KK's November Check In

janiejoey

Cathlete
Mornin everyone, Hope you don't mind me starting off the thread.

Rhea, I've never watched the Ghost Hunters before. I'll have to try it out one evening. I don't get trick or treaters either, and so glad Halloween is over, just because it's enough already. LOL! I did enjoy dressing up my meez though.

KK, I wonder why sometimes when we post it dispapears? You are not alone. O MY! You are starting yet another book, and I'm not done with my first yet. OK, I will do some recipes today. Thank you, I needed that little push, even though you didn't know it. This is probably one of the hardest projects I've ever done in my life. Is there no end? I don't think I'll do another one, but I will finish what I started. Enjoy your simple walk, you've earned it from all the CTX's you've done. That is so cool!

Jeanette, I love Christi Taylor too, have fun. When I exercise, I have to go on to other things as well, because my body too, adapts quickly. Have to keep it guessing.

I'll do my kitchen floor today and the bathrooms. First I need to pick up some vegies and fruit, perhaps some grains also (wheat bran, oatmeal...).

See Yas,

Janie

Good Evening!

Thank you so much for starting the blog, Janie. I totally forgot to do it, was just continuing on with the October posts.

I really enjoyed your dressing up the Meez, also. I think I like this one, too. Well, I make my living by writing, so I have to produce lots of books -- I actually should be writing more books, truth to tell. And the climate we're going into here as a nation -- with more and more debt -- seems to me I'd better be out there promoting.

Anyway, Sunday is when I take a look at the week ahead -- so here's the plan this week:

Mon: IMAX3 -- 8 intervals (anaerobics)
Tues: Power Hour (Strength)
Wed: BM -- beginnng cardio only & Stretch (Cardio)
Thurs: HSC Premix (Circuiit)
Fri: Drill Max -- cardio only -- 8 intervals, if possible (anaerobics)
Sat: SJC Premix (Circuit)
Sun: Off

Well, that's the plan anyway -- we'll see how I do on it.

Have a super day everyone!

Good Evening!

Oh, Rhea, that happened to me on Friday and like you, I just couldn't take the time to go back in and repost it.

So, today was IMAX3, gee, I sure do like interval 10 on that workout. I'm also liking the workout more and more than I did at first. Tomorrow is supposed to be Power Hour, a tough workout for me.

Hi Janie -- love the graphic -- how are things going with you? With the vac? With the book?

Hi Jeanette! Did you get alot done over the weekend?

Well, I'll make this short. Am trying to get another book written here before I have to settle down and write the next book under deadline.:eek:

Anyway, have a super day, everyone. Hope to take to you tomorrow.

Good morning ladies,
Here we are, already into November! Time flies for sure. Had a good weekend, lots of wood stacking, a little golf on Sunday, time out in the desert. It was drizzly but got outside when I could. No workout yesterday, but today I started Cathe's November Rotation. It called for GS Back, Biceps and Shoulders. I did the Timesaver premix of 36 minutes and still got a good workout. Tonite is voting after work.

Karen, what is the story line for your book? Glad you enjoyed Imax3. I have it (was given to me by another checkin buddy), but have only done a few combos from it. I need to pull it out some Saturday when I'm not pressed for time.

Janie, thanks for starting the thread this month. How are the soap recipes going? How's the VAC working? When do you go back to the doctor?

Hi Rhea, bummer when you lose a post, especially a long one. I think we've all been there more than a time or two.

Great workouts!

Good morning!

Okay, where was I? Oh yeah, weekend was very sluggy, no workouts. Well, except that I got a bug in me to rearrange the dining room, which ended up with some bookshelf moving in the spare room. So a lot of taking books down and up and moving the bookshelves, etc. All this happened after I scrubbed up the bedroom and the bathroom. So that was enough workout for me.

So, bottom line, no workouts, no sewing and no baking. Oh well.

Yesterday I jumped back in with P90 5/6 sculpt. Nice shorter workout, I was short on time, so it was perfect. Today will probably be a shorty too since I really would like to get something other done in the evening before I wear out (besides working out, making dinner, and other mundane chores.) Unless I can get home extra early, then I might throw something extra fun into the dvd player.

Well, I had better get back to work. Hope everyone is okay and hope this post goes through!

Good Evening!

Howdy! Well, today was Power Hour, but I got sick this afternoon and am still a little under the weather. So am just fighting things off right now.

Jeanette, the storyline of this new book is a Western set in Montana, about a guy who missed his chance at happiness. That November rotation sounds invigorating. :D I do like IMAX3, and interval 10 is my fav -- sometimes I do the whole workout just to get to that interval. But I'm going to have to get over my reluctance at LowMax -- it was very difficult for me the first time and I've had a hard time returning to it. I know you do it now and again and like it -- so I'm going to have to try it again.

Rhea, sounds to me like you had quite a workout just moving furniture around.:) Taking books down and putting them back sounds like work to me. Didn't know that the P90's can be short workouts. Sometimes I really need those.

Hi Janie! Hope all is going well with you. How is that soap book coming along?

Have a super day tomorrow, everyone. I guess we'll see the election results then.:D

Morning,
Today was GS Legs (part of it anyways). Tonite will be either a short bike ride or golf practice.

Karen, does the new book involve Native Americans? Think you usually write along those lines? Lowmax is probably much simpler than Imax3. It's just that first combo that is a little trickier I think. Know you can get it.

Rhea, you are just like the energizer bunny. I haven't moved furniture in years. No creativity here.

Hi Janie,

Good mornin,

Rhea, You must have the bug of "Fall Cleaning".LOL;) Great workouts. Sometimes the short ones, are just right.

Jeanette, How is the golfing and biking doing? Will there be at least a couple or more weeks for it? I know you enjoy it, so I'm hoping there is. Your workouts look great.

KK, Do you have the flu or a cold, or 24 hour flu...? I'm sorry you got sick, that is such a bummer.:( Hope you feel better soon.

I'm trying to do two things at once, the book and a painting for my Joey for Christmas. It is not working out very well. I'm going to have to let one go, that will be Joey's painting. I'll have to give it to him on his birthday instead. Just got to keep plugging along with the book until it's done.

I'll see my PS this Friday and will let you know how things are going. I'm still on the VAC and as far as I can tell it's doing it's job, but will no better on Friday.

Stay healthy everyone like you are doing,

Janie

Good Evening!

:)Today was BM2, first cardio part (about 40 minutes), but I skimped on the stretching and just did the stretching that comes with BM2, which is also a pretty good stretch.

Jeanette, how was the bike ride? Bet it was beautiful. GS Legs is one that I don't have, but I bet it's great. Yeah, this book also has a Native American hero, but it's more in the Western vein cause it's more contemporary -- circa 1930's. Thanks for asking.

Rhea, I loved Jeanette's analogy -- energy bunny really does seem to fit :)-- I'm forever putting these things off.

Janie, am so glad that you're still writing your book.:D And yes, do let us know what your PS says. Hard to believe it's already the 5th of Nov. Time is really escaping me, I'm afraid. Need to get more done.

Today was better -- it might have been a 24 hour flu -- but I had a bit of it today, as well. Hopefully it's gone -- am feeling better now. I so dislike being sick.

Anyway, have a super evening! And a terrific day tomorrow!

Good evening!

I won't be posting much during the day for a while. The IT nazis at work complained again about internet usage and I know they watch where I go, so I'm going to leave it alone for a while and then go back to my normal. They really irritated me today. My boss doesn't care about our internet usage and says we can us it any time; but the head guy actually had the nerve to e-mail me and tell me that my usage was 2.4 times the allocated (or whatever) and was it for business? Like I alone out of the entire county was slowing the internet down. I do use it for work quite a lot. It just fried me.

So, I stayed off the forums at work, even though I shouldn't have to. Yesterday, I did P90 sweat 5/6 and today I just finished Dance Fit. I have a mediation course in Reno tomorrow through Saturday, so I probably won't be able to post until I get home Friday night (I'm only spending tomorrow night in Reno since it ends at 9 pm. It is not that far to drive home Friday night, plus DH will be here.):D

Karen - I hope you are feeling better.

Janie - good luck with the PS Friday. Too bad we don' have clones to keep up with all the things we want to do.

Jeanette - yep, I go from slug to energizer bunny in a microsecond! How's this cold weather? I'm so glad it is just rain now. We really need the water. Plus I'm not quite ready for snow yet.

Good morning,
Today was about 30 minutes of Christi Taylor's Totally Hot Cardio (floor aerobics), then did the abs from it. Hoping to get in a walk today. I thought yesterday's weather would be better but it was pretty drizzly when I got off work so no bike ride.

Oh yes, the doctor called and said my bone density is low - osteopenia, so I need to get back on the calcium and Vit. D.

Rhea, bummer on the posting from work. I can't get on this site from work. Can't believe they monitor you that way. I'm not ready for snow either. I'm not putting snow tires on my little Honda, will drive the Jeep in bad weather. Supposed to warm up today. Yes!!!

Karen, glad you are feeling better now. Some little bug you caught? I think I keep dodging the bullet as people around me have colds.

Janie, glad the VAC seems like it is working. Crossing my fingers for you. The biking can continue all winter, as long as we don't have ice or snow. You just bundle up. I don't think I've skipped a winter since starting to bike 8 years ago. Golf course will probably close when the weather gets bad or frozen or snow.

Must run,

Mornin All,

Jeanette, Christi Taylor, Yay! She's great. We are in our rainy season now, so lots and lots of rain our way. I also have osteopenio. Kinda of scary to me. I'm religious about taking my calcium three times a day with vitamin D. I'm glad you continue with the bike rides all Winter. Wow, you are brave. I don't like the cold. Have fun, I know you will.

Rhea, How dare them do that to you! Why are they treating people like children? The only way a person would do that to another person, is because they want to be in control and will pick anything they can and use it over people. If they have the slightest power it goes straight to their heads. They must have fat/big heads. That burns me! Sorry you have to be there for that. If your boss says it's OK, then can't you still do it and ignore them? Your workouts look great, I'm proud of you. Yes, a clone would be great about now. LOL:D

KK, I see you are still doing well on your workouts. Good for you! Maybe it was food poisening. Did you eat meat just before you got sick? Just a thought. Glad to know you are getting better.

Got a flu shot the other day, my arm was sore for a couple of days.

Tomorrow is my day to see the PS, will let you know how things are going.

My husband came home yesterday (it was a surprise) and I haven't put away my art work. He saw what I was doing and knew it was for him (his little face lit up so brite). I have to continue on it, otherwise it will hurt his feelings. I'll try to get done as soon as I can, and then concentrate the rest of the time on my book.

Janie

Good Evening!

Today was HSC premix -- 51 minutes. Tough workout, actually, but am glad that I did it. Georgie is growing. I don't let him go out on his own as I'm afraid of losing him, but he goes out for an hour a day which he loves.

Am realizing I have to do a little research for this book I'm writing. That's surprising me as I thought I wouldn't have to do much research.

Rhea, how digusting.:mad: If your boss says okay...geez. Maybe it's good that you're looking for other work closer to your husband. Geez! Your workouts look good, but I gotta tell you, I'm jealous that you'll be seeing your DH soon. Wish it were me.

Jeanette, gee, your workouts look really good, too. Good for getting in the walks. Don't forget that celery is also really good for the bones.:) That green drink really helps to support the bones, as well. I've taken to drinking an entire head of celery every day. And if you're going to be taking calcium -- more of it -- you might also take magnesium with it as well. I think they have it in drinks called cal/mag, which also has an acid base which helps the absorbtion.:) One of the main problems with calcium with us women is absorbtion (excuse the spelling) And an acid base helps to absorb it, as well as a good dose of omega 3.

Probably more information than you wanted...

Janie, you'll have to let us know how your PS appointment goes tomorrow. By the way what's the difference between osteoporsis and osteopenio? Again, absorbtion of the calcium is important, otherwise, all those wonderful tablets you're taking just kinda go out the other end. I've also found calcium helps when I have allergy problems. A steep dose of calcium will help with an allergy attack. Again, probably more info than you waned. That's wonderful that you're going to finishthe painting for him. Ah, love...

Well, have a super day tomorrow!

Good morning,
Today was a GS Chest & Triceps premix, then 2 step combos of Amy Bento's Advanced Step Challenge, followed up with some shoulder exercises that help with golf. Tonite is a golf lesson.

Karen, HSC is a good one too. Thanks for the info on the magnesium. I'd heard that too. Starting today, will start taking my calcium, D and I have some magnesium. Also will start back up with my multi-vitamin.

Janie, I'm glad you take the calcium for the osteopenia. I think osteopenia is pretty common for ladies our age. I'd heard someone say once, "there's no such thing as bad weather, only inadequate clothing." I think that's pretty true, except it's no fun to ride bikes in the rain so that's where I draw the line (or snow or ice), but cold I can deal with for a little while anyway. What is the subject of the painting you are doing for your DH? Glad he was tickled.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, I'm going Christmas shopping with some lady friends, my DS's GF (Cass) and my Mom. Looking forward to it tomorrow.

See you all on Monday or Tuesday.

Mornin,

Jeanette, My Joey's favorite bird is the wood duck. On one of our travels in San Diego we took a lot of pictures of them. We found a picture we both liked. It was on a lake with cattails, with a small log in the foreground and the wood duck near the middle. You can see under the water near the duck of his leg and there are all kinds of reflection. This is my third attempt to paint it, but I know I can do it this time. I'm more determined. I didn't know that osteopenia is that common. I'm grateful that it isn't permanent and we can improve it with calcium and vitamins/things to obsorb it. Enjoy tonights golf lesson.

I have to get going to my PS now, (I'm running a little late) but I'll be back to finish this post to say hi to the rest of you and let you know what he says.

I'm back. Very very good news. But first just a little history on wounds with a VAC system. Sometimes the wounds heal rapidly, and then there is a time that they don't heal for awhile. Not always, but sometimes. My wound is healing rapidly. It was the size of a quarter wide and 2 inches deep now, a size of a nickle, still two inches deep. YES! Doc says if I continue to heal this fast, then in a month I will no longer need the VAC. YAY! I'm so excited. I just have to remember though that it might take a break from healing just for a little while. I'm in hopes of doing the STS with everyone else, we'll see. Wish me luck. I'm so excited about this. I always thought the wound would heal from the bottom up, instead it is healing from the sides in. CooL!

Take care and have a great weekend.

Janie

Good evening!

I'm back from Reno for the day. Gotta go again tomorrow. I probably will be exhausted by Sunday. Oh well, that's why the weekends were invented right?

Janie - great news. Sounds like your body is finally cooperating with you! Whoo hoo.

No workout for me. I won't be able to work out at least until Sunday, and then I suspect only a shorty. However, after sitting for so long, I may have tons of energy to get up and move.

Well, speaking of getting up and moving, I'm off to do something. Have a great rest of the weekend.

Oh BTW, I got a new Blackberry telephone, so I'm trying to view the forum on the phone. It is a little hard, but I think I may be able to post from anywhere soon.:rolleyes::D

Good Evening!

Today was cardio only (anaerobics) from Drill Max -- I haven't done that one in a while and so it was fun.

Jeanette, I so admire your ability to put these workouts together -- an Amy Benito workout is another one that I would like to have. When I get the income to do it... Hope the golf lesson was great. And what fun -- going Christmas shopping. It's hard for me to believe that X-mas is creeping up upon us -- I have almost no shopping done. Bet you'll have a great time shopping.

Janie, this is really good news. I'm so proud of you -- I know this has really been tough on you. So here's a little prayer that it all goes as planned (knock on wood). That painting sounds beautiful -- wonderful that you're doing this for your DH.

Hi Rhea -- know you're having trouble posting cause of work -- but Hi! anyway!:D

Have a super weekend.

Good Evening!

Quick checkin to say that today it was SJP for me -- I skipped the hi/lo and just did the first cardio sections and then the weight work for a less than an hour workout.

Good workout that way.

Hope your weekend are going well. Am experimenting with the colors, which is kinda fun.

Have a super rest of the weekend. :D

Well, I get to read the posts on my Blackberry, but I haven't figured out how to post correctly. The posting page comes up strange. Oh well, at least I get to read!

I managed a small workout today. Did the P90 master series, upper, middle, lower. It is a short workout and not intense in cardio or anything. Not sure what tomorrow will bring. If DH pumps up the wood stove again, I may have to take a rest day. It was very hot in the living room where I work out. He always forgets that I like it cooler in the living room when working out. :(

Well, I had better get going. Got a few household chores to do. Hope everyone is doing great this weekend!
