, good to hear from you! How long will you be in Florida? How exciting to research and write about American Indians that will be new for you. Bet it does feel good to be back working out again.

Rhea, bet the massage felt great. Did you get some yardwork done too? Think I will go to Reno on Saturday to look for some clubs of my own. Think I will have DS take me.

Oh yeah, today was Slim Series Tone It Up. Will try to get a bike ride in after work today. Weather should be nice this week, though the rain was sure welcome this weekend.

Jeanette

Good morning!

Karen - glad you made it to Florida safe and sound. Great news on the new series.

Massage was great. Got the lawns mowed and some things put away before the rain.

No workouts for me this weekend. Had troubles with the digestive system again. Starting to irritate me quite a bit. I might have to buckle and make an appointment with the GI doc again. Err.

Well, not sure what will be in store for this week. Might be quite busy at work. Will have to play it by ear, maybe a few shorter workouts are in store.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Evening!:)

So glad to hear from you both. Jeanette, reading and relaxing with it raining outside the motor home sounds again like a bit of heaven. Glad the rain didn't hamper you any.

How was the bike ride? And you're doing the Slim Series now, huh? How is that working for you?

Hi Rhea! Glad the massage was great. Sorry to hear about the digestive system. What is going on, by the way? Is it gas or bloating or pain? It must be somewhat painful to keep you from exercising, huh?

I know since I took your advice and remembered to breathe, things have really been better for me when exercising and that stomach problem I was having has gone away.

Anyway, it was Cardio and Weights for me today. Wanted to get in some cardio cause I got on the scale this morning and had gained 2 pounds. x( Tomorrow I plan IMAX2.

Let's see -- not sure how long I'll be here this time, but I am planning to finish what I began and it might be a couple of months. Deep sigh...

Anyway, have a terrific day and have some wonderful workouts!:7

Good morning,
Today was Imax2 (gasp, I actually did all of it for a change). Yesterday, did a short bike ride after work. Today after work is my golf class. Weather should be nice too.

Karen, Slim Series usually does pretty well for me, I alternate a day inbetween with cardio. If I can control my eating, I hope to do okay on it. By the end of a month's rotation, hopefully Cathe's new DVD's will be out. Hey, you and I are doing Imax2 today!!! Sorry you will be gone from home for so long. Don't think I'm cut out for that.

Rhea, so sorry that your digestion is off. Know you were taking some product for it. Did that work well for you? Glad the massage was good.

Got to run,

Jeanette

Good Afternoon!:)

Am logging on early for me today -- I'm in the library --hostessing the blog today, so I thought I'd check in early.

Wow, Jeanette, you and I both did IMAX2 today -- and I did the full thing today, as well. Makes you really sweat, doesn't it?

Am so glad you had a great bike ride. Yeah, I'm not so sure I'm really cut out to be gone from home so long either. But you do what you need to do -- and this is important to me.

The Slim Series -- again, one I'm going to have to investigate.

Rhea -- hope that digestion is doing better. Let us know, okay?

Well, hopefully this week we'll begin contract negotiations for the next series of books. One never knows, but hopefully... If not this week, then next. As well as doing the course, I brought my taxes with me -- so I have those to do, as well. Fun, right?

Have a super day everyone!:7

Good morning,
Today was Slim Series Shape It Up. Some of these DVD's are longer than 60 minutes, but I just quit it around the 60 minute mark. Usually, abs are near the end, but this one had standing abwork throughout so I still felt like I got enough abwork.

Karen, hoping the contract negotiations go well. How often do you have to negotiate? Hope you can get those taxes behind you.

Jeanette

Good Evening!:)

I'm with you on the workouts over 60 minutes -- I just can't ever really seem to get in more time than that.

Let's see -- it was HSC for me today -- but the 51 or 52 minute premix -- which is tough. Tomorrow, am planning some kind of cardio and a stretch. Am still kind of settling in.

Hmmm...Rhea hasn't checked in in a few days. Hope all is okay with her. Negotiations have started on the next contract. Deep sigh... Don't ever really look forward to contract negotiations, but here we go again...

Take care, Jeanette. If you run into Rhea, tell we're all thinking of her. Hope all is okay.

Have a super day tomorrow and some really great workouts!
